Pielands Sub and Slice

I hope this was just an off day but if so, it was certainly egregious. Friendly enough staff but the atmosphere was AWFUL and food was bad. They were absolutely blaring music, not entirely sure what it was but it was WAY too loud for a restaurant. Like K-pop or dubstep turned up to 11. I'm in my 30s and love music so I'm not a grandma but it also kept skipping from Bluetooth and they kept playing the same song multiple times (?) What happened to a normal playlist? It was honestly just bizarre and surprising. The food was also simply not good. The slices looked pretty bleak. Half of us got barely cooked toppings, tons of raw white onion and unmelted cheese, big chunks of uncooked bell pepper, I don't know how they would consider that acceptable to serve. Pepperoni slice was cooked fine and so was the grandma but it's just the same crust but square, not a deep dish style like you expect for a grandma pie. Quality was below average. I've never had an experience like this in ATL so I wanted to share. Wishing you guys the best in future quality control and atmosphere tweaks.

The quality of the pizza is just not very good. The crust sucks. They give you so few pepperonis on a pepperoni pizza too. This place used to be a lot better. I won't order again. MTH pizza is much better.

I had the pizza delivered. I didn't expect it to be hot because the delivery time was more than hour but I am okay with reheating in the oven.

I like that there is a pizza joint in town— it’s the kind of place we need. I feel the pizza, however, has way too much sugar in the sauces and/or dough— it’s way too sweet and otherwise ruins nice looking pies. I hope the management takes this constructively, and I hope changes are made to the recipes. Again, wayyyy too sweet.

Menu states on gluten free pizza toppings are an additional $1 each however I was charged $4 and $3 per topping. When I brought up the menu stated otherwise I was dismissed and it was not changed. ** After my meal I spoke with the manager Cody my total was adjusted and corrected afterwards. I believe the POS system is confusing for employees because after creating my pizza on the website I can see why the error occurred. I simply wish the dismissive attitude was not present when I had a very valid complaint. **

I love this place. I have been in huge fan since day one. I have never been disappointed. The best pizza is the Vi-Ha! Great dough, excellent crust and the best pizza sauce I have ever had! Fresh out the oven and amazing!

My husband and I got the a few slices of the green granny and also a slice of the garlic white. Both were okay. Crust was a little thin and it just wasn’t what I expected overall. The wings were undercooked and the skin was rubbery. Additionally, my husband and I stood in the lobby a while waiting to order and then a white woman came up and was immediately able to order. While still standing there another employee came up and asked that same white woman if she had been helped and never asked us. I won’t assume racism but I can at the very least I”say that there should be some coaching involved about how to address customers in the lobby. We drove 45 mins to try this place and will not be back.

Edited response to owner- if this truly is the owner responding then I am disappointed. Instead of taking accountability you immediately got defensive. Instead of trying to gather the facts of the encounter you attack someone who visited your business. The fact is that my husband and I were overlooked TWICE. In my initial review I said it could have been something else, but race was a visible difference between the woman who continued to get service vs myself. If there are two lines( a new visitor would not know this) a simple greeting to every customer when they enter the store with something like“ is this for here or to go?.. okay order when ready” can avoid this mishap . There IS an opportunity for development here and i hope you can receive it. I’m not sure what bringing up other ratings has to do with it, but I am going to share my honest feedback. Since you brought up previous reviews, it should be noted that other people have similar thoughts on the pizza, wings AND about being ignored. Being a small business owner, I encourage you to do some research on the psychology of reviews and then coach your employees based on that research. Everything included in my original review was a fact and I will not have it minimized because the owner cannot take feedback. Please learn from this and grow.
