You need to better customer service! I'm not standing in your restaurant waiting to be be seated for over 5 mins while some DJ is blasting some music and running his mouth! ⭐️ #Realtalk ✌🏼 Wasted 2 hrs driving to this place !

The worst chicken and waffles I’ve ever had. Paid $25 for what felt like frozen food heated up in a microwave. Came out lukewarm and soggy. Thoroughly unimpressed.

I walked in to place a to go order and couldn't immediately find any workers. So, I sat at the empty bar and waited. Once the bartender looked up from here hookah 4 mins later I was greeted. My order was taken and I had to pay..... 18% grat!!!!!! For what??? Once my order was taken she sat back in the corner and proceeded to use phone and smoke hookah. My order was $51 freaking dollars in total with the 18% grat. Do I mind paying grat? Of course not. I've worked in the service industry for over 20 years. Hell, I tip ppl at the grocery store. But to be forced to pay 18% when they didn't do shit is crazy. I literally sat there and ordered a waffle iron to make his shit my damn self. The floor was a mess on top of it all. I won't be back. But for those of you that want to deal with poor service, yet good food..... this is your place!

The food was good. However the service could have been better. The restaurant was not busy. There were only two other customers besides us in the restaurant along with two servers. Our server, Dee was nice but not very attentive. One thing that we were not told about was that there is an 18% gratuity that is added to the bill. I added an additional tip because of not being aware. The tip was way too much for the lack of service. We won't be going back there.

Upon entering the restaurant, the ambiance was subdued. We were seated, and shortly thereafter, we were greeted by our server, Sunday. Initially, she was pleasant and courteous. We ordered water, and she promptly returned with it. However, when my guest requested a Mimosa, she departed to prepare the beverage. Upon her return, I playfully remarked that she would not card her. From that moment on, the service became unprofessional. When I clarified that my comment was in a joking manner, she abruptly interrupted me, accusing me of being a hater and implying that I might be investigating her. Subsequently, I observed her whispering to other coworkers about the incident.
Once the food arrived at the table, it was simply placed there and she departed. The food was satisfactory and met the advertised standards. Approximately 30 minutes later, she returned to the table to inquire about our satisfaction. Unfortunately, the damage had already been done.
To provide some context, I have been in the hospitality industry for over 22 years. When dining at restaurants, I generally maintain a relaxed demeanor, as I am aware of the responsibilities involved. However, receiving subpar service over a task that is expected of me is considered unkind, unprofessional, and potentially damaging to one’s reputation. It is important to remember that potential customers may enter one’s establishment, and performing one’s duties correctly can mitigate the risk of investigation.
Therefore, I conclude by emphasizing that if someone offers a critique, it should be viewed as an opportunity for improvement. Particularly for a black-owned business, it is crucial to ensure that all employees are performing their duties to the highest standards.

I was so disappointed with visiting for the 1st time. The atmosphere was ok and we went on a Tuesday late afternoon around 430pm. We were seated and our orders were taken at 441pm. There were only 6 customers in the entire restaurant including me and my husband. We didn't get food until 527pm. I wasn't expecting fast food but with only 6 people in the restaurant, I expected it to come out sooner. I cannot imagine what the wait is on a weekend. The food was just okay to not that good. The chicken was seasoned but the waffle was soggy. I ordered a red velvet waffle with my chicken. My husband ordered a regular waffle. They upcharge for the red velvet waffle by 2 dollars. The waffles taste the same only difference is that one is red. Nothing about that waffle was red velvet-like. I ordered cheese grits and never got them. I was expecting the food to taste better. The restroom was dirty. I was so surprised because I have heard pretty good things about this place. Our server was really nice. Unfortunately we will not be returning.

I went here with my boyfriend and the food was amazing but the way I ordered my food and how my server rung it up was completely wrong. The menu says 3 tenders for $20 and some change I ordered that with red velvet waffle . I then added the extra 3 tenders like its advertised on the menu to do so for $6 and also added a red velvet waffle with a side of 4.50 plus $1 cheese grits. Now I had two drinks as well I’m not understanding why I was charged for two of the meals when that’s not what I ordered. I added on to the meal like it’s advertised to do so then added ONE waffle. I paid my tab and left a tip I just don’t like how my server rung my order up to get more money out of me when that’s not how I ordered my meal I ordered what was advertised on the menu and what was advertised on the menu obviously is a gimmick to get customers to pay more than the intended price that they wanted to pay. Thank you have a nice day the grits are cheesy just like yalls gimmicks.

Be prepared for slow service, average food, a messed up order, and an automatic 18% gratuity added to your bill, even if it's just you.

It was just okay. So where do I begin because theres alot to unpack here. We went for the 1st time for Sunday Brunch.
I liked that they had a DJ. I wasnt over the moon with the music selections but never the less it was nice.
It took a minute for the server to assist us but once she did food and drinks came out pretty fast. We had mimosas and quesidillas as a starter. I had breakfast ckn and waffles and my husband had dinner ckn mac & chz kale.
The food was fine no major gripes.
I believed she was the mgr and she was bringing out food and just very helpful. She made all the difference in our overall experience in my opinion. So thank you for being kind.
The server was so serious and she was missing attn to details here and there but I let it slide. What took me out is she brought the pay machine to the table and all she shared was the final amount. Never once offered to show us a break down of what we were charged. So I asked her to show to me. There was an 18% gratuity and she didnt add my military discount. Of course she corrected the bill but that rubbed me the wrong way.
And for that reason I wont be back. And one last thing they should seriously consider remodeling.

This was my first time to Johnny's and let me say from the very beginning. It was a disaster as we entered the place. It was freezing cold, they had space heaters in certain areas, but we did not get a space heater. I did not want to stay but one of the other guests did. We stayed coffee came cold lukewarm. Each cup was $4. We were not given courtesy. Complimentary refills, everything was itemized. They put 18% gratuity on the bill, and then she had nerve to ask if I wanted to do an additional tip. I don't know very good 13 customers and our bill was a 100 And 30 some dollars for breakfast? No I will not be back. And above all, our waitress was unfriendly, not helpful, not smiling and we had to remind her several times to bring what we asked for. The bill was over a $120 with a 18% gratuity for 3 people and the waitress still asked for an additional tip. No I will not be back.

The chicken and waffle restaurant offered a mixed experience. While the chicken was unfortunately cooked in old oil, which affected its flavor, the chicken salad stood out as perfect—fresh and well-prepared.

The atmosphere was lively, but I found it unusual that the bartender was drinking with customers.

This could detract from the professionalism of the service. Overall, there are some great menu items, but there are also a few areas that need improvement.

Thank you, Chloë for your great service!
