Tio Lucho’s has a great vibe and the service was excellent - friendly, attentive, and welcoming. Unfortunately, the food didn’t quite live up to my expectations. Having traveled to Peru many times, I didn’t find the offerings tasted particularly authentic. The $15 pisco sour didn’t taste like a traditional Peruvian pisco sour, and the ceviche was good but significantly overpriced for what you get. Overall, it’s a fun spot with solid service, but the food itself was just okay.

The food isn’t flavorful to my liking. They kept saying it’s a Peruvian soul food fusion restaurant but only had 2 things on the menu that were actually southern. Which were hushpuppies and a dish with some collard greens. Laughable.
Our server Jose was lackluster. His service was mid. It’s not filled with people that are excited or passionate about the food.
$14 for ONE EMPANADA is wild to me.
Manager came and asked us if everything was good and I was honest. And she proceeded to tell me that “you should be thankful you’re eating today, that’s the important thing” IMAGINE.

It’s rare that I go to a restaurant and love EVERY single dish. The food was absolutely delicious. We got ceviche, fry bread, roasted chicken, potatoes, collards, quinoa salad, and cinnamon donuts and I can’t wait to go back!

This was our first time and it was amazing! We have a lot of experience with Peruvian food and this is next level Peruvian. The dishes take everything you already love about Peruvian food and elevate to another level. We had the Hamachi which was short fresh and the sauce is drinkable. We also had the Pulpo which was super tender. The Black Garlic Chimi was savory, rich and delicious. We also enjoyed the fry bread. The whipped cream cheese was super rich and had a perfect sour note from the goat cheese. The only thing I would change on the fry bread would have been a little more of the preserves. Chris was server and was amazing. He was super engaging and enjoyed the discussions about the dishes. He passed our compliments to the chef. When we were done, Chris surprised us with a complimentary order of sweet potato and squash donuts. They were so unique and the sweet syrupy sauce that we poured over them was amazing! Overall a great experience. Can’t wait to go back.

The food is good! This review pertains only to the ceviche session, which was terrible! It pains me to give a bad review, but I don’t want others to make the same mistake we did. We were led to believe there would be instruction on making one’s own ceviche (how to make the leche de Tigre etc). We were so disappointed. There was no hands on portion of this session. Instead the chef basically shows you how to filet a fish and that’s it. You get to eat it after obviously, but tremendously over priced compared to what you would pay normally for similar amount of food. Would have been awesome to have a session where you actually learn how to make ceviche.
Really great staff and food! Came after a long trip and the manager came over and provided us great service and extra food! It was fantastic and if you are looking for good Peruvian food I would come here.

Loved the food, loved our server, Rasheed, he was top notch! Knowledgeable, super pleasant, not pushy but gave us awesome recommendations — everything he recommended was delicious pollo ala brasa; passion fruit lime tart and the mango sours!!!

We were just in the area looking for something to eat, and coincidentally we came upon this restaurant! The food is delicious, the drinks are too 👏🏼 we recommend the ceviche mixto and the short rib seco — which was enough food for 2.
