I've eaten here twice now ordering a myriad of sashimi and tempura rolls. The food is consistently fantastic. The atmosphere is nice and the service is good. I'll take pictures and video the next time I eat here. Park on the street but do not park in the 15 minute only parking

this place slaps. the menu is diverse, the food’s delicious, the service is great/pickup orders are always ready on time, and it’s one of the only spots in the area that’s open late. very grateful to have umai in the neighborhood ❣️

I was really happy with the atmosphere. The music was quiet, which I really like. The restaurant wasn’t incredibly busy, which was awesome. My husband and I enjoy peaceful dinners and this place delivered just that. The baby octopus was delicious. The server didn’t check on us too much, just the right amount. We forgot our credit card on the table and the server ran down the street to get it back to us.

My roommate and I have ordered the chicken teriyaki and avocado rolls almost every night since the start of the school year — this restaurant has fed us through freshmen year and has been a staple. The food is so flavorful and delicious and is always consistent — we are so grateful!!

Service and atmosphere was good. Food was incredibly mediocre and almost flavorless. We got soft shell crab for appetizer ($12.50) it was ONE tiny tiny crab next to big deep fried vegetables, the description only said soft shell crab. The udon wasn’t good, after a couple bites we couldn’t eat it anymore even though we came starving. We got the Godzilla roll, which was supposed to have eel sauce on top, but instead they put hoisen sauce, maybe because it looks the same and they thought we couldn’t tell the difference, the role was almost tasteless. Along with the 3 amigos roll, which had mango on it, and we could barely taste even the mango. Not sure how it’s even possibly to take the flavor out of so many things. I do not recommend this food, it feels like a tourist trap.

SERVICE: It was empty on a weeknight, they sat us as soon as we walked in. Took our drink orders immediately and had to ask them to come back for our food orders because service was THAT GOOD! Great service. FOOD: $10 LARGE HOT SAKE: exactly what I thought $10 sake would taste like. It fills 4 sake cups total just to give you an estimate on size. Cheaply priced in my opinion! $9 SPICY SCALLOP ROLL: scallop & avo with sriracha & mayo drizzled over it. Looks EXACTLY the same as the NEGI HAMACHI ROLL. $9 NEGI HAMACHI ROLL: yellowtail & cucumber with sriracha & mayo drizzled over it. See note above. OVERALL: Decently priced food for the quality. I will definitely be back to try more items on the menu!

THEE BEST SERVICE! Honestly the best miso soup I’ve ever had, full of flavor! My sushi was fresh and flavorful! Honestly they need 5 stars their rating! Awesome, authentic & welcoming with a great variation of sake, noodles, And traditional dishes.
