I wish I could write a positive review, but unfortunately, our stay at Crowne Plaza Atlanta Midtown was deeply disappointing from the moment we arrived—exhausted, with two young children in tow, after a 5.5-hour drive. The hotel room was a generous gift from my father, who used his reward points to book our stay. However, we were completely unaware that the hotel required check-in before midnight or that the person who used the points (my father) needed to be physically present or submit an ID. I’ve stayed in many hotels using both personal payments and family member points, and I’ve never had a reservation canceled simply because I arrived after midnight. We arrived at approximately 1:45am, and the front desk attendant was immediately dismissive. He told me he was running a report and couldn’t help me until it was done, instructing me to take a seat. I did so, but then watched as several guests approached the desk and were assisted right away—while I continued to wait, unseen. When I approached again, he curtly informed me our room had been given away because we didn’t check in before midnight and no other rooms were available. I calmly explained that we had driven for hours, delayed by multiple bathroom stops with small children (one of whom is newly potty trained), and had no way of knowing we’d lose a prepaid reservation. He then told me our room wasn’t “paid for” because it was booked with points—an unnecessary and insulting distinction, especially given that points are a valid form of payment and the reservation was confirmed. Eventually, after some back and forth—and only after I mentioned the room was booked by my father—the attendant insisted I wake him up at 2:15am to send a photo of his ID. After that ordeal, I was finally given a room… but not the one we had reserved. Instead of two beds, it had a single king and was promised to have a sofa bed. It did not. No sofa bed, just one king-sized bed. I was too exhausted to argue further or relocate, so we made it work for the night. Needless to say, I chose not to stay the second night and instead paid out of pocket for a room at a different hotel. I also didn’t bother trying to recoup the points used for the second night—at that point, I had no faith in the process. Additional issues worth noting: • We were not alone. At least five other guests arrived after midnight and were told their rooms had been given away, citing similar travel delays. • The front desk attendant was openly rude—not just to us but to other guests requesting linens and towels. • Our room had only two bath towels and one hand towel for a family of three. • The smell of marijuana was strong in the lobby when we arrived. • The hotel overall felt dated and poorly maintained. I understand that policies exist for a reason, but guests should be clearly informed of these expectations—especially regarding check-in deadlines and ID requirements for third-party bookings. We were not. We were treated as an inconvenience rather than guests. To be clear, the issue wasn’t just the policy—it was the dismissive and unprofessional way it was handled. Hospitality starts with empathy, especially when families arrive late at night, clearly tired and trying to do everything right. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone, and I sincerely hope management reevaluates its customer service standards and late check-in policy clarity.

I recently stayed at the Crowne Plaza Midtown Atlanta for a volleyball tournament, and let me tell you, it was the worst hotel experience I’ve had in years. The lobby looked decent, but that’s where the positives ended. From the jump, the front desk staff seemed overwhelmed and clueless, like they were just trying to get by without any real support from management. It felt chaotic. We were put in room 922 on the 9th floor, and I’ve got to say, the cleanliness was unacceptable. The hallway carpets were filthy, and the walls looked like they hadn’t been wiped down in ages. Once we got into our room, it was even worse. The bathroom was disgusting—peeling ceiling, stained shower, and stains around the tub. The water didn’t drain well either, which is probably why tub was not clean and neglected. We always check under the beds, and this time it was alarming. The sheets clearly hadn’t been changed, with red stains and yellow stains that looked like urine. We even found pills under the mattress! When we asked for a room turnover, they flat-out said no. However someone entered our room while we were away and removed our towels and did not leave clean towels. During that time they did not do anything else - so why did they enter? To make matters worse, our door didn’t lock properly, so we had to sleep with something in front of it just in case someone tried to come in. That’s a level of insecurity I shouldn’t have to deal with when staying at a hotel. On top of all this, we were charged $250 a night plus $50 for parking. And get this—there was no soap, lotion, or any of the basic amenities you’d expect from a hotel at this price point. The nightstand even had leftover food crumbs, which was just gross. It’s clear this hotel doesn’t meet IHG standards, so I’m not sure if it’s corporate-owned or franchised, but either way, it needs serious attention. I really hope management addresses these issues before more guests have to go through this kind of experience. I definitely cannot recommend the Crowne Plaza Midtown Atl

I ordered a 19$ mushroom Swiss burger to bring up to my room. It looked nice but I took a bite and it wasn't that good. The second bite made me gag. I'll just fast tonight. Please don't order that.

Stayed in the crowne for seven days and went to this bar three times. First time for drinks. The drinks were okay bartender was very nice and attentive. Second time the manager lady and server was very rude we tried to order food the close the kitchen before 11 but some other people order food if you get my intake on other people. The server didn’t even come to see if we wanted a drink or anything. The third time the bartender didn’t inform any that the credit card machine was down and ask could we charge to the room or pay cash but once again the other people card work. If I stay in this hotel again I will not order or go to that bar again I will starve if I have. Beware

The staff is horrible. They have bad attitudes and to me dont want to work. The so-called manager thinks she is the shyt and just wants to boss people around. They want to smile and laugh in white folks faces for a big tip and half of them are putting the items on there rooms. They always say the kitchen is closed. I got there at 950 and they said the kitchen was closed. It takes fooooreva for the food to come out. The drinks were ok. It depends on the server. They have passed me sitting for a while to run to others. The portions of the food I can say is alot. For the price, its worth it expect for the wings. They are. $15. For 6. Very overpriced so come prepared. They do have food. Not on the menu so ask like a kids 3 piece tender for $8. Kids are welcomed too to sit only.

Bar tender is a gentleman. Smells of pot was in the air in the front entry. Not sure if this is legal, or this city is going m I re lawless.

Parking: You are far from the parking and rather scary at 8pm no lighting worth a damn. For safety, I choose the valet, now another person has access to my tools and stuff.

Well this place gets no stars from me. For a Restaurant & Bar in the middle of the city this staff cannot handle a rush. My family and I walked in sat down at a table and not once was we greet or asked if we would like anything to drink or eat. Finally when I spotted the server and asked for a menu. 10 minutes went by and still no menu and no server, asked again when I spotted the same server, then I was told to go to the bar to get a menu. NP! Another 15 minutes went by still no server no drinks. Not gonna even discuss the no menu for kids. Went up to bar figuring I could get a drink faster than a food order.... WRONG! Seems them bartender didn't know who was next and who to serve, cause a lady next to me had been trying to get a drink for about 20 minutes. When seeing the server for the 3rd or 4th time and asked if I can just order some fries for my kids, I was told, "The kitchen isn't taken anymore orders cause they're backed up". So to the snack bar for chips and soda.

Bar and restaurant in the lobby of the Crowne Plaza Hotel. The only dine in option in the hotel for dinner. Not fancy. Perfect for relaxing after a long business day. The food was amazing! Standard bar food but superbly prepared. Wings, pasta, hamburger, club sandwich, chicken quesadilla, salads, artichoke dip, salmon, chicken, steak. Everything was freshly prepared and delicious! Large portions. The only problem was that the restaurant was understaffed. The servers were friendly, worked hard and worked fast, the manager pitched in, but they couldn't keep up with the demand and there were delays of up to 30 min to an hour at peak times. I didn't mind the wait, it was worth it.
