I don't usually post reviews on businesses, but this experience exceeded memories of the last encounter by a lot! I got my passports today and it was so seamless! Everyone was welcoming, and helpful. I mean everyone- from security, monitoring entry, to the agent upstairs. spent an hour waiting, and they texted me that it was ready within 3 hours. Worth the extra $60!
I had a 7:30 AM appointment - I arrived at 7:10 and there was already a line. Once inside a few minutes later, everything went smooth and very efficient. I submitted everything and out before 7:30 AM, my original appointment time! Because I had an urgent travel, they told me to come back at 2:30 PM, however, I opted it in to receive text messages if it’s ready earlier. They texted me at 9:30 AM to inform me that my passport was ready to pick up. Really appreciate their efficiency!
Thank you so much to the people here! Y’all are amazing.
The reviews say that it is a quick turnaround time in receiving your passport. That is not the case. Passport aren’t available same day until 2:30-3:30 pm.
The process, assuming you had all your required documents, is very quick and painless. I went in for a renew, arrived at 7:45am for an 8am appointment and was out by 8:32am. The lines go a lot faster if you have all your documents ready! Ms. Judy processed my renewal and she was very kind, efficient, and thorough!
This way by far the best experience I have EVER had from a government agency! Had to come from S.C. to get an expedited passport for work travel. Appt was at 830 arrived at 810 and was out by 824. Parking is a little bit of a hassle as expected right in downtown. I paid 9 dollars for 2 hour parking in a surface lot 2 ninute walk away. This agency deserves an award, recognition! Whoever is running it needs a raise!
Thank you so much for being so organized and efficient. Everyone had a smile and was helpful! Security and all passport agents, too! Way to go!
everyone was so kind, efficient and helpful. i had an appointment for 7:30 and left at 7:47 no problem. very recommended!
Friday at 1pm Security peaks from a locked door to only allow those with appointments inside. Walk-ins can NOT step foot in the building as of April 2025.
(Not sure what’s up with all the super long blog-storytime reviews on here. Just share key info plz)
All the good reviews are TRUE!!! Realizing your passport is expired after booking a vacation is the worst. Flew here the day before my trip, my appointment was at 8:30 and I was out in 10 minutes flat. My passport was ready only 4 hours later! This office lived up to the hype, VERY organized and efficient. Make sure to bring everything that’s listed on the application and you will have no issues.

Ok. I have to +1 all the good reviews of this place. VERY efficient and the employees are overall pleasant to deal with (nobody was mean or rude AT ALL). I had a 9am appointment. I was traveling 5 days after the appointment. I overestimated how much travel time I needed so arrived super early at 8:10am. When the application process was done, I was out the building at 8:45am. At 10:09am I received a text saying my passport was ready for pickup. Yes. Just 2 hours after I stepped into the building, my passport was ready for pickup. I followed the instructions exactly as mentioned in the website and didn’t bring anything extra. This was for a first time passport. The check-in person appreciated that I followed the exact instructions. Printed appointment. Printed flight itinerary. One copy of proof of citizenship. One copy of ID. Printed form pre-filled through the form tool. Originals of citizenship and ID. Nothing else. Process was smooth and all the original documents were returned along with the passport. I chose to park at the “building 2 parking garage” one block west on Ted Turner Dr NW. It was $5 for the first hour and another $5 when I went back to pick up the passport. Other lots seemed more expensive. If you park there, remember to pre-pay at the kiosk by the elevators inside the garage. Hope this helps someone.
Jeeeezus! the horror stories of long lines, frustrating waits, and unhelpful and stone faced staff, so I was expecting the worst when I walked into the Atlanta Passport Agency. It had been close to five years since I’d last stepped foot in that building, and that time, I needed to renew my daughter’s passport. But let me tell you, my experience was VIP Level.
From the moment I walked in, they ran this office like a fine-tuned Lambo. The check-in process was smooth, with document verification handled efficiently. Then, I was sent upstairs to meet with the agents. There was a number system in place to keep things organized, and I barely had to wait before I met with an agent named Anita. She was fantastic, helping me sort out a few discrepancies with my application without any issues.
I opted for the expedited, same-day processing, and the total came to around $190. The best part? They texted me when my passport was ready. I went back to pick it up from Miss Madonna, who couldn’t help but compliment my passport. She even said it looked better than Idris Elba! I don’t think she’s ever told a lie in her life!
Honestly, whoever is running this department deserves major recognition. I don’t even know these people!…. And they treated me like a diamond medallion walking into the airport lounge. They’ve got their system down to a science, and it shows in how well everything flows. …and they should run for POTUS—they clearly know how to get things done and inspire people along the way. Nice work fam!!! ✊🏾✊🏾✊🏾
Wooow. Amazing Service from start to finish. I was a little skeptical, but this was not like my experience 10 years ago. I paid $3 for street parking 1 block away. Arrived at the doors downstairs at 7:25am and there was no line. People were already inside. They retook my photo because the 3 I brought didn't work, I almost had to go across the street, but they got the camera working🙏🏽🙏🏽. I was out the door by 8:02am and made it to work by 8:30am. Thankkk you all so much!!!🫶🏽🫶🏽🤗🤗 Ready to give another 5 stars when I pick up my passport!!!
We booked an online appointment for urgent passport renewal for my wife. Her appointment was for 10:30 am. We arrived early expecting to have to wait. Nope, they got us right in, processed on the first floor and then sent us to the 10th floor to wait for her number to be called. We were actually finished and on our way home by 10:15!
This office is super organized and efficient y’all! We were expecting an all day goat rope but were super pleasantly surprised by the friendly, courteous, professional and efficient operation of this office!
Sign the application for the day of the appointment. Read the directions carefully. Print EVERYTHING that you can possibly think you may need to support your request for the urgent renewal. Have it organized and ready in a folder.
The Indigo Hotel next door to the Passport Office offers valet parking for $55.00. Yes, it’s expensive but it’s for the entire day in case you are getting a same day renewal (because you will have to come back at 2:30 pm to receive your passport with a same day renewal). Otherwise you’ll have to find a public parking lot a few blocks away.
Kudos again to the best government office experience I’ve had in my 65 years!
I am from Chicago and had a connecting flight the next day Friday to go to Panama. I realized my passport expired in two months and Panama required 3 months. I was so worried about missing my whole birthday trip I was scrambling to renew my passport. Chicago did not offer any more day of appts and it was too late. I took a risk and was able to schedule an appointment in Atlanta the next morning, during my layover. Landed in ATL 8:45am, passport appt 10am next flight to Panama 4pm. I just knew this wasn't going to work and that my paid trip was going to go to waste. I got to my appt on time, with all the materials requested including my flight in a couple of hours, and prayed for a miracle. When I arrived, I showed my appt confirmation and they let me up. The waiting area was already full but I took my number and waited. My number was called about 45 mins later and I only spent a few minutes at the window. The window says day of passports given between 2:30-3:30pm. I thought, if they give it to me at 3:30pm I would not make my flight....so nervous the whole time. I asked at the window if there was a way for me to get it earlier...she couldn't guarantee, but said she would walk to the back where they processed the passports and they would send me a text when it was ready. I went to have a bite to eat and a few drinks in the area. Shortly after 1pm I got the text, and went to pick up my passport. I was elated and grateful. All of the staff were so efficient and do an amazing job. I have never seen a government agency work so efficiently, I mean from all the staff including security. In all, I was able to make it back to ATL with time to spare for my flight to Panama...I had such an amazing time, I can't believe I almost missed it. Thanks to Atlanta Passport Agency staff for saving my bday trip, and a lot of money I would have wasted :) The best!
