I was really looking forward to trying this spot after a friend’s recommendation, but unfortunately my experience didn’t live up to the hype. I placed a to-go order for my wife and myself, and right away there was a mix-up — I had requested garlic mash with my pot roast but was given rice instead. The rice itself was hard, and both the mac and cheese and pot roast were overly salty, which made the meal underwhelming.
The highlights were definitely the cornbread and the sweet potatoes — those were excellent and the best part of the order.
Overall, I left disappointed since I went out of my way to try this place and had high hopes. I may come back and give something else on the menu a try, but this first visit was not what I expected.

ordered catering for my job, and let’s just say my coworkers aren’t exactly used to soul food like this. When they tried the pot roast and that creamy, flavorful mac & cheese, one of them literally said, “This is bursting with flavor!” 😂
Now every Friday, it’s a done deal — we make sure we cater Trey da Chef. It’s officially a tradition. Food hits every single time. Highly recommend if you want to introduce your office to real seasoning and Southern comfort done right.

This restaurant is inside Our Bar ATL! It's amazing. We were looking for soul food late at night on a Sunday and this suggestion came up on Google, so at first we didn't realize it's in the bar. The food is so good, decent prices, and the bar is a lot of fun. I would definitely come back here to try the weekday menu as Sunday is soul food. The green beans are the best I've ever eaten!

We went for the pot roast and mac and cheese on Saturday, it's only served on Thursdays and Sundays, so the girl that's promoting it on Instagram should say that ..also this place is in a dark bar.
