This place used to be a vibe until Kandi Burress posted it to her instagram story and brought in the wrong clientele. It’s ghetto now! Me and my girl Courtney have to find a new spot
The experience was horrible. My friends and I had been looking forward to visiting Tropicale for a very long time. I had made this reservation over a month ago for a group of 6 people which is extremely difficult to get for a group that size in Atlanta. We showed up at our scheduled reservation time and the entire restaurant was shut down. No one was around, no lights on, no signs on the door, just nothing! Absolutely nothing. All six of us were dressed up for the occasion, paid for an uber over to the restaurant and literally there was nothing opened there. No answer on the phone or on instagram. On top of all of that I received an email and text confirmation 24 hours prior to our reservation time stating that if we do not show up my credit card will be charged $50 per person that no shows which is why we were certain to arrive on time! Its a shame this restaurant looked like a super cool concept, but the lack of respect for their clients time and effort is extremely disappointing

The Venue wasn't OPEN. I did NOT understand how we can still make reservation if the Venue is temporary close for the season.
I wouldn't know about the food because the restaurant was closed when we got there and no one answered the phone, door, or my email so we had to find another place to eat last minute for our anniversary

I have a feeling that this was the "spot" last summer but my reservation this past weekend was far from somewhere that I would recommend. Service was absolutely terrible, valet was $20, the umbrellas and seat cushions had mold on them, and we left before we even ordered an appetizer. Definitely don't recommend -- there's better restaurants in the area.
This place feels like you are at home with a nice bar and server of your own...but wait they serve everyone??? Doesn't seem like they are. They make you feel like you are the most important person there. Celebrity sitings here...can see anyone from Rick Ross, Anthony Hamilton, Jermaine Dupree and others here on Random nights
This is the most overrated, disrespectful and complicated place in Atlanta. It’s impossible to get a reservation, or get anyone to answer a phone call, email, text message, carrier pigeon or SOS signal. They obviously don’t need the money, because they are never open, and obviously “may close” on a whim.Only good for your one Instagram photo with your overpriced drink.

The food was great, very flavorful. The service was a little slow especially since it was not very crowded and our server/waitress was not very social. The ambiance was awesome and drinks were great! They did not have a dessert menu and waitress kept telling us to go across the street for gelato.... Overall fun evening with girlfriends
The food was good, not great. The service was good, not great. The open air venue is the best part, but the outdoor umbrellas are covered in mold and should be changed. It really reduces the class and aesthetic of the establishment.
I had previously read the reviews and some of what I was reading were not good. I can honestly say this place was really good! The food, the environment, and the drinks were all good. It was four of us and we all ordered something different and everyone was pleased with their food! We had reservations for 5:30 but didn't leave until around 8 or so. I highly recommend visiting this place!
The only thing good about this place is the atmosphere and how pretty the cocktails look. I made a reservation and came on time. The manger told us how the tables were only for people of 4 so he sat us on high chairs on a table in the middle of the area. I was confused because there were 3 tables around us that had only 2 people.. but anyways we were enjoying ourselves, ordered food and a lot of drinks and after an hr the manager comes over saying not to order anymore that our table should’ve been empty by now. So he pretty much was rushing us. Very unorganized and unprofessional. Never had that happen to me at any place I’ve been.
Not the type to normally write a poor review, butit was that bad. Despite calling ahead and asking about covid protocols, it was a total cluster. No host, no waiters in site, tables were packed, unclean, and zero staff wearing a mask. Took about 30-45 min for someone to greet our table and then inform us they were out of half of their food and drink items. Since they were “busy”, she asked if we would mind ordering our drinks in a plastic cup (instead of their normal presentation w/ fruit and garnish). They were busy, we said fine. But again, felt super uneasy with the surroundings. I then informed them of my shellfish allergy and after some confusion and back and forth, I was told everything is cooked on the same grill and there was no way to avoid cross contamination. I understand it’s a small place, but they literally said there was not one item I could be served, other than watermelon. The owner could tell things were a cluster as well and came around sweaty (no mask) pouring free rum shots at every table. No cleaning or sense of precaution. The whole experience sucked and we ended up leaving. It was likely opening week, but given Covid, you need to be extra prepared. I hope this place gets it together because it has potential (big fan of Antico’s). Another tip - find a way to accommodate allergies and add a vegetarian option, too.
