The facilities are wonderful. It was very clean! The staff was hospitable. The location near the aquarium was excellent. But, it is not a family hotel: The bathroom was either clear or silhouette glass so people in the bedroom area have visibility. The attire of women in the roof pool was beyond thongs with a lot of bending over and flaunting. Recommend a family time and an adult pool time. I thought it was limited to the pool but it was in elevators and on the main floor in the evening where it turns into a loud party atmosphere. Waiting on our car before 8 AM, a woman was outside in the provided bathrobe loud and profane on her phone.

OMG! After receiving exceptional service during our stay, I am convinced that the W in the W Hotel stands for Walter :o) From the time we arrived until the moment we left Walter greeted us with a welcome smile and the utmost hospitality. Rest assured, when we return to Atlanta this W Hotel is where we will stay! Of course no one succeeds alone and Lexus was a beautiful compliment to Walter's cheerful demeanor. Thank you both very much for the warm reception :o) - The Weiss Family

I'm a government employee. I booked a room for friday night. After my flight had a 2 hours delay, I finally arrived at the hotel around midnight. Nobody was at the front desk. I called the guy, he was in the back office. When he arrives at the front desk, he's very polite, I think everything is going to be ok but someone calls, he answers right away and stays on the phone instead of putting the customer on hold to serve the person that was already in front of him. After a few minutes, he hangs up, asks for my IDs etc. Phone rings again... he answers! Finishes the call, now he asks for my government ID. I can't find it, but I have a business card. Nope, doesn't fly with him. Now he is over polite, like really annoyingly polite and obnoxious. I'm a platinum member, I've never been asked for my government ID. I try to reason with the guy, to check on the government website to see that my name is actually on it or to call customer service. "I'm so sorry sir, but this is our policy and there is nothing i can do". So I ask what my options are : "Well, sir, I'm very sorry but you'll have to pay the full price which is 400$ a night". If I didn't book the night, I'd be charged the night I didn't take. I asked to speak to a manager, he said he was the manager. This guy has no place in a front desk, he shouldn't talk to customers. This is ridiculous. So at past midnight I had to find another hotel, and obviously the guy wouldn't help me with that. And because it was past midnight, we had no way to find if there was room in a nearby hotel, because the Marriott website doesn't let you book for the day before... So I had to walk to every hotel around. We found one around 1:30am! This is outrageous! To this day, I wasn't charged for the room I didn't get, we will see if they do it or not. But if you plan on going to this hotel, pick another one, you won't have any service!

Well, as a Marriott Lifetime Titanium Elite member, I've stayed in a LOT of Marriotts of different levels over the years. This is easily the worst, and with a massive price tag attached (it was a high-volume weekend) I would expect SO much more. I've had better service, rooms, and amenities at a Hampton Inn in rural America. We called the W to ask if we could check in a little early and we were told "Sure, no problem" so we arrived an hour and a half early. We were told our room wasn't ready, and we'd be placed in a queue. Due to our status, we were supposed to be given priority. Nevertheless, it was an extremely busy weekend, so we understood and settled in to wait. About an hour into the wait, my 11 yo daughter - who has a diagnosed anxiety disorder (SAD) which is protected under ADA. When I explained the situation and asked if there was ANY way a room could be ready, the front desk staff were incredibly rude and didn't even look me in the eye. No care whatsoever for her situation. Waited until 4 pm which was the check-in time, and the room was STILL not ready. I saw people come in after me and get rooms before us. I'm a pretty laid-back person and understand hotel staff are under a lot of stress and have to deal with rude people, so I was really polite in all of my interactions with staff. I wish I could say the same for them. That said, the staff in the coffee shop AND the restaurant were lovely. When we finally got to our room, the refrigerator didn't work (would've been a problem if my husband needed to keep his insulin cold as he typically does). The carpet was threadbare in places (not a big deal). The room looked like it hadn't been redecorated in quite some time, but wasn't terrible and was pretty clean. We placed the Do Not Disturb sign out and went about our business. The next morning, we were woken 2.5 hours before checkout by Housekeeping banging on the door asking if we were checking out. Nope, not until 11, but thanks for waking us up. The Do Not Disturb was still in place (I checked). Not thrilled since it was a late night the night before. Breakfast in the restaurant was good, but it was supposed to be included and I was charged for it. Parking was $55 a night, in addition to the $500 per night price tag. Internet is not free unless you're a Bonvoy member. Essentially, my biggest issue was the front desk staff. I've asked for the manager to call to provide feedback and we haven't heard from them. Again, the front desk staff couldn't have cared less. And they were the same with every other person that came in - I was privy to it since I was hanging out in the lobby for such a long period of time. I have literally NEVER written a review like this before but given the multitude of issues. especially as they relate to my daughter's anxiety and the associated indifference and the poor communication by staff I felt it was necessary. I would have given this feedback directly to the manager, but they never called me back when I asked them to.

We stayed here for the Taylor Swift concert. Check-in was supposed to be at 4:00pm. When we arrived, several of our booked rooms were not ready. We were told they would call when available. It was 8:22pm when we received our calls. We were expecting a 30-40 minute delay...not a 4 hour and 22 minute delay!! Of course, we were already at the concert, so we didn't check in until almost midnight. Thank goodness someone in our group had a room, so 4 of us could go to his room to change and get ready for the concert. Apparently, there were numerous others who could not occupy their rooms because we couldn't even use the lobby restroom due to the number of people in there changing and getting ready for the concert. I will add that the staff was very friendly, but could not really assist us because they were not even able to give us an approximate time our rooms would be ready. I have been a loyal Marriott customer for years and this was certainly not up to their standards. I'm not sure if staff didn't show up for work or if they just couldn't handle the volume, but this is unacceptable. Marriott, you can do better than this!!

