I ordered the MLT bagel and it was the best breakfast bagel I've ever had. I'll definitely be back!

I wanted to wholeheartedly love this new restaurant, especially since it’s Vegan and Black owned. I was hungry today and waited all day to try Plant Bae. I ordered the MLT, the G. Burger, a Cobb Salad, and fries on the side.

Now, let’s focus on the wait time and the food. We ordered at 4:39 p.m. and didn’t receive our food until 6 p.m. I wish I had more photos of the food, but on the way home, I threw out the fries because they were way too salty. My partner ate the G. Burger and said it was edible, but on a scale of 1-10, it was a 1. I had the MLT and ended up throwing it all away because it was burnt beyond the edges of the bread. Not lightly toasted burnt, like charcoal.

As for the Cobb Salad, it had chickpeas and mushrooms that were oily with a few burnt pieces. The arugula tasted as if it hadn’t been washed. I couldn’t eat it even with the dressing, it didn’t help. In the trash it goes. Now, I have to cook after waiting all that time lol what was the purpose of paying over $60? I wasted money and time.

Oh, and let’s not forget, I tried calling them to express my dissatisfaction, and they were completely rude, showing no customer service at all, and let’s talk about ghetto, they were. I really didn’t want to leave this review because I know people have bad days, but there was no accountability for their actions when I came to support their business. You can keep the money, but trust and believe, I will be telling everyone how subpar their customer service is and how the food is a zero. You’ll find a better salad at Arden's Garden next door than at this establishment.

I don't normally leave reviews because I am not the review type of guy. If I enjoy the food, I simply revisit. If I dislike the food, I simply stay away. This time I am choosing to leave a review becaus the gentleman (I believe its the owner's husband) is a bit insolent in his approach to customer service and receiving observations about the organization. The owner (the lady) is exempt from this evaluation. This is all about the guy. He is horrible at tending to customers, at least the day I visited, which was today (August 23, 2024). My order was placed at 4:45pm, which he told me would take 10-15 minutes. I eventually ended up waiting an hour and a few minutes to receive my food. Moreover, he tried to say that the wait was my fault because I stepped out. My wife and son were in the car. My son was asleep so I just handled the order myself, not wanting to disturb my son' sleep. Thus, after placing my order, I stepped out to check on my family, waiting 15 minutes and returned. As soon as I returned inside, the guy looks at me and asked, "you already placed your order right?" I answered yes. Then he says, "give me like five more minutes." Okay, so I stepped back outside to check on my family, and even ordered me a smoothie from Arden's Garden (which is literally right next door). I then return back inside and he tells me a few more minutes. This literally happens for the next 10-15 minutes with me leaving and returning until he simply just stops acknowledging me altogether. At this point other customers are asking me questions about whats taking them so long, and some customers that ordered after me are receiving their orders, and literally the guy is telling them over and over that my stuff is being prepared now. Literally an hour goes by and he finally asked to come coser to the entrance of the kitchen and then asked me what it was that I ordered. After I told him he says my order was done about 10 minutes ago.

This is just a summarized version of what took place. A few other things took place that could have indicated to the worker that I was being overlooked multple times, but his insolence hindered him from being attentive.

Even worse than that (because I have been practicing humility and patience myself), my wife spoke with him about the quaility of the food and he had the nerve to respond to my wife aggressively, suggesting that she was "trying him" as if we were in some unprofessional, street altercation. If that were the case, that would have been the initial approach because I felt tried to begin with, but I kept things cordial and professional. Conclusively, the guy has horrible customer service. I could say so much more, but I don't rock like that. Like I have said, I don't even like leaving reviews. This guy doesn't like hearing anything, so I figured maybe he'd prefer reading it instead.

As for the food quality, my wife and I didn't even get a fair chance to experience it because our food was cold by the time it was given to us due to the guy's inattentivenes and or blatant negligence. That being said, for what I was able to observe, the food was about a 4 out of 10. I ordered the G Burger, the MLT burger, the Cajun Fried and the Cobb salad. Maybe these items are better when they're fresh. I don't know and won't ever find out because I am not going back.

I'm so glad I found a vegan restaurant nearby that doesn't use fake meats to create great meals. Today was my first visit and I had the tamarind bbq fried oyster mushroom wraps along with a soursop colada. I enjoyed my meal and will definitely return.

Side note for first time visitors: This isn't a dine-in restaurant. Also, make sure you ask to get on an email waiting list for the owner's cookbook if it's not available when you visit.

Anne and her partner are absolutely amazing. Excellent customer service and the place was spotless. I had the Tamarind BBQ Fried Oyster Mushroom Wraps, Apple Ginger, and Cajun Burro Fries. The fries were seasoned well, had excellent texture, and were my favorite. Not greasy at all. The Apple Ginger drink was refreshing, not overly sweet, and the hint of ginger added depth to the taste. The wraps were flavorful and there was a good portion of the oyster mushrooms. Overall, I’d definitely go again. The food is light by nature but was still tasty and I enjoyed it!

Such a hidden gem! The food was delicious- we tried the truffle fries, truly incredible that these were made out of bananas. The cookies and cream shake is a must- so good! And my husband and I both enjoyed our burgers. They have terrific customer service!

I had one of the most amazing experience at this cafe in terms of service and the FOOD!! It’s all vegetarian/plant-based options, freshly prepared, and diverse in offerings. Service was provided by the owner, and we had a great chat, so much so that it felt like the food was ready in under 10 minutes. We got the avocado toast, walnut meat street taco, walnut meat bolognese pasta, and the MLT. Upon leaving the cafe and tasting the first two, we had to call and congratulate them. Food was simply flavorful and delicious. Atlanta support this awesome new, small, female-owned business!!
