There are not enough words to truly express what Marcel means to my family. Located in Atlanta, it is without question one of the best restaurants I have ever been to — but for us, it will always be so much more than that.
We ordered a little bit of everything, wanting to experience as much as possible. Every dish was extraordinary — perfectly cooked steaks, rich and thoughtful sides, and desserts that felt like a celebration. The food was flawless. But what made the evening unforgettable was not just what was on the table — it was the people standing around it.
This was my father’s last dinner out. He has been battling cancer for quite some time and is no longer able to go anywhere now. We didn’t know how many more “normal” moments we would get together as a family, and that night meant everything to us. The staff at Marcel treated us with such genuine kindness, warmth, and grace. They were AMAZING in every sense of the word. Their accommodations, their attentiveness, the way they made my father feel comfortable and honored — it touched us more deeply than I can explain.
They didn’t just serve a meal. They gave my father dignity, joy, and a beautiful evening surrounded by family. They gave us a memory we will hold onto forever.

Okay, let’s talk about that Caesar salad because it deserves its moment. Fresh romaine, house-made dressing that actually tastes homemade, and that fresh peppercorn on top just brought everything together. It was simple but done so well — and that’s what makes the difference. Now the steak? Whew. Tender, juicy, and packed with flavor. No sauce needed, it stood on its own. Every bite was cooked exactly how we asked, and you could tell the quality was there. That’s why Marcel stays in rotation. It’s consistent, classy, and always delivers. Whether it’s date night or just treating yourself, you know you’re going to leave happy. We had such a good experience from start to finish. Definitely planning our next visit already.

Had a reservation for 9pm but wasn’t sat down until 9:30. Started off with Caesar salad and shrimp scampi which was delicious! For main we had the porterhouse for 2 with brandy au poivre, corn gratin and pomme dauphinoise. Steak was ok nothing really spectacular. Sides were really good no complaints there. Ended with a cream brûlée which was creamy and sweet how i like it. Would i go back again? Yes i would but for everything else besides the steak!

Full disclosure: We went on Valentine’s Day and they were serving a fixed menu. Let’s start with the ambiance, absolutely amazing. The low lighting created a romantic, almost speakeasy style vibe that felt perfect for a steakhouse. It set the tone for a great evening. .
The staff was even more impressive. I’m not usually someone who strikes up long conversations with bartenders or servers, but if that’s your style, they will absolutely match your energy and make you feel welcome. We sat at the bar (my mistake, I didn’t book the reservation correctly), and the bartender was fantastic. Attentive, friendly, and professional without being overbearing. .
Now to the important part, the food. The quality of the ingredients was undeniable. Everything tasted fresh, and the steak itself was clearly high grade. You could tell care went into sourcing the meat and produce. Quality: 4.5/5. Where things fell short for me was flavor. I’m not a professional chef, but I’m a strong home cook, and the dishes felt under seasoned across the board. It didn’t seem like a mistake everything followed the same pattern, so it appeared intentional. It almost felt as though the kitchen was overly cautious with seasoning. I understand that high quality steak and vegetables shouldn’t be overpowered, but there was very little salt or pepper on the steak or sides. Nothing tasted bad it just never crossed into memorable. Nothing made me fall in love or want more. .
Finally, the price. Again, this was Valentine’s Day with a fixed menu, and everything was fully disclosed upfront, no surprises or tricks. Dinner for two (1 appetizer, 2 salads, a 20oz steak, 1 dessert, and a couple of drinks) came out to $700. I knew what I was signing up for. My only issue is that at that price point, I expected the flavors to reflect the cost. Unfortunately, they didn’t. . Overall: A beautiful atmosphere and outstanding service paired with high quality ingredients, but the execution on flavor didn’t match the premium pricing.

We were a group of six from Montana who were in Atlanta for one night about three weeks ago. Of all the restaurants I looked at ahead of time, I chose Marcel. And what a fabulous choice that turned out to be!!! We were graciously greeted and escorted to a beautiful table. The wait staff was exceptional!! I counted no less than three and sometimes four staff waiting on us throughout our meal. We were comped a couple amazingly delicious dishes before the main course. The manager came out personally and conversed with us. The attention our group received was extraordinary on all levels!! The meals we ordered were exquisitely prepared! Exceptionally delicious! Our steaks were cooked to perfection!!! If any of us ever find ourselves in Atlanta again, Marcel’s will always be the restaurant we will choose.
