Absolute best duck i ever eaten! I won't be able to eat duck anywhere else now but here. Ambiance is nice. Staff was friendly. Maybe a tad bit over hyped for ATL but I still highly recommend 👌

Nice lowkey speakeasy. Craft cocktails, good atmosphere, great music. The staff was very accommodating.

People at the door are horrible, poor customer service and very rude. It doesn’t cost to be kind

Cocktails blew my mind! Masterfully crafted, these drinks are real showstoppers. Everything in this space is prisitine, and the service is 2nd to none.

The unforgettable experience made it worth every penny.

This place is effortlessly cool with a unique decor, killer cocktails and fun vibe. We have been a couple of times and rather enjoyed it after dinner so highly recommended if you can figure out how to get in. I was most impressed with the Japanese margarita which I have since worked hard to replicate at home and is now my go to for impressing friends.

Himitsu is more than your run-of-the Mill speakeasy bar. If you snag the code to get inside, you’re in on the sexy secret. The space is beautiful. Dimly-lit Tom Dixon lights adorn the room. The music is quiet enough to have a conversation.

The service was warm and friendly; the cocktail program creative and delicious. We ordered the Papurika and Kemuri. Both were delicious, with fresh quality ingredients. I will definitely return to explore more of the menu.

Overhyped and Underwhelming – Not Worth the Hype

I had high hopes for Himitsu, but it turned out to be a massive disappointment. The place is way overhyped, especially compared to proper speakeasies in major cities like LA or NYC.

First off, the drinks were boring and ridiculously overpriced for what they were. Nothing creative, nothing memorable—just basic cocktails you could get anywhere for half the price. If you're going to charge top dollar, at least make the drinks worth it.

The music? Absolutely horrendous. I expected something sophisticated or at least fitting the vibe, but instead, we got random 90’s throwbacks like It’s Raining Men by The Weather Girls. Not exactly the mood you want in a dimly lit speakeasy.

The food was mediocre at best—definitely not worth the cost. Nothing stood out, and for the price tag, I expected much better quality and execution. We placed two food orders and the kitchen only made one so we asked for the lost item to be removed from our bill. Go figure.

The ambiance itself felt like it was trying too hard to be exclusive, but it didn’t have the charm or authenticity of a true speakeasy. The moveable chairs upstairs were awkward and too low for taller men. If you’ve been to top-tier spots in NYC like Angel’s Share, this place will feel like a major letdown. Definitely not worth the hype or the hassle.

Wouldn’t recommend—still looking for a true speakeasy in Atlanta that can actually deliver.

Himitsu is hands down one of Atlanta’s best-kept secrets, and for good reason—it’s the perfect blend of sophistication, creativity, and atmosphere. The vibe is upscale yet unpretentious, making it the perfect spot for an intimate night out or a refined prelude to an evening in Buckhead.

Alex, one of the mixologists, is truly a master of his craft. Every cocktail feels like a work of art, balancing innovative techniques with a respect for classic flavors. Shoutout to Roderick and Brendan, whose hospitality and cool energy make every visit unforgettable. And let’s talk about the playlist—every track hits, setting the tone for a laid-back yet elevated experience.

Himitsu is one of those spots you almost don’t want to share—it’s that good. But it’s definitely worth the hype for those lucky enough to make it in. Just don’t forget: this is a place to bring your best vibes and your best company. Cheers to keeping the magic alive!
