The food is top-notch, feels good, and rocks you to sleep, Soul Food. Just like Momma used to good. Turkey wings, grave, Mac n cheese, cabbage, corn bread, and some slap your momma Peach Cobbler. I sat back after eating all of that and said DAMN! It's a little out of my way to go, but I drive around a lot and many times will past by there on my home. It's a stop now for me.
Walter's Soul Food Cafe has to be one of the best Soul Food Restaurants in Atlanta. The Baked Smothered Chicken over rice is my favorite dish. All the vegetables are cooked fresh. The Mac & Cheese is the real deal. If you want some really good soul food at a reasonable price, I would recommend Walter's Soul Food Cafe.
I'm not a big fan of soul food, only because what people consider as soul food now looks like sloop & it's not good at all..... BUT baby, when I say this food was amazing, it was AMAZING. I got the vegetarian plate, I chose the Mac & Cheese, lima beans, greens, yams & for dessert peach cobbler. It was not over seasoned. Everything blended so well in my palate. I was more than satisfied. After several hrs, I was still full..lol
