The service was pretty good, and the servers were helpful with recommendations, which I always appreciate when trying a new spot. I also thought it was cool that the restaurant is attached to Taco Cat, and I definitely want to check that place out too. I’ve visited Savannah River Brewing Company countless times, but never ordered food until now, and WOW, have I been missing out! I LOVE that Savannah River Kitchen offers a curated menu with recommended beer pairings. Such a smart partnership!

The Korean chicken sandwich was one of the best I’ve ever had. Perfectly balanced and an explosion of flavor! My friend’s smashburger with bacon jam? That FIRST BITE?! Oh. My. GOD. Phenomenal!

I also love the family-friendly and dog-friendly atmosphere. In my experience, the best breweries across different cities and states embrace that environment! They host several events throughout the week, all advertised in advance, so naturally, it can get crowded. Complaining about crowds or dogs at an openly pet-friendly brewery seems a bit silly when that information is readily available beforehand.

And to anyone bothered by bartenders explaining the beers, they’re describing the flavor profiles and tasting notes of beers they BREW themselves! That’s part of the craft brewery experience, and something I’ve encountered at excellent breweries all over the country. It’s hospitality, not an insult to your beer knowledge!

We made plans to take a tour for the day after Thanksgiving and never would have guessed there was so much to making chocolate. “I remember hearing about the Boll Weevil cafe from classmates when I was a student at Augusta University but didn’t have the chance or time to go. While visiting the Augusta a few days ago with my mother, we decided to have lunch at the cafe. We were quite impressed with the restaurant being located near the waterfront. We both ordered the Salmon Meridian which was a grilled salmon placed on top of fried green tomatoes. We then had the option of a soup or salad with the course. I chose the Tomato apple soup and my mother the corn chowder. The tomato soup was a quite the surprise with the Fuji apples giving a sweet aftertaste along with the savory taste of the tomatoes. My mom’s corn chowder was creamy and as it said on the menu had a little kick to it! As for our main course, the salmon was tender with the fried green tomatoes adding some extra flavor to the dish. We also had excellent service from the staff who were kind enough to let us know what soups/salads were available for lunch. With excellent food, service and a welcoming atmosphere, this restaurant gets a big recommendation from me!”

“I remember hearing about the Boll Weevil cafe from classmates when I was a student at Augusta University but didn’t have the chance or time to go. While visiting the Augusta a few days ago with my mother, we decided to have lunch at the cafe. We were quite impressed with the restaurant being located near the waterfront. We both ordered the Salmon Meridian which was a grilled salmon placed on top of fried green tomatoes. We then had the option of a soup or salad with the course. I chose the Tomato apple soup and my mother the corn chowder. The tomato soup was a quite the surprise with the Fuji apples giving a sweet aftertaste along with the savory taste of the tomatoes. My mom’s corn chowder was creamy and as it said on the menu had a little kick to it! As for our main course, the salmon was tender with the fried green tomatoes adding some extra flavor to the dish. We also had excellent service from the staff who were kind enough to let us know what soups/salads were available for lunch. With excellent food, service and a welcoming atmosphere, this restaurant gets a big recommendation from me!”

I got two appetizers: steam shrimp dumpling and Viet chicken wings. Amazing! My baby ate all the dumplings. So soft and flavorful. It was perfect! My husband loved the wings. It was a sweet slightly spiced flavor. He loves that. I’m not a fan of that type of flavor but if you’re into it, you’d probably like it.

Entree: banh mi, the special type! REALLY GOOD. I’m Vietnamese so this made me so happy to eat. I live far away from Viet and just overall yummy Asian food so it was such a nice spot to drop by and pick up on the road trip.

Service was great! They gave me extra napkins because I was worried about spilling on the car ride. :) I got a matcha bubble tea too.

I only heard about this place recently, so I think they would benefit (if they have a desire for more foot traffic) from some social media posts, having their menu on their website, and some Singha or more drink options. But truly just upset I haven’t heard about Tifudi sooner as a long time Sawasdee and Jasmine Thai fan.”

Our server, Bre, was awesome and knew the menu front and back. She asked us our tastes and gave her recommendations based on our reply, and we were not disappointed! The staff was super friendly, again from our greeting down to the restroom attendants. The owner came around to check on us and to have a conversation, which made it feel even more personable. “I thought they only sold coffee. My daughter showed me the menu online, and I was amazed. 3 minutes later, we were there. I got the Blackberry Cobbler shake or smoothie. My daughter loves cheese dip so we always get a large and for the price they put it in a big to-go cup which is a lot more than you get another Mexican restaurants. The food is always good and consistent especially for the price. We usually get it together and so far I've never had any complaints.”
