Me and my family were in town to visit the aquarium. After a great walk through downtown and hours spent at the aquarium we were ready for a good meal. We ended up finding a great meal and amazing service. Being from Indiana shrimp and grits is not a meal I get often but love. The Cajun shrimp and grits were delicious. My wife got the salmon and grits and it too was great. My daughter got the San Francisco Salad and that was a hit with her. We all split a bourbon bread pudding and red velvet cake both great. The beer was cold and good. Our server was very attentive and you could tell loves his job. Overall it was a great experience and we will be back.

Richard & Tanya are the best Atlanta have to offer. If you don’t come visit them, you are missing out on a good time. Don’t be a dummy, come to Max Lager’s

Exactly what you would expect from a downtown Atlanta restaurant over priced mediocre food with absolutely trash service imagine like a dine in McDonald’s that serves alcohol

Visiting Atlanta for the first time. Max Lagers was clo a e to my hotel and sounded good....and rhe food is good, and worth the wait. The service is mixed. Really friendly and nice staff...but inattentive, slow, and disorganized sized. O have really mixed feelings about the place. Super cool atmosphere, good beer, and good food....but not sure I'm coming back.

Atmosphere was great, and there were a lot of people! Wings were mediocre at best (buffalo was sweet, oddly enough, so it wasn't buffalo) and the Caesar salad was clearly a bag and not made in the restaurant. Food delivery at the table was slow. Marguerite pizza and their fries were AMAZING though!

Fantastic experience every time I come here.
Food is fantastic, portions are plentiful, the staff is cheerful and informative. The beer selection is also very nice.
Not as pricey as some of the other steakhouses in the area. Definitely on my list of recommended restaurants in downtown Atlanta.

I USED TO LOVE THIS PLACE, now look what they've done to the pizza. It is the same price and they make them so small now, a pizza used to be good for 2 people, now you'll have to order one or two for each one. It's a real shame because the beer and service are excellent. If you are a regular of the restaurant, please speak up about this!

Flew in, walked around down town. Landed on this establishment. Listen… the Grouper was Perfect, as well as our Asparagus. But the star of the show was Devin S. Dude was running the show by himself and was nothing but accommodating! Great recommendations! Pay him more! He’s what this place is about! Even thanked us for the business.

Solid food, cheerful staff, and plenty of seating options. The creole BBQ shrimp was by far the best thing we ate - it was so flavorful and tender. We also got fried chicken - which was perfectly fried, although could have used a little more seasoning. The greens were a little sweet for us, but beautifully cooked and worth eating. We also got the farm fresh pizza - which was very delicious, but the center was soggy from the vegetables. The crust was so fluffy and flavorful not at the center though. We also got the beer cheese mac, which was creamy, but also lacked seasoning.

As for the drinks, they had a great selection of house brews, partner brews, and other canned craft options. They had a couple of NA options as well, which was nice to see. The dragon fruit Meade was amazing.

To close off the meal, we got the fried cheesecake, which was somewhat of a let down. Although the fry on it was really good and the ice cream paired with it was bomb, the cheesecake on its own was very dense and lacking the cream cheese layers. It seemed to be marbled with other flavorings that wasn't in the description. Wasn't bad, but wasn't good.

All in all, would recommend coming out to this place, and would be excited to try more of their offerings.

I had an incredible experience at Max Lager’s Wood-Fired Grill in downtown Atlanta! From the moment I walked in, the service was outstanding. Tonia, my server, was absolutely phenomenal attentive, kind, and made sure everything was perfect throughout my visit.

The highlight of my meal was the fried chicken, crafted by Chef Blake. It was nothing short of phenomenal crispy, flavorful, and cooked to absolute perfection. Hands down some of the best I’ve ever had.

Between the amazing food, warm atmosphere, and world-class service, Max Lager’s has earned a permanent spot on my list of must-visit restaurants in Atlanta. I’ll definitely be back soon!

Stopped in late afternoon. Wife and I shared wings and a pizza, both pretty good. The atmosphere was lovely and the service was top-notch.
