Sensational experience. Absolutely one of a kind. Our dinner was unique, flavorful and the staff was exceptional in their service and attention to detail. It I was described as a “guided” experience and they didn’t fail to deliver on that promise. You will not be disappointed booking a dinner here, and I look forward to coming back.

Absolutely incredible food. You can tell the team here is really passionate about providing a culinary tour of Japan. Everything from the drinks, the decor and the impeccable service really speaks to how much this team cares about what they do. Highly recommend this spot to anyone who loves Japanese food and seafood.

My husband and I celebrated our Valentine's day here and this has been my favorite omakase place in metro atlanta area and we've been to multiple. The service was amazing , everyone was very personable and really care about their art. Every course had heart and it was the perfect amount of food overall. Thank you for a wonderful time Ryokou staff :)

The meal of a lifetime. This was a culinary journey of flavors that can only be compared to the peak of dining, and many, if any, would fall short. The creativity of the dishes (both the actual plates and the food contents) were carefully thought out, wonderfully prepared and sourced, and perfectly explained.
The setlist of the dishes was almost instinctual but at the same time so natural that the flavors just evolved over time and it felt like a symphony being conducted while we got to watch taste and enjoy.
The staff was engaged, helpful and so knowledgeable.
The sake selections? You must do the pairing. If you will go on the food journey it is only natural to go on the drink journey as well.
As heads up, not complaining, the location is supremely cool (I won't spoil) but hard to find. Follow the directions (and staff!)
Secondly, a meal of a lifetime has a cost. It is WORTH that cost but it's not low, be prepared and just relax and enjoy. This is one of the most special meals I have ever participated in and I'm honored to have had a seat at this exquisite experience.

This is my favorite spot in the city (and one of my top 3 world wide). Atlanta is currently blessed with a wealth of amazing omakase spots. Each of these has a unique feel and take on omakase. All our worth experiencing.

However, Ryokou is something else entirely. It is culinary experience unrivaled in the city. The service is elevated and exceptional without being stuffy or too formal. The menu is journey through Japan. It pairs the familiar with the unexpected in inventive ways.

Each time we have been the team at Ryokou has gone out of their way to make are experience remarkable.

Highly recommended.

Ryokou is the intersection between innovation, tradition, and the deliciousness that happens in between. I enjoyed the variety and the depth of the dishes. The service was top tier, and their sparkling teas selection was fun and something new to me.

Alot of food here reminds me of visiting Japan. But only thing is, the seasoning was too strong for me.

I have to be honest: this is flashy, show-off technique with no real foundation. It is omakase clearly aimed at impressing American diners.

The chef’s biggest issue is weak fundamentals. The basics are not solid. There are too many ideas being forced into the menu. Ingredient combinations feel random and disconnected. The seasoning is genuinely bad. The vision is big, but the actual skill level cannot deliver the result he is aiming for.

(Also, At no point does the chef ask guests about rice portion or seasoning preference.)

1. The prawn was very average and slightly overcooked. It tasted like it had been quickly blanched in water.

2. The uni had an extremely weak flavor. It tasted like it had been frozen for a very long time. This was not what Hokkaido uni is supposed to taste like.

3. The hotate had almost no flavor and no sweetness. The choice made no sense.

4. A bunch of random kelp was added purely to pad the dish, not to enhance flavor.

5. The nigiri rice was very loose and fell apart easily. The amount of soy sauce used was excessive to an unreasonable level.

6. Part of the chawanmushi was noticeably bland.

7. The hand roll was basically KazuNori level, and once again overloaded with soy sauce.

The service itself was fine and the staff were warm and enthusiastic. That said, how the food actually tastes during the meal is what matters most to me. When the food is not good, those extra service touches do not add anything.

I do not recommend this place if you regularly eat omakase or if you are Asian and have some sort of understanding of Japanese food. It does not meet that baseline and feels more like performance than proper cooking.
