Fun gem in Atlanta. I really like the onigiri and small plates. Also the Japanese curry is a great main course. They did a hotpot special the other night and it was amazing. One of my favorite Friday night dinner and drink spots.
When visiting Ok Yaki on a Friday night, the place with abuzz with merriment and energy. Definitely a happening place. Yet the food turned out to be average. I was expecting fireworks but instead found a gentle fizzle. Only one dish really impressed us – the Karaage – considering its great flavor, juiciness, and crispiness. Been looking for decent Osaka style Okonomiaki and came across this place on Google. This was the closest I've come to outside of Japan yet. Center was a bit loose, but it was damn good. Tried the gyoza, karaage, and Japanese curry with a tonkatsu cutlet. Only disappointing thing was the curry itself - the premix wasn't great - but the tonkatsu was prefect. Everything else was amazing, and I look forward to going back on Tuesday for their tacoyaki special.
