A lot of places they have been in Atlanta as long as Old Vinings Inn usually rest on their laurels. This most definitely not the case here. This was my first visit and it won't be my last, and after one visit it has already made it to the top of my favorite Atlanta restaurants. The portions were generous without being overwhelming, and the prices were most reasonable. We enjoyed the candied bacon to start which has a little bit of a kick to you making it. It not your usual millionaires bacon. I dined on the crab cake with champagne beurre blanc sauce along with green beans (with garlic) and Brussel Sprouts. My only complaint is that the Brussel sprouts could have used a glaze. The Editor enjoyed the blackened shrimp and a house salad that had everything but the kitchen sink on it; including the most wonderful radishes. She enjoyed every bite of it. We shared the most decadent flourless chocolate torte served with berry coulis and fresh whipped cream and made our way to the car so we could go home and take a much needed siesta after such a great meal.

This was such a great experience. We were greeted warmly and quickly seated in the room to the left of the reception area... I haven't been seated in that space recently and liked that it felt both airy and cozy. Our server was kind and helpful. We both had variations of the eggs benedict-- Delicious! We're going to make plans to come back for dinner soon.

I went for the first time to OVI last weekend and loved my experience. This inside was so cute! I heard it was slower than normal, but I feel like we benefitted from that. I was greeted at the door by Mike, who recommended that we switch our reservation to enjoy the live music that started at 8. He was very kind and personal - he invited me to go upstairs where I picked my own table. The bartender Rick was also wonderful! He gave great recommendations and was very attentive. He was also incredibly friendly - chatting with us every time he checked in. The short rib was delicious! We also had the fried green tomatoes, the shrimp and grits and the bacon brownie Sunday - were good too! Heads up - there's a $5 cover charge to sit upstairs when there's live music.

Food was excellent. Service was good. Ambience was good. Parking was awful. Not enough parking spaces on site; if full must park across the street at the bank on the corner which is a little inconvenient for us as my wife has difficulty walking with a cane. For this reason I think we will not go back.

I have not dined at Old Vinings Inn in several years and did not know what to expect regarding menu, food quality, etc. everything was fantastic, exceeding expectations. Dishes were beautifully presented and each order was delicious. Our server, Oscar, was exceptional. I plan to return very soon.
