I was very dissatisfied with the restaurant overall. Our whole party received their food except for me. I was told that the food was coming but it came out 45 minutes later than everyone else’s and after the check had already come. When we asked to speak to the assistant manager, we were greeted by a women that was dressed extremely unprofessional, a bubble coat, a flannel, baseball cap and whatever else it was (even though they say they have a chic or business casual dress code for customers). She had an aggressive, I don’t care demeanor, a defensive tone, and attitude when we asked why the food took so long and if there could be any type of compensation. She basically said sorry, but there was nothing she could do and that’s just how long it takes to cook the chicken. She was then talking to her coworkers in the back about the situation, again very unprofessional , which someone in our party overheard. After waiting all that time my food was not even up to par. Overall we will not be back and not recommend anyone to come here. Very disappointing experience. The valet was also crazy in that we pulled up, paid $20 for the valet which usually means they park the car and pull the car back up for you however the guy was trying to make us pull out and park our own car which we said we would not do since we just paid him. He came into the restaurant and gave us back the keys which meant that we had to go to the car ourselves, it was not pulled up for us. Don’t call it valet service if it is not valet.

The dining area was just as tattered as the bathrooms..very dirty. One member of our party had to wait 45 minutes for her food and we were done with ours by the time hers came out. The manager only offered a “I’m sorry there’s nothing I can do” with a passive aggressive laugh. She continued to blame the server for our food coming out late. It doesn’t matter whose fault it is, why not compensate for the late food? Anything is better than a measly “I’m sorry” and the passive aggression that was given. Sweet potato fries were burnt. Salmon was not seasoned and grits were mid… I’m not sure how it has so many good reviews. The waffle was not good. Anything homemade would’ve been better than this. It was so empty in there on a Sunday for brunch… we should’ve known. Somebody in those reviews are lying!! Very confused on how The Hive is still in business. I think the assistant manager gets a kick out of hearing customers complain.. the smirk on her face told it all. Even while we were being respectful about their mistake.

We were a party of four and it was extremely slow on Sunday, January 11, 2026. We had one member of our party that received her meal (chicken and waffle) after we asked for the check. We had been here for a very lengthy period of time. The assistant manager who looked VERY unprofessional, she looked like she had just rolled out of bed, only offered “ an apology for a lack of communication that fried chicken takes a while to cook.“ That’s unacceptable and we will not be returning.
