pretty good restaurant, but the recipes are a bit bland,the fried chicken breading has a pretty good recipe, and it's the main attraction here,but everything else on the small menu is a bit bland,sweet potato fries with just some seasoning sprinkled on top, or "grilled" chicken just cooked in generic teriyaki sauce,I'm not saying it's bad though, it's pretty delicious, just a little plain.I don't know why this place calls itself a Japanese restaurant, it's not, it's an American restaurant with chopsticks

This place is so tasty I have ordered here a few times and they always gave me fried with my tofu patty I order two of them for $26 and it always always came with fries got home with my meal to realize it didn’t come with fries husband called them and the lady said that it doesn’t come with fries when every other time we have ordered it it came with it

We waited two years before trying this place again to see if things had changed, clearly not . Use to frequent this place at least once a week, then quality and product changed. Dog no slaw and the slaw is what makes it, not gotta way a dry fried hotdog. Asked for fries to be cooked extra crispy because they always soggy and once again a soggy fries.

Best fast food chicken tenders out there. Apparently frying in rice bran oil makes a huge difference, who knew. Their spicy level is barely that, but it adds a great depth of flavor. Fries are lightly battered and super crisp so be sure to try those. And the upcharge for the green beans side is worth it -- they're basted in a thicker miso broth with fried onion pieces on top.

I love ponko!! If you have never had it definitely give them a shot. The chicken is always so delicious and crispy. I usually get a ponko chicken plate with fries and Cole slaw and it’s all so delicious. It’s also a great place to bring friends that are visiting Atlanta because they have usually never had anything like it!

Excellent island and Japanese food! My youngest son and I ate the island grilled chicken with fries and rice to test the quality. Sold on the first run, we will have to try the rest of the menu especially the teriyaki as it smelled sooo good. Will leave another review when we try the rest of the menu.
Ponko is a restaurant that was on my radar for a while, and I finally got a chance to check it out, and unfortunately I was disappointed. I order the PONKO chicken plate with brown rice, the OG chicken and pickles. All of it was ehhh. It wasn't bad per say, but it wasn't really good either. The chicken was salty and not the most enjoyable. The pickles were for a lack of better words, gross and not enjoyable at all. The brown rice was the best part of the meal. Not too sure if I'll be coming back. You're welcome.

I absolutely love eating at Ponko when I'm looking for something easy but delicious! Their chicken is always super tasty, and their fries are OH so good. I recommend their Ponko Plate, with a side of rice and fries, or the Ponko Chicken Salad. I also love the Ponko pickles, even though I'm not usually a pickle fan - it's a different type of pickle more like sweet Asian cucumbers - very enjoyable! Also if you're ever just looking for a smaller snack or what I call 'second lunch', you can also order from the kids menu (ex: ponko chicken 2 pc) - perfect second lunch size!
