Red Rice Restaurant & Catering

I tried this place on 3 different occasions to try and get a true assessment of what the experience is supposed to be like because I believe the restaurant going viral was more business than they could handle resulting in long wait times and horrible customer service. I’ve been there when it was a long wait and when it was empty. Both times the red rice was dry, customer service was horrible and the establishment looked dirty. The turkey wings, mac n cheese and collards are the best menu items along with the church punch. They really need better management. I hope they take their reviews into consideration and endeavor to improve because I really root for small businesses to win.

This is the third time I've been here and my wife and I have fallen in love. From the time you enter the establishment it's nothing but smiles and professionalism. Cee-Cee, Mariah, and Tee thanks for your par-excellent service.

No need for customer service to be that bad

My experience was less than ideal. I understand it’s a pick up and go establishment, but the limited accessibility is unappealing! They make you wait outside because only so many people can enter at one time. Also, the person taking the orders at my visit was the owner and I literally had 1 minute to place an order before feeling as if I was being rushed. I knew it was her from the Chime time review video on Facebook. My wife requested a certain dish that they ran out of, when I attempted to call her real quick for an alternative, I literally was told to step aside after waiting behind others. It kinda caught me off guard! I thought to leave, but I ordered something in haste because I knew my wife was hungry. The menu is not really clearly layout to induce a fast decision. They often run out of proper items. Also, they are a bit overpriced for a gas station attached location. All in all, the food is slightly above average, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to go there again.

This place is great. I came in once and I been coming every Saturday since. Everyone has a great attitude and the owner is very nice as well. Keeping doing what y'all are doing. Thanks!!

Straight Trash don't believe the hype

My first experience and this was the definition of why it is so hard to support people. I arrived around 3:05pm and it was a line of people standing out stating that around 2ish someone stepped out and stated they were waiting on the Mac and Cheese. Doors finally open at 4:00pm and10 person minimum inside. It literally takes 10-15 minutes for them to place food in a to go container. I repeat it is not a warming environment, so don’t be alarmed. The food was good but definitely should consider customer service training. I will not go back simply because you don’t honor your hours of business and customer service.

Don’t waste your time. Never again. I’m not if these people even know what time they open. Time says, store opens at 2PM. It’s currently 3:20 PM and door is still shut with plenty people standing. This is a common issues with the location.

My 1st time going to Red Rice was today I was so excited to taste their food. We arrived at 1:30pm on Dec 18, 2024 and we never got a chance to e experience the food because they never opened the door. A lady came to the door and said they was Waiting on the Mac & cheese to get a crust on it that was at 2:30pm we didn't leave until 3:15pm. Someone fell out while waiting and several customers walked away ... UNACCEPTABLE

I waited in line for 2hrs. 12/18/24 time of arrival 1pm.. left after 3pm. This was unacceptable! A lady came out & said she was waiting for the cheese to crust on the maccaroni... smh... Gotta Do Better!!

This is my 2nd attempt trying to get food here, and man the wait ain’t worth it. You will stand in line for at least an hour or more. You can’t order online, and the store hours are not accurate. If you are on lunch break, definitely not the place to stop. Won’t waste any more gas.

The place is a little small to cause a long line. But I think of somebody came outside and took orders from the people outside the plates could be ready. But the food is good no lie. Hope they find a system to move there line faster. I love banana pudding but $10 was too much for me to pay for a small portion so I can't tell you how it taste. But I'm sure it is good

I absolutely love to support black business but we as black people have to understand customer service. The restaurant was supposed to open at 2pm. The line was around the building with it was cold and raining. It was 2:30 when I left without having tasted what everyone is raving about. I'm disappointed in the poor customer service because not only did you not open on time with kids, elderly people, and families standing in the rain but at NO point did anyone come out and apologize, greet the crowd or give an ETA of when you will actually open. WE have to be better!
