It’s possibly the best Atlanta landmark worth visiting. Mostly unchanged by the times. Chili dog, chili burger, onion rings with a frosted orange. Yep. That’s the order. That’s what I’ll have. Just go. It can be very crowded. Truthfully, the more crowded, the more authentic the experience.
Had a chili cheese dog and chili cheese burger. I was surprised to get a burger very similar to McDonald's kids cheeseburger with canned chili on it. The hotdog was a thin hotdog with the same chili and a slice of American cheese. Not a fan. Onion rings were really greasy and I'm sure prepared in advance because they were droopy and lacked crispiness. Not impressed. If I went there again (if) I would get the fries and try the sweet potato pie. My husband's orange...
This place is not necessarily about the food, albeit good burgers and rings!! It is an institution and SO MUCH FUN!!! I ALWAYS take my out of town visitors here!! Almost 100 years old. And you haven’t lived until you have eaten at the Varsity!!!! And in a GT game day! WOW!!!!
