The hostess was not very friendly. As we approached her stand, she asked if we had a reservation. She did not say, Hello, welcome to Houston's. We did not have a reservation so she said it would be about a 2 hour wait. We decided to leave. I had not visited Houston's in about a year or so and I have no immediate plans of returning. I'm open to giving them another try, maybe the hostess was tired or her feet were hurting. She still should greet all customers with a smile.

I have been a long time patron of Houston’s (over 15yrs) but my last 2 experiences at the Buckhead and the west paces location have shown me that I am no longer welcome in their establishment. Today at the buckhead location we were told we would need to change clothes in order to dine. We were both wearing athleisure. Really!!?? To eat at Houston’s?! A few months ago, at the west paces ferry location, the chef came from the back kitchen and asked me to turn down my phone volume as to not disturb the other guests. My toddler was watching a show to keep her occupied while we dined. The phones volume was not elevated so his actions were completely uncalled for. The other option would have been to let my toddler scream and Actually disturb the guests. They also didn’t have highchairs. I am so disappointed and disgusted by the way we have been treated recently that yall will never see another dime of my money.

Houston’s is one of my all time favorite restaurants in Atlanta for over 10 years. I always order the Hawaiian Ribye steak. It is always tender and full of flavor. The atmosphere is nice and comfortable.

We booked a last minute reservation but were welcomed just the same. The hostess was very sweet and accommodated us wanting a new table. Server was very attentive and made sure everything was great. Food was good. Overall experience 10/10

Our longtime support of Houston’s has come to an end. Today at noon a family friend visited your location and was met by a terribly rude hostess. Even though there were three other people dressed similarly, if not more casual, than my friend, she remarked that he was dressed inappropriately. He questioned her, she provided no response except that she “would let him in this time but don’t expect to be treated this way next time you come in.” That’s disgusting behavior and unbecoming of an Atlanta restaurant. If your inconsistency and poor service attracts certain customers - count us out. Unacceptable! You’ve been in business too long, and so this tells us that your hiring of staff with no integrity is purposeful.

Had dinner at Houstons last night.
Waited for ever !!!!
After a 45 minute wait, finally we were asked if we would like a drink.
We placed our order and then waited again.
Our Hamburgers came at room cold with 0 flavor.
Thats it for me.
Pity it was not always like this

Visited today around 12:30 PM. I am a frequent Houston’s and Hillstone guest in New Jersey and New York City, so I brought my parents while they were visiting Atlanta. We did not have a reservation, but we decided to try walking in, as we have done many times at other locations.

The hostess explained availability, but her tone was smug, dismissive, and completely unwelcoming. We felt brushed off rather than greeted, and it was uncomfortable enough that we chose to leave without dining. Very disappointing after telling my family to expect excellent service.

This location did not reflect the standard of the brand.

We love Houston’s. It’s so consistent and the service is always top notch. We came here for lunch one day without reservations. At first we were told we’d have to sit at the bar which we were fine with. But then when they went to call us to be seated, they said they ended up having room in the dining room, so we got a much appreciated booth along the street. I got the chicken sandwich with those amazing fries. I got the Cole slaw from it on the side but ended up putting it on the sandwich. It was sweet and spicy. My wife got their cheese burger and it never disappoints. Our great server brought us spicy mayo that was to die for. Overall, a great lunch out with my wife. Highly recommend!!

Manager was so rude today

Ebeni Passmore

I’ve had two very disappointing experiences back to back at Houston’s due to the behavior of the manager.

The first incident was in September 2025 on a Thursday when my girlfriends and I came in for dinner. After finishing our meal, we were sitting, talking, and enjoying ourselves when the manager came over and told us we had to leave because the restaurant was “full” and other guests needed to be seated. This was upsetting because there were plenty of other patrons sitting and talking long before us who were not asked to leave. It felt unfair and targeted.

The second visit was even worse the next month on a Thursday night for my elderly Aunt’s birthday. We waited patiently for over an hour to be seated. Before I could even get to my table, the same manager stopped me and said I had to leave because my jumpsuit didn’t meet the dress code. My outfit was classy and not sporty at all, yet I noticed several guests of other races wearing very casual jumpsuits and sneakers who were not approached or asked to leave. When I pointed that out, the manager admitted he remembered me from last time, which made the situation feel even more uncomfortable and disregard my observant of other guest attire.

I left feeling disrespected, singled out, and discriminated against. It’s disheartening that in 2025, we are still facing what feels like racial profiling in dining establishments. I truly hope corporate management reviews this manager’s behavior and takes these concerns seriously.
