This was our second time and it definitely was not like the first time! The first time was absolutely to die for. Steak was amazing and they even wiped the crumbs off the table for you during the meal. This second time, the steak was very very charred and not well seasoned . Lobster and rice was super salty. Bread is always a hit but definitely didn’t feel like the first time. Not sure if I’ll be back.

This is the quintessential classic steakhouse with a modern twist. The food is incredible and the service is impeccable. It is not cheap, but it is worth every penny.

Our new favorite date night restaurant whenever we’re in Atlanta. Atmosphere and attention to detail are phenomenal. Sonny and Vino took excellent care of our every need and made the evening perfectly enjoyable. Steak and accompaniments were also delicious of course. I recommend the baked Alaska for dessert…

Awesome restaurant! I’ve had multiple experiences here to my liking. I’ve also heard from ten to twenty people that they treat their staff really well, which is awesome. I can’t wait to eat here again and support their family!

The most incredible restaurant in Atlanta, from ambiance, to service to the cuisine. The number one place I think of just to drop in for drinks and a light bite or to have our most special moments like an anniversary or promotion. It's romantic, but not stuffy, and the experience is in the details. Bread service, as simple as it sounds, will shift the expectations for bread service for the rest of your life. The last time we visited we watched a series of events unfold for a certain couple that peaked our attention. After asking our waiter, they told us they were celebrating their engagement & first night in their new home. The manager knew about the proposal & wanted to capture them celebrating at Marcel - not only did they bring in a professional camera, but offered to send them prints so it could be the first photo they hung in their new house together. I don't know of any other restaurant that goes this above & beyond for their guests. If you aren't a local, Marcel may just make you want to be.

This is mine and my husband's second time here to celebrate another special occasion. The first time was back in 2021 and we really enjoyed it. We enjoyed it so much we wanted to come back and try one of their speciality dinner as our meal. We ordered the Beef Wellington. We called 24 hours in advance to request it for our meal. When we were seated, we were greeted and thanked for considering them for our special occasion. The servers brought out a griddled focaccia bread in olive oil, along with ricotta cheese, olives and peppers. It was very delicious and even our three year old who joined us for dinner really enjoyed it. We didn't have to wait long for the Beef Wellington to arrive at our table. We probably only waited 30 minutes or less before it was brought out to us. We ordered it medium as it was my husband's birthday and he likes his steaks medium. I would have preferred it was medium well. There were parts that were slightly chewy than others but I really think that had to do with how my husband wanted it cooked. It was still delicious especially eating it in that puff pastry. The beef Wellington accompanied our dinner with two shareable sides. We ordered the cacio e pepe and the creamed corn au gratin. Now I have had the cacio e Pepe before and didn't think too much of it but this second time was definitely different. It was so much more delicious the second time I had it. I felt like it had more of a buttery cheese taste to it than the first time I had it. The creamed corn was savory. The taste of the creamed corn had a deep and rich taste to it almost like eating au gratin potatoes. For dessert my husband ordered the crème brûlée. I have had crème brûlée at another steakhouse and it was not even close to being as good as we had at Marcel. Marcel's crème brûlée is absolutely divine. The dish was deep enough for our spoon to go down into and it was delicious. The restaurant is quite dark, too dark for me, even when heading to the bathroom. But I do understand that steakhouses usually have low lighting for the ambiance.Parking: You can park in the parking deck which is feet away from the restaurant. Parking was under $8 if you stayed no more than 4 hours.

So I will start by saying this was the best steak I have ever had(not including Wagyu) If that's all you need to know. Quick review. I want to talk about the people . We wanted a good steak but we didn't want to go to Ruth's Chris. I'm from NYC, of course I'm tired of Ruth's Chris. So I called, and had the pleasure of speaking with Victoria. Rarely does someone in service sound so friendly on the phone. On a night where OpenTable told us no Victoria found a way to say yes. When we got there finding the restaurant wasn't exactly intuitive (after you've parked,) it's a big shopping area and if you don't know where you're going you can get spun around very easily.Once we found it, we walked into this dimly lit incredibly intimate space. Victoria was in front and immediately found a space for us (All I'm going to say is representation matters.) she also asked our water preference. In my experience this is usually done once you're seated . It's such a subtle thing but it made the service feel just a bit quicker which is always the goal. She led us to our seats and as we walked past a huge bar I was stunned by how large the space was. from outside you would think this was a small 20-30 seater restaurant. But it is significantly larger.Once we were seated the production began Tod one of our servers came over to greet us. He continued the friendly feeling we received from Victoria. As we sat the still water we chose was being poured and then Mark S. Arrived.I told Victoria we were from New York, so I can't say for sure whether Mark S. Being from NY was serendipity or proper planning but it was a touch I appreciated.Whenever I go to this Calibur of a restaurant I like to challenge the bartender with a drink not on the menu. I have been drinking White Negroni's lately. I shared the ingredients and the bartender didn't disappoint. As we waited for our drinks we served some of the most unique bread I've ever had. I won't even try to describe it. I will simply say GET THE BREAD, GET TWO SERVINGS OF THE BREAD ITS DELICIOUS.Mark checked in with the perfect amount of frequency he is a master of his craft. We ordered the porterhouse for two we got it medium rare. My girlfriend who will die on the hill of well done steak.Even she, had to admit the perfection we experienced the quality of the cut of meat, with some of the best mashed potatoes I've ever had, and a few scallops for good measure. It was truly one of the best dining experiences I have ever had.We finished off with a dessert recommended by Mark. I was a bit unsober, so I only remember there was ice cream on top of it.The entire experience was wonderful as we left I only had one thought " I wish we could've sat near the bar I would've loved to see the bartenders do their thing. Our drinks were so good I would've loved to see the process but considering our last minute reservation I totally understand why it wasn't possible.I'm not a big fan of Atlanta but Marcel will be bringing me back.Parking: Paid parking but they do validate.

We went to Marcels for the baked Alaska on my birthday. Staff were all kind and the hosts sat us quickly without a reservation. Really beautiful interior, luxurious and comfortable without being pompous. Our server Allison H, was so extremely kind and talented. She brought our drinks quickly and had great recs for us. Mine was the Man O War and my partners was the Vieux Carre. Both superb cocktails. Allison was extremely well versed in serving the baked Alaska - she could do it in her sleep! And extremely fun to talk to, she was professional and candid, making our time that much more meaningful. We loved our experience here. My partners first baked Alaska, my second, but never our last time at Marcels. Altogether a beautiful, warm and sweet evening. Thank you!

I went with a party of 15. We were on a per-diem and they could tell. Also mandatory tip so you know what that means.Service was attentive but slow. Drinks were very slow. Appetisers were missing on a few and french onion soup and bone marrow were cool. The $40 hamburger app was very well done and dry.Steaks were as ordered and while maybe not worth $150 per acceptable. Sides were again not the ordered variety or quantities but covered the table.Dessert and coffee was sporadic taking 25min to set up baked Alaska. In all we arrived at 7:30 for a 7:45 reservation. We left at 10:45 with a bill of $2750 before applied tip. There are better steaks and service in Atlanta to be had.For singles to 6-8 party I really cannot suggest The Highland Tap strongly enough.
