We came here for our first time for our anniversary, Josh took care of us and he was just phenomenal. We asked him for recommendations on our plates and our drinks which he paired perfectly. He made sure of it! He was able to deliver an exquisite service along with a very detailed description of our plates. Would go again, would recommend to a friend!

Bar drinks to expensive ordered martini with no vermouth and got charged up charge for vermouth

Opentable Diner

Not only did our wait person, Jonathan, provide delightful service and conversation, we sat in a room with gloriously large windows with greenery gently flowing outside the windows. The entire evening was relaxed and delicious. This was our second visit in three days while we were in town for a week. You won't regret the delicious food at a reasonable price. Enjoy!

Traveling on business and always looking for new places. Read review and thought I would give it a try. When I came in, about 20% of restaurant was filled. Greeted very quickly and pleasantly, seated right away. I then sat and sat watching three other tables seated after me. Someone came by said “hi” filled my water glass with tap water and then I sat as I watched the three tables following me get greeted by waiters and asked if they made a decision on drinks or apps. I sat a bit more until a server came by and asked if I wanted a drink. I asked if I could have some sparking water and provided my drink order plus food at same time anticipating a long wait. He then came by about 5-8 minutes later to say they ran out of sparkling water to which I humbly accepted the tap water. In retrospect I wonder if the first person knew they were out of sparkling water but shouldn't the waiter have known. What high-end restaurant runs out of sparkling water? Isn't that like not having spoons? More of that later. About another 15-20 minutes went by before the waiter finally came by to say the drink would be up shortly. I clocked it and it was 30 minutes before getting the drink. The entree was incredible as far as food quality goes... the drink was great too. I ordered another in fact before I was done with my first anticipating another delay. I finished the entree about 20 min later as waiter came and said the drink should be out shortly. Not sure if the bar was short staffed but it was about 30 minutes from ordering the second drink to getting it. I decided the food was so good I would look past the service and get a dessert. That came to the table about 20 minutes after order. No utensils on the table and the waiter said, “would you like a spoon?” It wasn't a question of “would I like a spoon or fork”, just “would I like a spoon”. I said, “I'm not sure how I'm supposed to eat this without something”. Wouldn't you just bring some sort of utensil to the table with the dessert?

White Oak is very pretty and welcoming inside, I liked taking a look at the garden too. Cocktails we great. Service was lovey. Both proteins (shrimp and chicken) were over cooked; chicken must have been sitting under a heat lamp for quite some time, the edges were like jerky. Sauce with chicken and risotto were great however! Perfectly suitable spot for pre-event or on the occasion of being downtown.

Wonderful experience. Food was excellent albeit through a short menu. Exceptional wine list with many selections from regions beyond California and France. Impeccable service. Very attentive without being a bother. Enjoyed it!

Excellent food (roasted salmon, tuna nicoise salad) beautifully presented. Professional service in all respects. Ask for Timothy. Headed back soon!

Most dishes are very good. None of them are absolutely spectacular. Good, high end quality food and service. Prices are just a bit above that level. Appetizers can run into the $25 range.

First up, caveat: They changed menus in early 2025, they are *not* a french restaurant anymore. Their online menu is wrong now, they are trying to ... I don't know ... americanize? Modernize? Simplify?

The food we had was, well, alright (which at this price point means "disappointing"), I found two pieces of octopus in between two dozen pieces of potato. My friends seemed a bit more content (shrimp risotto, and a grilled fish), so that could be an outlier, but I felt short-changed.

Essentially, after their menu/style change they are overpriced for what they offer (ftr, US340 for four people, so I'm allowed to have expectations). The wine selection is still good (let's hope they don't run out of stock and switch that, too), but the food doesn't cut it anymore.

The service was outstanding, and we had an amazing experience with the wait staff (not so much with the maître d', she came across a bit intrusive).

So, sorry folks, but in the past, as a french restaurant I could see the value (also, the food was a class up), but this is just keeping extreme prices and stopping to deliver on them.

'Round the corner are great food places (Gus's for chicken, Hsu's for Chinese, Metro for Diner), there's no need to go to White Oak anymore to eat. If you enjoy good french wines (at still quite high prices), you might want to drop in for drinks, at least as long as their stock lasts.

Edited: I gave this place a second try a couple years later and was pleasantly surprised at how much things had improved. It wasn’t perfect by any means, but everything I had this time was generally tasty.

If you’re in downtown Atlanta, you could do a lot worse than this.

Hit below the very high price point in every category:
- service: we entered and nobody approached to seat us for 10min, eventually we just took a seat ourselves. Many staff doing nothing, the bartender had to came out to serve us in the end.
- Food: all 5 were dishes mediocre to just fine. Nothing special or very delicious.
- Atmosphere: too cold (actual temperature), too dark
- Price: above some Michelin star restaurants I’ve visited at $90 for a main/side/dessert, all of them small

I went for dinner on NYE, and though it was not busy, the service was extremely poor. I had a reservation for 8:00, arrived at 8:07 after a text at 8:06 telling me that the table was ready, then wasn’t seated until 8:34.
After being seated, it took over half an hour to get a glass of wine I ordered.
Next, I ordered a charcuterie board ($36) that was supposed to come with cured meats, cheeses, jams, pickles, pâtés and terrines, and bread. The bread was actually crackers but I was prepared to let that slide. After getting it and seeing no pâtés or terrines, I asked about this. I was told that the menu was updated and didn’t include certain things now. After asking if it was still $36 with less food I was told that “pâté” actually translates to “chef’s choice of meats”. No efforts were made to remedy this, just a “too bad” attitude from the waitress. The gnocchi entree had the consistency of mashed potatoes.
The couple behind me waited nearly an hour for their entrees and almost left before they arrived. They also said their beans were crunchy.
For the amount I paid, I am extremely disappointed with the food and staff.

The food was surprisingly underwhelming. The pork belly was weird and the gnocchi was just plain bad. Courtney and Lashonda, my bartenders, were lovely, fast and accommodating. Food was overpriced and not very good at all. The overall vibe was cool, but the food didn’t match expectations.

I enjoyed the food, as I had the Nicoice salad. However, for the price I would expect more than just a few pieces of tuna and basically all lettuce.

Service was terrible I walked out. Will not return. Was told could not be sat in dining room until 4:30pm (it was 4:17pm) yet there were folks already in the dining room.