This hotel was excellent. I was greeted by the most friendliest staff, my room was spacious and well maintained, the mini bar was reasonably prices, and my bed was made up each day. The front desk was stellar as they made me feel so welcomed and even gave me a great check out experience. Thank you, The W ATL. I will be back!

While the location is terrific for going to the Aquarium, Civil Right museum, Coca Cola, and the College Football Hall of Fame the W was the most disappointing hotel!! This is not a hotel that caters to families. This hotel is very outdated and the rooms are cheaply decorated. The drawer next to the beds were jammed and unusable . The clock/Alarm very difficult to use and needed staff to help. Weirdly laid out bathrooms with a glass wall to the bedroom which woke everybody up when anyone turned on the light at night. The beds however were very comfortable. We came with our grandsons and hoped to use the pool….not heated! The restaurant was only open at 8am on weekends so we had to walk ½ mile to eat breakfast! The next day we tried the hotel restaurant. No kids menu , breakfast for 2 kids and 2 adults $100! Our room only had beds made and towels replaced, not cleaned properly. When packing to leave we found a socks evidently from a previous guest! We expected nicer than a standard Marriott but felt like we stayed in a motel. Will never stay in a W again. Avoid this hotel! We are Marriott Rewards Bonvoy members and were so disappointed!

Hansani was an excellent manager. The team of “Tee and Nichole were rear. Views were great from the room and mattress wants to make me want to comeback. Valet was nice. The DJ at night was great. Location is right in midtown

It was my first time staying at W and I was looking forward to a luxurious weekend. Instead we got an average hotel that was underwhelming considering the price. Yes the location was convenient, there was a nice bar in the hotel and a restaurant but these things didn’t make up for the small room that lacked some privacy (see-through shower doors opening to the living area) and basic amenities. There was no wow factor for me and everything seemed a bit shabby and basic. We ordered room service and the meal was incorrect and so bad we sent it back. It was truly disappointing. Over all if I had to stay in downtown Atlanta again I would choose someplace else. The only bright spot was the staff who were pleasant and attentive during the stay. But at almost $500/night which didn’t include extra for valet parking, that’s not enough to make me book again.

I stayed here for a bachelor party trip. Great location with nice bar & restaurant on site. Walking distance to several attractions. The suite and corner rooms are amazing. Staff was very friend and helpful, they even offer an upgrade due to my titanium status.

I purchased a unit on the 25th floor at The Residences at W Atlanta - Downtown. We just moved in since the end of May 2022; my kids and I love it. The staffs are nice; they would help you at any time. Especially Diana, the Director, ensured my move-in was as smooth as possible. Most of my packages are delivered by Concierge staff by my doors. All the negative reviews are by the W Hotel - Downtown Atlanta guests, not the Residences ownership. The only negative about the place is we are sharing the amenities with the hotel guests. Some guests are rude, especially in the pool area.

One of my first stays at a W hotel, and first stay at the W - Atlanta and I will be sure to return while in the area. The W feels like an upscale boutique type hotel with welcoming vibes. Recognized as a plat elite at check in and had a nicely sized 'wonderful room - suite'. Well appointed rooms with stylish decor and floor to ceiling windows with my room overlooking downtown ATL. Very nice bathroom, fixtures and shower with rainfall shower head. Separate room with the toilet in the bathroom as well. I thoroughly enjoyed the room and space. The W bar was right in the lobby and featured some specialty cocktails and decor as well. The gym was located on the upper floor of the hotel and was large, clean and plenty of free weights and machines for use as well as cardio equipment. Breakfast was located in the restaurant on-site or at the grab and go breakfast spot. Service was somewhat slow but the food was good. A $20 voucher was included for plat elite guests and that barely covered a drink and a entree item. Location could be better as other than a brewery and a pizza spot there is not a lot within the direct area but a short walk to Peachtree and a more busy downtown is within reach when the weather is nice. Overall a pleasant stay and would return while traveling in the area .

What this hotel gets right: the public areas are pretty, the food and drinks are good, and it is clean. What it doesn't: the service is very rough for a luxury hotel. The line for check in snakes into the bar, with no one organizing it. The clerks simply say "next" and whoever notices, is "next." My check-in clerk didn't welcome me, she simply said "license and credit card." Calls to "Whatever / Whenever" ring forever. Messages on the Marriott app. are answered very slowly. Housekeeping staff who need to talk to another housekeeping staffer simply yell. As they enter and exit rooms, they just let the doors slam shut creating a terrible noice all afternoon. My room was fine. But it. was the little things: robe hung on a broken hanger, closet lighting that flickered on, then stayed off for the rest of the stay. If you're looking for a place to rest, this is it. If you're looking for a "W" luxury experience, it is not.

The staff were very very friendly, but there was no bell person to help with bags, etc. The room service menus were extremely limited and had very limited times. The restaurants were also closed most of the days/nights I stayed there. My keys stopped working multiple times which was a headache. The gym, while nice and clean, didn’t have water one day and no water fountain could be found. So I had to pay for the water in my room that was $5 for a small bottle. I don’t think it’s actually legal to not have a water source or fountain in a gym. The hotel itself is dated and is in desperate need of a renovation. My room was only cleaned 3 out of the 4 days and I was gone all day without the DND sign on my door. There also isn’t much to do downtown. The nearest pharmacy is almost a mile away and very few restaurants and bars. Overall, I was pretty disappointed in the hotel and lack of services available.
