“Great food! My husband and I split a club sandwich. I had a cup of chicken noodle soup and he had a bowl of loaded potato soup! We were stuffed! Our server, Eli, was wonderful! Very attentive! Best lunch I’ve had in a while!“

“I remember hearing about the Boll Weevil cafe from classmates when I was a student at Augusta University but didn’t have the chance or time to go. While visiting the Augusta a few days ago with my mother, we decided to have lunch at the cafe. We were quite impressed with the restaurant being located near the waterfront. We both ordered the Salmon Meridian which was a grilled salmon placed on top of fried green tomatoes. We then had the option of a soup or salad with the course. I chose the Tomato apple soup and my mother the corn chowder. The tomato soup was a quite the surprise with the Fuji apples giving a sweet aftertaste along with the savory taste of the tomatoes. My mom’s corn chowder was creamy and as it said on the menu had a little kick to it! As for our main course, the salmon was tender with the fried green tomatoes adding some extra flavor to the dish. We also had excellent service from the staff who were kind enough to let us know what soups/salads were available for lunch. With excellent food, service and a welcoming atmosphere, this restaurant gets a big recommendation from me!“

A big part of what made the experience so memorable was owner Mike Brown and his staff. They were incredibly hospitable, welcoming, and genuinely engaged in making sure we enjoyed ourselves. Rather than simply taking an order and delivering food and drinks, they became our flavor guides, helping us navigate a food and beverage tasting adventure filled with interesting selections, unexpected flavors, and new things to discover.

If you’re looking for a predictable, cookie-cutter food and beverage experience, this probably isn’t the place for you. But if you appreciate a welcoming, down-home atmosphere and enjoy exploring new flavors, interesting foods, craft beverages, and combinations you might not ordinarily try, this is absolutely a place worth experiencing.

Whether you have a connoisseur’s palate or are simply curious and willing to venture outside your normal comfort zone, there is something special about this place.

But the biggest impression -- the reason we'll continue to come back, and more frequently -- is because of Ariana Warner. She made our evening fantastic with her warm charm, professionalism and knowledge, and attention to detail and comfort. It's rare to find such Five-Star/Five-Diamond wait-staff in a family restaurant. Adriana proved that perspective wrong. And my grandson gave her a big smile and goodbye when we left...he too thought she was wonderful. “Had a 10/10 experience for dinner. We didn’t have a reservation, which we can see why it is preferred, but the staff was still able to find us a table since we got there shortly after opening hours. Our server, Kiersten, was super friendly and knowledgeable with the menu and recommendations. I ordered the filet medium and it came out perfect! “THE BEST DFAC ON FT GORDON. I say again, the best DFAC on Ft. Gordon. I’ve been coming to DFAC 13 for a couple months now, and It’s always the first thing I look forward to when starting my day. Omelets, cereal, smoothies, salad bar, desserts, drinks, etc. What more could you ask for? Most if not all the staff is super friendly and helpful, and you really grow close to them after a while. The portion sizes are really good and as hinted at above, there’s plenty of things to help supplement your meal. The omelette line is also a major plus, although sometimes it can take a while. There’s plenty of seating and the lines during lunch are at most 25 minutes.“

“My first time going, and the customer service was amazing. The atmosphere was spot on. I got the French toast with cheese grits. I'm from the south so when you somewhere you expect the cheese grits to be blah... BUT NO.. Their cheese grits had so much flavor they were amazing. “We went on a Monday night and it wasn't crowded at all. It still took a little bit for our food to arrive since they were short staffed but I'm glad the food was hot when we finally received it. Everything was delicious! Someone was always checking in on us which I appreciate. The food was really good. The cheesecake was the best part. It was really rich with a HUGE marshmallow topping. It definitely reminded me of the Cheesecake Factory. Their Christmas decorations were a nice touch as well. I give it 4/5 stars. The only disappointment to knock down a star was that some of the games were broken and most of the balls were missing from the hippo game. That was one of our favorites. Ultimately, I enjoyed my experience and will definitely be coming back for the cheesecake!“
