Poor Calvin's provided excellent service, a cool, quirky vibe, and fantastic food. Although the place is popular and busy, the staff took their time to explain the various dishes and make great recommendations. It was a short walk from the Crowne Plaza Midtown. Poor Calvin's was so good, we ate their twice. I loved the Drunken Noodles with Lobster Tails and Scallops. Too delicious! Servings were very generous. Calamari is inventive and superb. Many gluten free and vegetarian choices as well. I highly recommend!
What a treat!!!! We were in Atlanta just for the night and found this place after going to mass just down the road. My teenager said the lobster fried rice was the best hes ever tasted. The crispy beef and seafood spring rolls were magnificent as well. My daughter and I really enjoyed the cocktails, excellent and unique. The only problem we had was not having enough room in our stomachs to eat more. If we're ever in Atlanta again, this will be the first place I go!
Poor Calvin never misses! Last night was absolutely awesome. We were able to eat outside in front. The weather was awesome. My food was divine. The cocktail were perfect. I'd say my experience was a 10 out of 10.
Poor Calvin's is always a wonderful treat! My sister and I went before going to a concert and it was the perfect meal to kick off the night. I had salmon fritters which was an off menu special and the seafood curry as my entree. Everything was beyond amazing and delicious. I also had the lavender lemonade as my beverage. The ambiance was great and so was the customer service. I rate this 10 out of 10. I'll definitely go back again and recommend this restaurant to others. I would strongly recommend making a reservation because it is a popular restaurant with high foot traffic but, it's beyond with it!
Awesome! Thank you, Calvin and linda, for making our night memorable as usual. Everytime we come is better than the time before
The food was very good. My husband had the duck special, I had the grouper and we also ordered the lobster fried rice. It's a very intimate setting- you definitely will be close to the next table (we made the best of that by chatting them up). Parking is intimate as well, so just be prepared for that. It was a nice night out and we enjoyed the service.
My experience was absolutely amazing. From the moment I walked up the ramp, I was completely satisfied. I was greeted and seated immediately. The waiter was polite, constant, and very knowledgeable. The food was outstanding!
This was a great experience I am an Atlanta native and the only negative thing I can say about this place is why did it take me so long to find it food is awesome staff is amazing and even went the extra mile to surprise my wife this place was great from parking up until your last bite
I absolutely LOVE Poor Calvin's. This is one of my favorite restaurants and I patronize this establishment for all special occasions'. My favorite meal is the Lobster Fried Rice and the Mago Spice beverage. Thank you for making my Birthday extra special.
Poor Calvin's is my favorite restaurant in the city! The service is impeccable and the food is even better!

My wife and I went to Poor Calvin's for dinner after a show at the Fox Theatre. I read great things about the restaurant; we were not disappointed. We arrived at the restaurant more than an hour early than our reservation. I was pleasantly surprised that we were promptly seated. The restaurant was almost full and buzzing with activity by 6:30 pm on a Saturday night. Our waitress, Louise, took great care of us. We shared a special starter for the night -- mashed halibut and cod fritters (covered with mango chutney). Absolutely delicious. For entrees, my wife had the Seafood Curry. I had the Thai Yellow Curry with lobster tail and scallops. Both dishes were served with green-tinted, pandan-infused jasmine rice. The pandan added a delicious, vanilla-like flavor. All together, a very sumptuous meal that we both continued to talk about the next day. Louise told us that Chef Calvin was on the premises that evening. We were pleasantly surprised when the chef came by our table to check on us. We washed down our meals with a bourbon and an Old Fashioned. My wife appreciated having a real whiskey glass for her bourbon. =) Five star rating for a five star experience. Highly recommended.
The servers are impeccable. They make you feel welcome and at home immediately. The food and their food recommendations were on point. I was blown away with my experience there and I am coming from NYC where the bar is quite high for top tier dining.
Poor Calvin's is one of the best hidden gems in Atlanta. The food is always delicious and the atmosphere is very cozy and inviting. The service is impeccable. This one of my husband's and I favorite place to dine.
We loved every second of the visit! The Lobster Crawfish Wontons were amazing! Our entrees were equally delicious, The service was 5-Star our server Linda is the Best!
Asian fusion has been done again and again, but Poor Calvin's has been doing it right for years. We have loved this unique place for years and hope they're around a good long time.
