WOW... can't believe this GEM is tucked away a few blocks away from my job. Stopped in with a group from work and left highly impressed. From the food to the service and ambience, loved every minute of it. Shoutout to our server Lanay, great service and the food was magnificent. Our table had a great spread but my favorite was the Wontons as the app. For my main entree, the best duck breast Ive ever had to day. To finish of, chocolate dipped green apple. The Southern Asian fusion was just a hit!

One of the best restaurant experiences we've ever had. Service was elite across the board. Drinks were great, food was amazing, since it was our first time we went with their staples of the Lobster Fried Rice and Crispy Beef, both were amazing. Went with the Buttermilk Frog Legs as an starter, which was lights out. Went with the Bananas Foster Pound Cake as a shared dessert which also was amazing.

Our only regret was not coming here for dinner the 1st night we were in town 😓

Can't express enough how great everything was

This was my 1st time going to poor Calvin's. I had heard great things about it and I was not disappointed. Great staff and service and the food was delicious. Can't wait to go back. We had reservations at 5:30pm this past Saturday.

Had a week long work trip in GA / FL and this was the best dinner spot I ate at. The food was incredible. I had two specials. The dumplings in Tom Yum sauce and the meatloaf with these really tasty fried tomatoes. Felt like I got a bit of southern influence with Asian flavors. I sat at the bar, both bartenders were very accommodating and welcoming. A nice feeling when traveling solo from a far off place. I met three strangers at the bar which made for a memorable night. I am going to recommend this place to anyone that goes to Atlanta.

My dining experience was excellent. The food was tasty, served hot, and with good portions. The drinks were good and presented beautifully. The server was very attentive and knowledgeable of the menu. The ambiance was nice, but the tables were so close that you can't really have a private conversation.

Overall, I enjoyed myself at Poor Calvin's and cannot wait to return.

Very good food, Rick was an excellent server, and the kiddos enjoyed the chairs. Some customer named Nicole Stephens stole our food!

Poor Calvin’s delivered an exceptional dining experience from start to finish. The service alone deserves a standing ovation—our server, Lena, was phenomenal. She was warm, attentive, and incredibly well-versed in the menu, offering thoughtful recommendations and making the entire evening feel effortless and special.

My friend and I shared the Sea Bass, and it was truly outstanding—perfectly prepared, beautifully balanced, and bursting with flavor. While the menu offers limited options for health-conscious diners, the quality and execution of our meal were so impressive that it hardly mattered.

Between the elevated cuisine and Lena’s impeccable service, Poor Calvin’s is a place we’ll absolutely return to. A memorable night all around. 🍽️✨

Request Lena for the ultimate experience! 🙌🏽💫🤩

Spectacular restaurant that has been here for a while. Menu changes frequently. Very creative dishes. Staff is phenomenal. Cocktails are very creative.

One of the most unique places in Atlanta. Love coming here. The Seabass was spectacular tonight.

I often get nervous when a place has so much hype. I find myself doubting the praise like it’s disingenuous bootlicking. HOWEVER. I am happy to report that Poor Calvin’s is absolutely worth the hype (and that nothing tasted of said boot!)

This is a special occasion kind of dining experience. I’m not just saying that because of the price tag. I’m saying it because the menu is beautifully sparse - they don’t overwhelm you with ingredients and options that are too similar to each other. Calvin’s staff EXPERTLY walks you through their offerings with beautiful descriptions of palates and flare. Shout out to Linda, who was more culinary concierge than waiter!!

We really enjoyed the pork belly eggs and the lobster Mac (which be warned LIT me up). But the real standouts were the wontons and the fried rice.

The wontons are served with a trio of sauces that are so unexpected and perfectly harmonious! Red berry. Mango. Balsamic truffle. Like… WHAAAAAT?! Absolutely amazing. The fried rice was so decadent - chock full of seafood and veggies - and you know how most fried rice requires a healthy dash of soy or some sauce to moisten it up? NOT THIS ONE. I don’t know what voodoo Calvin is using but holy crab it was moist and ridiculous.

Would I recommend? 10/10 absolutely
Will I go back? Yes, and can’t wait!
