Took my mom who was visiting from out of town to Murphy's after we checked out the botanical gardens. We both ordered salad and added grilled shrimp. It was a fresh and delicious salad. Such a great spot to get cozy and catch up while enjoying amazing food!

Upon entering Murphy's Restaurant, I was greeted warmly, setting a positive tone for the evening. The food certainly lived up to expectations, offering a delicious dining experience. However, the service fell short, requiring me to fetch basic amenities like a straw and napkin on multiple occasions. Despite this, the energy within the establishment was decent, although I couldn't help but notice a few curious stares--perhaps due to my frequent smiling. LOL. Overall, while the food was a highlight, the service left something to be desired. Valet parking or curbside in the neighborhood. Nice.

Lovely food, service, ambiance. Great lobster roll! We had a nice ladies lunch and we're amazed how busy it was on a Thursday. My companion bought me the Murphys recipe book and it was so interesting! I've always loved the area and have had lots of relatives that lived nearby, but I learned so much about the evolution of the area and the restaurant!

I'm trying to reach Joy Pugh or the operation manager concerning an mis-charge on a credit card. I've spoken twice with the manager Brian and twice with Ashton. I believe I'm being misled. Brian has provided a fraudulent email. I have tried to fix the problem for most of March Please call me at (678) 362-9162. Thank you, Annette St. Onge

Murphy's, the omnipresent and iconic VA Highlands staple, has been on my list for years, but we never found the right time to go until a recent happy hour. While we enjoyed our time at their cozy bar, we ultimately failed to see what all the hype is about that keeps this spot packed weekend after weekend. A bit of a relic, this spot has an '80's fine dining feel that, while fun in a way, fails to compete with the recent crop of trendy spots that have sprung up in this neighborhood in recent years. We took a seat at their bar after perusing their cute wine shop (which itself warrants a return visit), and settled on drinks- admittedly delicious white wine for her and a nice, fragrant herbal martini for me. The drinks were nice, but our food failed to deliver. While the shishitos were good, the cheese plate was basic and a bit paltry, while the ricotta toast was a bit weird. Service was friendly, if not a bit scattered, and the place overall- from the stained napkins to the dirty bar top- just seemed a bit neglected. Murphy's certainly remains a place to see and be seen, but it might be a bit past its prime in terms of being a dining destination.

Came here for weekend brunch with a group and we had a great time. I had a mango mimosa which was very refreshing and our table started off with the calamari appetizer. The calamari was super fresh and great. For my meal, I got the Eggs Santa Fe with home fries on the side. It tasted awesome and even better with some hot sauce! As a note, reservations are likely VERY necessary - it was super busy! Also, we found street parking, but they have a valet service right across the street for the restaurant.

As always the food is amazing at Murphy's, couple that with incredible service and a super chill, but upscale vibe and you can't go wrong! Try the Spinach and Sausage meatloaf... Elevated Comfort Food !!

I've been going to Murphys since they were on Los Angeles in the Highlands. Went here for brunch before Hamilton. It's still a great place to go. I recommend it regularly. I ordered the crab cakes Benedict. It was ok. Good flavor, but I don't believe it was all crabmeat. Lots of filler. Now I'll say it's hard to please me when it comes to crabcakes. I'm from Baltimore. But this was off. The grits and bloody mary were great. I will definitely come back. I just won't get that.

Came here for dinner while in town. Varied menu. Service was good and nice ambiance. No bread service with dinner. Ordered calamari which was decent. Lobster roll with a small side ceaser was ok for $28. Steak Frites was $29 and came with 5 pieces of meat and fries. Nothing to write home about Thai salad for $18 was very good with grilled chicken. Pasta dish and lobster Cobb salad were also good. Salad was large and worth the $26. Bread pudding for $12 was good but small portion.

I went here for the first to grab lunch with a friend, and it did NOT disappoint. The quality and atmosphere were great. Cozy and intimate. We had the ricotta grilled sourdough and shishito peppers for apps and entrees, chicken burger, and atlantic salmon. All was amazing! We ended up with key lime pie for dessert, which was good because you can taste the coconut flakes. To top everything off, they have a full-time barista on site, and we opted in for some coffee. Vanilla latte was delicious. Murphy is the place! You won't walk away disappointed.

Murphy's is a great brunch spot - delicious, fresh food & yummy drinks. Atmosphere and service are spot on. Will continue to come back, especially when guests are in town.

What a great place! Casual comfort. Went on a Friday night. Glad we had a reservation! We were seated right away. Everything was spot on. Our server was timely and efficient. Always there when we needed him and not when we didn't. Drinks and food were varied and wonderful. All the way to dessert...... And we know dessert! Highly recommend Murphy's. Pretty sure you won't be disappointed.

Came here for brunch, the ambiance is cute! Service is good and quick! The food was good, I honestly wasn't a huge fan of the crabcake Benedict, tasted a little too fishy for me but everything else was great.

Unfortunately, the staff is not well informed on allergens present in dishes. Several staff members (including the manager) were unable to answer questions regarding items that were safe to consume for a member of our party. When we asked to speak to the chef directly (after attempting to order three times), we were told he was too busy with a large table. While the food our party members without allergies received was decent, we will not be dining here as the staff cannot be trusted to provide a safe meal. Please exercise extreme caution if dining at this establishment with allergies.

Hadn't been in awhile, and visited with the girls for brunch over the weekend. Very consistent. Breakfast potatoes are definitely worth the visit. Manager Ryan was very accommodating to our increased party size. Patio (despite the cold) was okay. Will have to add this back into the rotation.
