I have never been a waffle person, but Cafe on 8th has created such a delicious and savory way to enjoy waffles. I had the low country waffle which has the essence of a delicious bowl of Shrimp and Grits. The waffle texture of course is not grits, but held its own with the crunchy corners and pillowy centers that sopped up all that rich flavor. I'm excited to try the other dishes soon.

What an unfortunate experience. Despite the fact the food was delicious, the poor service is what will keep me from coming back. Walked in carrying a sleeping baby, clearly struggling to navigate through the tight space, and attempted to follow the directions on the wall (grab a table, then order). We were told we needed to give up the table and go back to the front to order first. They tried to charge me for tap water (?) if I was going to drink more than a cup…. and that’s after charging more than $40 for 3 waffles. The food presentation was good, the waffles were good, but served on plastic plates with plastic silverware. Not a restaurant to come to if you’re looking for a nice brunch spot where you’ll be waited on.

This was my first time eating here and I was a bit confused by the ordering process. It felt a bit like I was inconveniencing them by being there and asking questions and that I should have done my research before coming in.
For what they lack in service they make up for, somewhat, with food quality. I had the blueberry waffle and it was an above average waffle with a good balance of flavors. (7.8/10) The sweet tea was a bit above average from what I’ve had around Augusta.(7.2/10)
I will definitely be back to try a more savory waffle and to see if the service was a one time mistakr or a recurring downpoint.

I stumbled upon this place on Google and went to check it out today for the first time. The two women we saw working were very kind and were more than happy to provide us personal favorites. My husband ordered the tropical smoothing and chicken wrap, I got the avocado toast. Everything tasted great and we will both return with more people!

The food was amazing. There were 7 of us and we each got something different to try so we could sample from the others plate. Everything we tried was terrific. Our food came out hot and fresh even with such a large order. We can't wait to go back.

First time at establishment so I asked about a menu item and woman at desk responded condescendingly back (that was uncalled for and out of left field) but I still proceeded to get the food. Waffles were good but won’t be back due to the service. Just speaking from my experience maybe it will be different for other people but what a let down
This was a very pleasant surprise. My wife and I stopped in on a whim. I had the classic waffle and a waffle with egg. Both tasted great. The coffee was some of the best that I've had in a café. My wife had the blueberry waffles. Again very good. All could have a tad bit warmer.

I found the cafe through Google & decided to visit. The food presentation was beautiful and very unique. The only thing I wished was better is that our coffee was brought earlier and little things like coffee stirrers were provided. I kind of missed having a little syrup but I could have asked for it. We also were not checked on during the meal. I left feeling full. Will try again. If you like waffles, this is the place to try. The sourdough avocado waffle was great.

I was very impressed by Cafe on 8th and their waffles. I absolutely loved their Cinnamon Bun waffle which was accompanied by a cream cheese spread and spiced syrup. Their strawberry and peach waffle is also to die for.
The service was also spectacular, the ladies at the front were attentive and quick to answer any questions. The waffles also came out under 10 minutes of ordering so kudos!
Their coffee selection is a bit lacking but they do have a cold brew and a hot option as well. The cold brew was fine, nothing impressive but definitely not bitter or too strong so that’s a win in my book.
Overall, this place is great. They have limited seating (about 5 tables) but the ambience, tasty waffles, and speedy service makes it a five stars.
