I had created a booking issue. Without the help of Makayla and Acwoinne I would have never been successful in resolving. The professionalism, care and concern was refreshing. So grateful to them both.
Makayla at the front desk was extremely helpful and hospitable and we will definitely be staying hear again on our trips to Hapeville!
I have stayed at this property many times in the past, and while I’ve always left a little more disappointed each time, this most recent stay has pushed me past my limit. The level of negligence, filth, and overall disregard for basic hospitality is absolutely unacceptable. Upon checking in around 7:00 pm, I left the hotel and did not even step foot in the room. When I returned later that evening, I walked into what was clearly an already-used room: dirty towels tossed about, an unmade bed, and an overall disgusting presentation (I have video). I immediately went to the front desk, where I was apologized to and assured the room would be cleaned right away. When I returned, however, nothing had been done. The room was in the exact same filthy condition. At that point, Makaila (sp), who was kind and apologetic, upgraded us to the presidential suite. While I appreciated her professionalism, the so-called “upgrade” was no better—if anything, it added insult to injury. The bathroom reeked of mildew, the shower had bugs crawling in it, and when I finally went to bed, I found a crumpled sheet stuffed under the blanket, as though someone had lazily thrown the bed together without a second thought. By now it was nearly 1:00 am, and I was far too exhausted to deal with the front desk again. “Disgusted” doesn’t even begin to cover how I feel. This wasn’t just disappointing—it was revolting. The lack of cleanliness, the repeated failures to fix the situation, and the fact that this has been a steady decline over multiple stays make it clear that this property has completely abandoned any standard of hospitality. I will never be returning, and I will be sharing this experience widely so that others are aware of the appalling conditions and utter lack of care at this hotel.
Love the Porsche wake up
Every time I stay at this hotel, I'm reminded why I keep coming back and a big part of that is the front desk staff, especially Makayla. She has a natural warmth and professionalism that instantly makes me feel at home. Whether it's my first night or fifth stay, she greets me with a smile and goes above and beyond to ensure I'm comfortable. I've also noticed how she treats every guest like they truly matter.
During my most recent visit, Mariah was incredibly helpful in accommodating a late checkout. She handled it quickly and kindly with a smile, and even followed up to make sure everything about the rest of my stay went smoothly. That level of care is rare and appreciated.
I can’t forget Angel and Taylor at the bar/restaurant who provided excellent service. They were both friendly, attentive, and really knew how to make a guest feel welcomed, whether I was down for a quick drink or a a meal.
The team here consistently delivers exceptional hospitality, and it’s people like Makayla, Mariah, Angel, and Taylor that make this hotel feel like a second home. The IHG group is lucky to have them!
A little late on the review - but I stayed here May 17, 2025 with my spouse for her birthday. She LOVES planes - she loves to track them, watch them, etc. so when I saw online that you can see arrivals to Atlanta airport from this hotel, I knew I had to book it! Rooms were clean, view was gorgeous, and staff were FABULOUS - especially the front desk employee Mariah! Food at the restaurant was delicious as well. Loved everything about it!
Only giving 4 stars (want to give 4.5 total but idk if I can) because when I booked online, I paid an $40 for a $60 restaurant credit that I never received… I think there was confusion on how to apply it and I just ended up paying full price for everything at the restaurant despite the $40 extra online charge. But I wasn’t even pressed because the service across the board from all employees was wonderful 💙
Having no trained staff that cares. We had one problem after another. Everything from inaccurate shuttle info, dirty pool and surrounding surfaces, toilet that kept running 24/7, no light in bathroom, lobby water always out, no lobby coffee, in room coffee pods never replaced even though we $5 tip for housekeeping. Lobby bar not open during posted open hours - once when it was open, no bartender in sight. $78 dollar breakfast for 2 vege omelets and 2 black coffees! Not every guest here is on a company expense account, you are out of touch with your guests and your staff could care less at every level! Rooftop bar never open during posted hours during our stay. Parking fee unnecessary! Overall your property is a huge ripoff with corporate greed showing everywhere, staff was unmotivated, unfriendly, unhelpful and generally seemed totally miserable. They are an accurate example of how corporate management must be treating them!
Great location to ATL. The staff especially Makayla provided first class service.
Not a great experience. We checked in as a family of three and had reserved a room with two beds. When we got to the room, we quickly realized the bathroom setup was very strange.
The sink and shower were out in the open with no privacy. With a teenage son, this obviously was not going to work. I will give the staff credit — when we returned to the front desk, they offered to move us to a suite for a forty dollar upgrade. However, the suite only had one bed. They agreed to provide a rollaway bed for our son.
We were told the rollaway would be delivered while we were out at the baseball game. When we returned around 11 PM, it had not been delivered.
We went back to the front desk. Staff said they would try to find one, but they were clearly overwhelmed with a wedding, a party, and airline crew arrivals all happening at the same time. Not long after we returned to the room, we got a call saying there were no other options available, though they might be able to call us back in about 30 minutes to check on a different room. At this point, it was after midnight. We ended up taking some sheets and making a bed on the extremely firm sofa.
Overall, this was a disappointing experience. Families should be aware of the limited privacy in these rooms before booking. We are still waiting to hear from management about any assistance they can provide.
There were absolutely no problems with my three sweet, large dogs staying with us during our visit. There were no extra charges either. We walked them on the designated area several times per day and had a wonderful stay. The staff was absolutely exceptional as well!!! Parking was $30 per night. This is the only hotel I'll ever use! It's such a relief to be able to travel with your furbabies and stay at a beautiful hotel for as long as you like. Also, apply for the free hotel membership!
Restaurantji Recommends
We had to stay at the Kimpton because we missed a connecting flight on delta due to late departure. Makayla, the front desk clerk and the shuttle driver was very nice and accommodating. They also gave us toiletries because delta had our bags. The hotel knew, out the way and very nice. They have a rooftop bar where you can see the planes coming in.
I recently attended a Porsche event and discovered this hotel right next to it. The hotel had beautifully decorated rooms featuring cars and offered a stunning view of the Porsche experience center race track. It was an amazing experience!
Wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again next time I’m in Atlanta! Everyone that we encountered during our stay treated us very well, and even loved on our fur baby!
Safe to say she enjoyed the room just as much as her humans did!

I came to this location as my daughter really enjoyed the rooftop. I have been really ill and in and out the hospital. I didn’t know how I would be able to give my daughter an enjoyable birthday. I made reservations through Apple Travels as I had a credit. I called to verify all the things on the morning of and spoke with a lady named Markena or Martina. I hope I didn’t mess her name up, she is the manager I presume, however, I didn’t know who she was over the phone. She made me feel so comfortable, I expressed my illness with her and what I was trying to do.
I came to check in and spoke to Makayla and Yoselin at the front desk. I explained everything and they were so helpful I cried. They knew I had been newly out the hospital and didn’t have much money at the time but I wanted to do the best that I could for my daughter 14th birthday. The entire staff from maintenance to security made this an awesome experience.
I will never forget them and neither will my daughter. Kimpton Overland Atlanta Airport is the best staff and service I have had in a long time. God willing this part of my life will heal soon and I will be able to do something nice for ALL of them.

Rachel at the front desk was amazing. We arrived late on New Year’s Eve and she had a fantastic attitude and all customers were complementing her. Shuttle service was great as well
