The hostess was truly overwhelmed and though we arrived 30 mins prior to our reservation, we're sat close to 15 minutes after our reservation time knowing that people who had no reservation walked in and 12 people were sat before us. No explanation. No eye contact. After we were sat, we were told by other parties that they were there at 1p and again, by the time we sat 2:15, they still didn't have their food and another table stayed their food was given to another table and they were still waiting over 45 minutes for their correct food. Overall, a terrible and disappointing experience.
Make sure you park in their parking garage. They validate parking. Very nice setting. It was loud and the food was good.
Excellent food, prompt and friendly service without being intrusive. Classy atmosphere. Will come back!
Sushi was good not great. It was way too spicy. We asked if it spicy and we were told no. My mouth was on fire. I didn't can enjoy my cocktail because my mouth was on fire.
Wonderful experience, first time but we will definitely be back whenever we are in Atlanta
Melody was an excellent server and the food, as always was good. Try the fried green tomatoes! Thrive continues to be a moderately up-scale restaurant in an otherwise sea of mostly mediocre fast food restaurants in the heart of downtown Atlanta.
I booked this as a resident in Atlanta area for a business dinner to try something new. I am unsure if it was the day of week (Tuesday) lack of staff, or just over all. So I rated this a 3 out of 5. I am very partial to giving out 5's but Thrive fell short of a 5 or even a 4. The menu is eclectic with choices of sushi (mostly rolls, but also nigiri or sashimi) as well as standard fare (chicken, pork, beef). So it does check the box to bring a wide variety of tastes. Our server had a huge party so seeing him was a chore. They should have doubled up on our table or given to another server. Just my opinion in the matter for having waited tables for 5 years. Appetizer of fried chicken livers (very good) and fried green tomatoes (good as well, but did have a bit of spice some of our table didn't like). We had an assortment of sushi rolls (rainbow, vesuvias, and firecracker (best one). Our party also the fried airline chicken (large portion of fried chicken with greens and sweet potato puree. They did not care in particular for this dish. The greens were a bit spicy. For dessert we tried the peach cobbler on biscuit and that was decent. Overall this restaurant left wanting and I felt as if I made a mistake in trying it out. I wish the best for them and we did try them out on blind whim.
As soon as I arrived, I was seated by the cutest and sweetest hostess. The server came right over and offered water. She also let me know they have a parking lot and can validate your parking ticket. That was good information to know. It was not crowded, BUT if you order sushi be prepared to wait. It was ok because we are patient people and the menu tells you it takes longer. The food was delicious and the drinks were great! I will definitely return. I am a pescatarian so there were a good bit of options for me in the menu.
We had a party of 9 with no problem fitting us in. Some of us had sushi and it was very good with big rolls. The burger and fries were better than expected. Shortrib meal was very good. Service top notch. Manager came out to fix one order and made everything right. Fried green tomatoes and pot stickers great apps. Will definitely come back.
Short rib came out cold and had to get sent back. The manager brought out a new one. Manager had good customer service but the good did not meet expectations.
Restaurantji Recommends
Great options on the menu and unique variety. Been visiting Atlanta for many years and happy to have found a place I want to return to.
I ordered the seafood mac and cheese which was excellent. Huge portions so I brought literally half of it home. We each had an Old Fashioned and loved them. My husband had the duck breast and said it was wonderful. I would definitely go back to this restaurant when visiting Atlanta again.
Our first time here and everything was perfect! Shanelle was the best thing ever and made sure we were treated like royalty. Highly recommend and don't miss the Fried Green Tomatoes!
Delicious Tuna burger!! Wife and I had a great dinner before the concert. Thanks so much.
The service was terrible as she showed disinterest. The hamburger, which was ordered medium well, arrived short of medium. The server didn't help, though, because it was 20 minutes before she showed up again.
