Shelia is the best I stop in for regularly and she’s always pleasant. The staff is amazing as well!

The food was delicious and all of the wait staff were very friendly! Great atmosphere with the setting of an old time breakfast spot.

- Only serves breakfast
- Cash only
- The entire party needs to be there to be seated

Parking: I walked from across the street. But there didn't seem to be much parking.

Wheelchair accessibility: Just walk in from street level, no stairs.

I haven't been here since pre 2020 and I'm delighted to see it's still here and still good! The Gingerbread Waffle is still AMAZING. The server was really sweet, and it's bigger than I remember!

I recently visited Java Jive, and while the food was just okay, the service was disappointing. The staff, for the most part, was fine, but the guy at the register (also the host) really soured the experience for me. He was dismissive and didn’t make me feel welcome at all. With so many other options around, I won’t be returning.

The biscuits everyone talks about are Good! In fact they should take the spotlight more, because the rest was mediocre. 2 scrambles and no one taught the cook how to season food; they were decisively 2 quite bland scrambles. I Love scrambles… I do not love these, and they can be had much more deliciously at dozens of local and chain restaurants throughout the area.
The wheat germ pancakes were solid, and I did enjoy them, but I wouldn’t drive into ATL for them again. Potentially the most underwhelming coffee I’ve ever had, an absolutely the worst I’ve ever had a local diner or coffee shop. It might be the same coffee you’d find in a gas station with no brand recognition.

4.4⭐️ is unfortunately overrated
It could be fixed, probably with just a new cook and a new coffee provider.

The food is good and the ambiance of the restaurant is definitely unique (I loved the retro vibe!), but the service was shockingly rude today.

The restaurant is cash only and I don't carry cash. My bill came out to ~$28 so I had to go in the back and use their ATM which only returns $20s for some reason. It was annoying to have to ask the front to make change because $40 for coffee + breakfast is kind of ridiculous. Left the $28 on my table after they made change for me, and as I was going in my wallet for a tip, I realized i didn't have my work cell phone and I got distracted trying to remember if I forgot it somewhere. Meanwhile the waitress comes back, counts the cash and asks me if I want change. I say no and as I'm thinking about my cell phone, she waits 5 seconds, rudely drops a $1 dollar bill saying "here's your change", and just walks off.

I ended up remembering my phone was back at my house, picked up the $1 and left the $5 at the table. I understand she has other customers to get to, but I don't appreciate the attitude, lack of patience, and entitlement. Hope she's happy with the tip because I will not be returning.

As mentioned in most of the reviews, the food is great and the prices pretty high. When you are served bisquits, grits and pancakes, don't be stingy on the butter fellas! As an all cash restaurant, put some of the 3% savings into butter!

Retro diner, that makes its biscuits and pancakes in-house. Got the raspberry Danish French toast and the Santa Fe scramble, and both were on point. There's a sign saying they sell their coffee beans, and after having the coffee, I can see why. Honestly, it made one of the best breve latte I've had in ages.

The biscuits are the real deal and were the main reason we grabbed breakfast here. But we also made sure to try their raspberry danish French toast and bacon and an omelette and home fries. Lovely little spot for breakfast/ brunch and quality food, 10/10 would recommend!!

Best biscuit and breakfast potatoes in Atlanta! Plus the fun retro diner vibe.First of all, the coffee here is great. My boyfriend is a coffee snob, and he had three cups. I had a delicious latte, which came in an adorable glass. He ordered the ginger bread waffle, which comes with a lemon curd, and a side of potatoes and bacon. We both love lemon, but he liked the waffles so much that he scarfed them up while barely touching the curd.I ordered a ham and cheese omelet with potatoes and a side of bacon. The omelet was very good, and not too cheesy. The bacon was a little too thin and crispy for me, but it was still good. I would rather my bacon be crispy than chewy. The best part of the meal was the biscuit and the potatoes. Hands down the best biscuit and breakfast potatoes in Atlanta! The biscuit was so fluffy and perfect. The potatoes were cooked and seasoned perfectly. I literally ate everything on my plate, and it was a lot of food.As mentioned, Java Jive has a fun retro theme. It features vintage dining room table sets, as well as a stage area with other kitchen appliances all circa the 1950s. Basically imagine that you're having breakfast at your grandmother's house, or in my case at my old dining room table that we had when I was a child. Albeit not very comfortable, it is such a cool atmosphere. My only complaint is that the menu selections is basically waffles and pancakes, then scrambled eggs and omelets. I'm not a big fan of sweet items for breakfast, and I think scrambled eggs and omelets are the most boring eggs on earth. My boyfriend also said that they order from here for work all of the time, and they usually get them to make some combination of a breakfast biscuit, which is not on the menu. So, I'm sure if I had requested they could have made me a fried or poached egg. Also, I think it's important to mention that a limited menu ensures that the few things they make are going to be made very well, which I greatly appreciate.
