Food was great & the staff were very nice. The restaurant itself was not clean. You could visibly see how dirty the tables were & the one we were seated at needed to be wiped down as well. They were out of most of the drinks on their menu & the waiter was not knowledgeable.

I was celebrating my birthday on Sunday when me, my son and sister stopped by to have lunch. The food was bland and not very seasoned. I told the waitress it was my birthday and to tell Chef to make me something special. She must not have told him or her because I didn’t get anything. I didn’t get a birthday cake or anyone sing happy birthday to me. I was a little hurt and disappointed that it was my birthday and no one cared. I will not come back!
Service was awful and there's an automatic 20% tip added (doesn't have to be a large party). The food was burnt, and some items came out sparingly making your meal incomplete foe hours. Asked for manager, she wouldn't or couldn't come address our issues and had several complaints. At least four. Patrons were talking amongst themselves and asking if everyone was having problems. On top of that the prices are extremely operated for the quality of food. Left with a $450 tab for 4 people, and we didn't even eat everything because of the quality.
If you like Caribbean food - this is good! Plus good music from the dj (if you like reggae) 😎
So the food isn’t as good as it used to be but that’s not the issue. we saw that they added a 20% tip for parties of TWO, but forgot about it by the time the bill came. The service was really bad that evening, and when they gave me the machine i noticed it had a suggested tip of three low percentages. I had a whole conversation with the waiter how he should tell the manager to get that fixed as they were suggesting really low tips and the staff was going to get screwed. i then bypassed the suggestion and left 20% (even though they didn’t deserve that but it has to be horrible for me to leave less). Another person brought me my receipt and didn’t say anything. It was clear that I gave them a 40% tip and they stayed silent. And I know they were hoping I wouldn’t notice? the few times I’ve left a tip that size, the staff always says “thank you”. Yes, i forgot. but when i specifically said to the waiter the machine was “broken” and should be fixed, and then left 20%, they should have reminded me that 20% was already added. Unethical at best.
Good customer service, mediocre food, slow kitchen, not worth the wait or price. I really wanted to like this place, but the food was not authentic Jamaican. I ordered j*** chicken. The chicken just tasted like charred BBQ chicken, no j*** flavor, the cabbage was just short of raw and unseasoned, can't give opinion on the rice& peas because the little bit that I got was mixed in the cabbage. Disappointed. But the servers, especially the young lady from NYC and the Jamaican Bartender, were very hospitable.
This Amazing restaurant is a short walk from the Fox Theatre and situated in an old firehouse. The Caribbean menu has many options for all dietary needs. We had shrimp and grits and brown stew chicken which was fall of the bone tender. Both dishes were hearty and flavorful. There was a full bar with great drinks. Everyone from the hostess to the waitstaff were friendly and accommodating. We couldn’t ask for anything better and will be back.
We needed a pre-theatre dinner and we won the lottery by finding this place. The vibe is energetic, the service was friendly and the food delicious!!! The prices were very reasonable like most places in Atlanta. The oxtail pasta was unbelievably good. The portions are very large so be careful. We didn't order an apps and had zero room for dessert. If we were able to go again (and I would) I'd split an app and the main with someone so I could have something sweet at the end!
Ordered from here at a festival in piedmont park. I must say really great oxtails stew. Quick service and mixed with the rice, plantains and cabbage. I ate it so fast I forgot to take a picture lol. I will definitely recommend this to more people. The only problems I had was that the amount of food I got was less than $20 worth and is that their card machine wasn’t working but on the other hand I did get my food for free so thank you very much.

Based on the reviews, I was looking forward to a high level dining experience which was not the case at Negril ATL. If you've ever visited the NY location don't expect the same level of service as the ATL location. Service was slow and the managers were not helpful at all! One gentleman (manager) was literally sitting as a customer drinking alcohol from the bar while working! Super unprofessional!! After waiting 20 mins to be greeted, we were given glasses of water (which were tap) and the ability to order. This is a big deal because you have to pay almost $20 to park for 3 hours! In addition to paying for parking, a restaurant with dishes starting around $20 should not be serving customers sink water. We ordered appetizers that came after our food that we had to wait an additional 45 minutes for. There was nothing done to rectify the situation or place our minds at ease as potential repeat customers. From this experience and recently discovering that they received a 45 health score it is very concerning to me. It appears that this location has some serious things they need to work on considering the cost of their dishes. Please do not eat here, they are very over priced with very poor service. I most likely will not return. While dining I also witnessed another issue with a large party and the quality of their service; unfortunately they had no choice but to still pay the full 20% auto gratuity although their service was way below subpar, managers did not care.
Ordered oxtails and they were sooooo good! I saw the reviews on DoorDash and almost everyone said they were expensive but they all said they were good. So I had a choice between them and a couple other people and I chose to pick quality over quantity and I was not disappointed. The portions weren’t the traditional portions for Caribbean meals but it was still worth every penny in my opinion. It’s hard to find someone that cooks good oxtails in the area when you’re not too salty or not too bland or the insult you would like one or two oxtails, I’m exaggerating a little bit. But the point is the portion size was good enough to me and the flavor was absolutely impeccable.
When we first arrived it was just beginning to fill up but it did so quickly and rightly so. The food is the best we have had outside of Jamaica and tour server was wonderful. Dominque was professional, personable, and knowledgeable.
We had a pleasant experience. The atmosphere was nice and we enjoyed the music. We ordered the oxtails and brown stew chicken. My oxtails were good. A bit on the spicy side. Plenty of gravy which I appreciated. My husband ordered the stew chicken. It was flavorful and the meat fell off the bone. My only complaint is the the cabbage was not good. It still tasted uncooked.
Came here to dine with my family. Poor service.. the server wasn’t doing bad but the manager named Kenyatta was unprofessional with how she went about things. The food took over an hour to come out and all you see the manager doing is walking back and forth the dining room absolutely nothing. When we received the food, it wasn’t hot at all but thank God it tasted good. I’m not a fussy person at all and don’t usually complain about poor service, but I’m writing this review because we were just so disappointed with the service. I asked the server to get the manager to come speak to us about a discount because the food took very long and I was missing my plantains on my dish, also received the food and had to WAIT for silverware to eat, and I got 3 pieces of oxtail that barely had meat on it. She told the server to come back to us and tell us she cannot give us a discount because everyone’s food took a long time and she’d have to give everyone a discount. How did you as a manager think that was ok to say to a potential regular guest?! Even though we waited so long for the food, I had full intention to return because the food was good and it’s a black owned restaurant. Because of Kenyatta, neither of us will return. As a manager she should’ve came over and spoke to us herself and explain whatever she needed to. She clearly lacks the skill of a good restaurant manager. This business is a very good one and has great potential. Please to hire better managers to run your business before they run it to the ground.
