I really enjoyed this restaurant! The tacos were incredible – I tried the pastor, asada, and cochinita, and each one had such amazing flavor. The pastor was perfectly seasoned and juicy, the asada was tender with a great char, and the cochinita was packed with rich, delicious spices. On top of that, the service was excellent – everyone was friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. Highly recommend if you’re looking for authentic and flavorful tacos with great hospitality.
I don’t understand why people have to complain about things that aren’t really true. I’ve been to this place twice and everything is magnificent: the flavor, the atmosphere, the staff. They treat you like family. I was reading the previous reviews, and for sure, there are people who just want to harm others or gain some benefit. To those reading this, treat yourself to the delights this new place offers, I recommend it without a doubt.
WARNING! Something is up with this restaurant. I wish I had taken photos of my food to prove myself better. But take my word for it. The pictures in reviews does NOT match the food that was served. Super amateur, like a college kid putting together a taco. They used mission brand tortilla from Walmart. Pre cooked cocktail shrimps , layered it with those packaged salad in grocery stores. Then drizzled some chipotle sauce you buy from Publix. I cannot emphasize what a joke of a restaurant it was. It’s an open kitchen and you can see everything. That kitchen looks clean, there’s nothing in that kitchen. It’s clean but idk if that kitchen is being used to cook.
Excellent food and ambiance. Fast and delicious.
I had gotten tacos at Machete once before, but my friend had not. We ended up at Machete on a Tuesday taco night. The service from the get-go was great and attentive. We started with cheese dip (I take it without jalapeños) and some of their amazingly light chips. My friend got one of each of the tacos on special, and I got the Empanadas. The food was freshly prepared and excellent. I would like to try some of the other menu items, as there's a lot to choose from. My friend said if he came on Tuesday again, he'd choose one chicken and two pork tacos.
Machete is quickly turning into one of my favorite neighborhood places.
Ordered the chicken torta and the chicken tacos
I asked to add jalapenos and fajita veggies to the tortas
Tortas were good but not something I would come back and get
Tacos were goodish I just wished the chicken was cooked better
Overall food was good but I probably won’t be back

First time here in ATL
I stopped by this Mexican restaurant for the first time today, and I was seriously impressed. From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere felt warm and welcoming. The staff was friendly, attentive, and happy to answer a few questions about the menu since it was my first visit.
You can tell they put pride into their food and service. Prices were reasonable, portions were generous, and the food came out hot and fast. I also really appreciated how clean and cozy the place was.
If you’re looking for authentic Mexican food and a great experience overall, definitely give this place a try. I’m already planning to come back and try more from the menu!

Absolutely incredible experience!
This place is a hidden gem for authentic Mexican food. The shrimp tacos were hands down the best I've ever had—perfectly seasoned, fresh, and packed with flavor. The ceviche with mango was a standout too: bright, zesty, and so refreshing.
What really made it special, though, was the hospitality. The staff was so warm and welcoming, I felt right at home— (located in Atlanta, Georgia, where Southern charm is a way of life.
If you're craving real Mexican flavors and genuine, friendly service, this is the spot. Wish i had this back home!
Staff was extremely nice! My wife and I just moved to the area and were excited to try this place. While the staff was extremely nice, it did feel a bit chaotic in there. My wife is Mexican and I’ve been to Mexico multiple times. I hate to say this but this is not good authentic Mexican food. The pastor tacos and salsas lacked flavor. My wife got the shrimp cocktail and while it was tasty there were some things missing that you would typically get with a shrimp cocktail. Whom we assumed were the owners, while they spoke Spanish , were definitely not Mexican. Living in Chamblee means you get access to good authentic Mexican food, so it is a bit disappointing when you find a place like this charging what they are. We love tex mex, and would have rather it be a tex Mex style restaurant.
Awesome food and waiters! Im not much of a photographer but I enjoyed the dinner. I’ll definitely go back with friends!
