Joey D's has extraordinary service. Angelia was phenomenal. She kept our glasses full without asking, and she kept our table cleared so we could have room. She was prompt and just on top of everything. This is not to say that other servers aren't good because they are. It's her delivery and syle that I think sets her a part from the pact. If you're a regular and have had her, you know what I'm talking about. She's really good! The food is fantastic. I really would like to see Joey D's add asparagus, sautéed spinach, and braised collards to the menu. The mushrooms and carrots don't work. It doesn't pair well with the BBQ entrees and definitely not the steak. I'd also like to see a tomato bisque and bruschetta offered. The French Onion soup is extraordinary and probably the best on that side of town. It's definitely in the top 10 among Atlanta eaterys. Other than that, this is a great establishment. The service is extraordinary and the food is good. You won't be disappointed.
Our meal was wonderful starting with drinks and calamari then our salad, baked potato and steak were excellent. Our server did a terrific job...Thanks!!!
We have made going to Joey's a treat every month this year and have repeatedly given it a 5 star rating. However, yesterday (Sunday July 13) was a disappointing experience. We took a couple of friends to introduce them to the restaurant and everything was fine except the food. We all ordered the corned beef sandwich and when the mess came, the meat was tough and chewy. Very unlike JoeyD's. We did not send the sandwiches back because we were hungry but I think this needs to noted. We're not going to give up on Joey's because of one bad experience out of the last 8 months but hope that our dinner next month meets your normal high standards. Art Schultz
We haven't been to Joey D's for dinner in quite some time. So we met some friends there and were very happy with our experience and food. Our server, Alex (Alexandra) was super fun and engaging and that also made it a memorable experience. Everyone was happy with their food and the ambiance was attractive, had a good vibe and the noise level was perfect providing energy but not too loud. We will return soon!
This is my favorite restaurant! Service and the food is always excellent. Cookie Holiday is the best server can't wait to have dinner here again.
I know joey d's oakroom for many years. For appetizer we the head on shrimp and baked oysters. They were good, we had a spirited discussion on whether the massive amount of oil or butter, was butter or oil. Someone stated that if it was refrigerated, it would gel as butter does, the comeback was, so does crisco. The house salad looked very nice with all the fix-ins, eggs, bacon bits, cucumber, etc., i opted for the Caesar with freshly grated parmesan. Well, it was the wood-chip parmesan, just like i get at home, when i'm desperate. The main course, saved the dining experience. You will have trouble finding a better prime rib, with the option of cream or pure horseradish. Other entries were the filet salad and beef rib. All good. I usually get the Rubin sandwich, and it's really good. We enjoyed the cheesecake, that and a bourbon, all good. It was a friendly staff, although under staffed, they meant to please, and did so. Bon appetite!
This is as much a suggestion as it is a restaurant review. I love to eat and write about eating, and could not come close to telling you what the flavor profile for a proper ceviche is. We all read and comment and for the most part a lot of us don't know one another and have not, and likely will not, ever meet. It was time to change that. I reached out to several people who comment on and read my stuff, and I theirs, and asked if it would be possible for a group of us to have dinner together.. and the response was a resounding yes. So last night Lynn Rudd Embs, Kathy Grant, and I met at Joey D's and had a wonderful meal. We missed Emily McIntyre as she was under the weather. We laughed. We talked about family. Pets. Kids and vacations. And yes, some Dunwoody politics. But mostly it was three people just saying hello and nice to meet you and we should all do more of that. Oh... the meal was excellent. Appetizers of croissants and a shrimp cocktail. Lynn didn't want a shrimp so there were two huge shrimp apiece for Kathy and I. Salads. House salad for Kathy and I reverted to my usual Caesar. And a variety of entrees to include a Delmonico steak, a corned beef sandwich, and for me, fish. Yes... fish, with a new side of Brussel sprouts. The sprouts were good but could have used a little more drizzle,,, if you follow... Service was on point as usual. We had a great bottle of wine that I wish they would put on their menu. I have to tell you folks, it was a very enjoyable evening.
We love Joey D's service and food is always consistent. Our server Steven was amazing! It's definitely our neighborhood favorite!
We were here to celebrate a birthday with my Beau. Our server Alex was sweet, helpful, and made the experience memorable!
My husband's chopped steak was quite tasty. My salad with 4-5 ounces of chicken breast was terrible. The salad was very good, the chicken was hard and very dry. I sent the chicken back and ordered another piece of chicken. After waiting 20 minutes,I cancelled the whole order. It shouldn't have taken 20 minutes to grill a 5 ounce piece of chicken. The manager came, apologized and offered another dish. I didn't want anything else.

I go out to wonderful Atlanta restaurants frequently. There is really nothing like a great evening in a fabulous restaurant with terrific food and fantastic service and a dinner companion with whom you love to share. If you are looking for this type of experience, then Joey D's is your place. A delicious filet mignon was my choice, and my brother had the very best prime rib I have ever seen. Andrew, Kaylee and their crew are simply the best. Once you try this great place, you will no doubt return.
Delicious food. My only quibble is that we noted in our reservation that it was our anniversary but it was not acknowledged at any time.
Booked here for the Prime Rib. Always a great deal, and very delicious. Get the ice cream sundae. Service was impeccable. Tony did a great job taking care of us.
Joey D's is one of our favorites. The food is constantly excellent, as is the service. Love their chopped steak with fried onions, babyback ribs, Manhattan Chef Salad ( has corned beef in it). M. OSmsheroff
The restaurant ran out of food, specifically, meatballs, which we always get. Our server was great. I also noticed the wings were smaller. Though it came with 8, the size was small. The restaurant also skimped on the calamari. The smaller portions is notable.
