We wanted to try a good southern restaurant for breakfast and we found our place. The food was plentiful and delicious. I had the catfish with 2 eggs over medium, biscuits and gravy. Fried catfish filets were plentiful, but they were so good and tasty I ate them in a flash. The eggs were cooked perfectly. The biscuit and gravy was a great compliment. My wife loved the cheesy grits. Our server was very friendly. She was also very attentive. I was such a pleasing experience, I suggest you give the Silver Skillet a try.
As English, it blew us away. The best of America. Got taken there by locals. Apparently it is the place "everyone goes". Had breakfast. Eggs cooked very way. Service with a smile. Still talking about it. Worth flying back across the Atlanic to visit it again. An everyday place but legendary.
Better than average biscuits but not the greatest of all time. You can't eat the grits with a fork they could stand to be a little thicker. Great staff !!
flat undercooked pancakes....was given frozen butter and 3 small pods of cold syrup...greasy tasting pancakes with a hint of onions...the window blinds were open and sun blinding us..being disabled (bad shoulder) kept me from closing the blind as one waitress suggested..she ended up having to close it...she moved to the next table to close their blinds and told them it "isn't rocket science to close a blind", what an insult, I bet she didn't spend 12 years in college earning several degrees as I have..GO DUCKS! never felt that insulted in a greasy spoon diner before...maybe I need to go back to college and earn a degree in CLOSING BLINDS like she must have done, it isn't rocket science, but for some of us Senior Citizens waiting on shoulder replacement surgery, it sure feels like it..BTW---the Silver Spoon needs to shut down and do a heavy duty cleaning, get the dust off the blinds, the bugs out of the corners
We were in town on a business trip and the food was so good that we visited both days we were in town for business. In addition to the GREAT food, the service was decent (understandable for a packed diner). Our table of seven really enjoyed the food on both visits. For anyone looking for breakfast I HIGHLY recommend this Veteran friendly restaurant.
Fantastic local diner. In many ways, a Time Machine. Fast and efficient service. Delicious and affordable food. The best breakfast in town?.. Probably not. But half the reason to go is the setting and to experience a small but important part of Atlanta’s culinary history.

I love diners and this is a traditional, classic diner! Been around a long time. The food was great. Service was great and the inside has a nostalgic feel! Highly recommend.

I was a bit disappointed in the food since this place has such a long line most of the time when I've tried to come. The hash browns were mostly crunchy and over cooked. The pancake looked great, but left much to be desired in taste. It stuck to the plate and tasted a bit undercooked. The pie was there real reason I came. It's difficult to find lemon icebox pie, it was good but not exactly what I was hoping for.
The service was great and very attentive.

The legendary Silver Skillet in Atlanta.
Great retro diner that has served the common folks and the elite over the years.
The food is as always, like home.
Excellent food, quick service, and a great atmosphere. Get there early as it gets busy.

A bit packed, but they fit us in. Food was absolutely good. Asked the waitress for her recommendation and she did not disappoint. The chicken biscuit was delicious. Flavorful, crispy, and actually not dry like other places.
