🚩 attention! Jinya has gotten rid of build-your-own. That means, even if you aren’t hungry enough to eat a bowl of ramen, they demand you pay $15+. No thanks, I’ll take my business somewhere else. A huge disappointment coming from a long time fan.

Parking is NO LONGER FREE! Good luck finding street parking during peak hours.

BEST Vegan options:

easily my all time fav ramen in the world! i love how veg friendly their menu is! the drink menu isn't that great but it was fun to try a new drink - i got the matcha lychee drink. you can't really taste the lychee.

Vegetarian options: plenty of veg options that actually taste great!

Parking: i think we paid $6 for two hours of parking

Jinya is one of our favorites in Atlanta and we come here pretty regularly, but sadly we will probably not be coming anymore. Apparently they no longer allow you to build your own ramen bowls and no substitutions are allowed on their pre-set bowls, even for the protein. As someone with food intolerances, Jinya ramen was always a safe bet for me to get a tasty meal that I didn't need to worry about. The waiter told us we couldn't substitute any items on the pre-set bowls, but we could add on. Alternatively we could purchase everything we wanted in the bowl ad-hoc (though the menu doesn't reflect this and it was unclear how much that would be and he said the ramen would only be the "additional broth" size, not the full ramen bowl). It just feels overly complicated and hard not to see it as a blatant money grab. Plus, it doesn't make any sense--Ramen is like the most customizable dish and that's the way it is served in Japan.
I was able to find a pre set bowl that could have worked for me if they had let me substitute the protein, but it was a no go so I just didn't get to eat with my party. If they are removing the customized bowls, it seems like they should at least have updated the menu to give you an option of which protein you'd like with the pre-set bowls. I eat meat, but I don't want what was once a living creature to go to waste so I'm really against the idea of being served meat I'm not going to eat while paying extra for the one I will eat.

if i could put no stars on the service and food i would! the waitress took forever to come over and greet us let alone take our food order! When she finally did come to the table she had a horrible attitude :/ she acted like we were dumb when we asked questions about the menu. when the food did arrive, we were appalled at the portion sizes. the flavor was lacking and the 2 chicken dishes we ordered were so hard and chewy it was inedible and definitely not worth the price. will never dine here again

I’ve been to this restaurant several times, but my recent visit was disappointing enough that I doubt I’ll return. While I don’t mind paying for quality, the portion sizes have consistently shrunk with each visit, and this time it felt like a rip-off.

I was charged $2.50 for two small spears of broccolini and $3.80 for a tiny scoop of Impossible meat soboro. When I brought it up, I was told by the staff and manager that the portions are pre-measured, and the pricing is out of their control. While the staff was polite, it doesn’t justify the steadily shrinking portions and high prices.

The inconsistency in portion sizes and lack of value for money make it hard to recommend this restaurant. With so many great restaurant options nearby, it's wiser to spend your money elsewhere.

We came to this Jinya after homecoming and it was literally the highlight of our night. JoJo took such great care of us. She had great service and came thru with the recommendations. I got EXACTLY what I wanted thanks to her. We love JoJo and will definitely be back! If y’all goto the Poncey Highland location make sure to ask for JoJo and take good care of her!
