This food reminds me of being home in the Bronx and getting authentic Puerto Rican food. I had the lunch special of “vaca fritta” with rice, beans and of course tostones. The beef was fresh and cooked in the oven with lots of flavor and onions. Such a good and filling lunch meal deal that I had to save some for dinner. I’ll be back to try the other 5 lunch deals.

Amazing experience here at La tropical. Service was stunning by Breily and Laurencio. In top on everything and very welcoming. Alan, such hard worker back there in the kitchen! The only thing was the tostones were too grassy but besides that, everything tasted good. Will I come back? yes!!

I ordered the ropa vieja mofongo which I've had before. Within 10 minutes of eating it I had pretty bad stomach cramping, bloating, felt the urge to vomit, and started sweating (mind you, there was no spice in the food). Never again

I'm still dreaming about the incredible food from La Tropical! The food was hands-down one of the best I've ever had - it tasted just like home, like my friend's mom had made it. The carne frita rice and bean bowl was also amazing. The service was top-notch, thanks to the wonderful Hernandez and Brenda - they're truly amazing people. Mofongo was flavorful, soft, and perfect. Had it with ropa vieja and a side of mamposteao rice. SO GOOD. Most authentic PR food I’ve had here. Tasted like my abuelas house. Will be back! Owner is so sweet!!!

La Tropical is amazing! I had a Medalla to drink, Bacalaitos for an appetizer, and mofongo con Churrasco for my main dish — everything was 10/10. My mom had the mofongo con carne frita. The bacalaitos were incredible. Crispy, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned they brought back memories of my childhood trips to the baseball park in Puerto Rico. The food was delicious, full of authentic flavor, and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. I can’t wait to go back!

The workers are very friendly. The food and drinks are overpriced. 14 dollars for a basic cocktail is insane. Two meals and one drink cost us over 60 dollars. Mofongo has no flavor. Ropa Vieja was actually decent. Rice and beans were basic. The roasted pork was horrible. Very dry, no flavor and it tasted old. I’m Puerto Rican and I don’t see this place representing our food at its best sadly. I was hoping for better.

Let me tell you something! 10 out of 10 this food is amazing. The flavor is authentic, and the food is cooked to order hot and fresh. The rice by itself well cooked and well flavored. The beans and juicy and delicious. I 100% would come here every day if I could, this will be my next stop when I go back to Atlanta.
