Southern National

Honestly, I was surprised. We were in Summer Hill trying to get dinner somewhere else but they couldn't squeeze us in, so we ended up at Southern National. The food was SO good. Great variety, fresh ingredients, flavorful. The drinks and wine selection are spot onz and we've always had great service. We've added this to our regular rotation.

Josh gave us incredible service. The atmosphere is cozy. The food was delightful. If you like seafood, collards and mussels are must try. Compliments to the chef and staff for bringing fine dining to the Summerhill area.

I can’t say enough good things about this restaurant. The staff are exceptional; they bent over backward to accommodate us and the many idiosyncrasies of our group, including our service animal, our lateness to the reservation, and dietary restrictions. The server knew the menu inside out and gave great recommendations. Not that you can go wrong with anything on the menu; it’s all elevated southern comfort food in the best way. Good and strong cocktails. Very cosy atmosphere befitting the fall evening. Will make a point to return when I’m next in Atlanta.

From the time one of the servers opened the door for us until the point Randy brought us a dessert to share, as he overheard that we were all celebrating our birthday month, the service was exceptional! The food was outstanding. I highly recommend this place and I will definitely be back. I ordered the New York strip and “fall in a bowl” which was sweet potatoes, squash and other veggies…just delicious. Please go and enjoy…there is no way you won’t!

Wow. The food is delicious and fresh here. I loved every single item I ordered. The salad was beautiful and delicious. You can taste the fresh local ingredients. I feel so satisfied after our meal. We had the bread, the cured salmon salad and the chicken and wow — amazing! The Negroni was ✨ Can’t wait to return.

Omg the food is absolutely incredible!! The flavors are delicious and perfect pairings that I wouldn’t think to make myself. For example red fish and black eyed peas. Courtney our bartender was also so sweet and helpful. Atmosphere is laid back but elevated food. Love this place!

First off you can’t go wrong on the food and service. Impeccable in both categories! We had a party of 6 (3 couples meeting for the first time). Our issue was the volume of the restaurant music. We didn’t want to be that party that complains about the volume but other than the person sitting next to the other, it was very difficult to hear any one else at the table.
Are they trying to be a hip bar or a fine dining restaurant? Can’t be both in my opinion, especially when there is no division between the two.
Nothing wrong with a background vibe, but not at the expense of good conversations.
I will say that when our dinner plates were picked up and we were done dining..the music volume went down. Someone had to of said something. A bit late for us, but thank you.

Fried chicken thighs were so good. Classy setting with curated portions and a great combo of flavors. Nice that there is a special parking lot. A bit pricey so will save for special occasions.

Wonderful place in a super cute neighborhood. Sat at the bar, great service. Great vibe. Solid music. This place is a win in my books. Had the carrots and beets plate and lamb rigatoni. Both were stellar.

Awesome restaurant decor and service! Enjoyed red fish, biscuits, Johnny cakes and closed with cheesecake.

Parking: Free parking is a quick walk away from the restaurant.
