Homemade Chicken Pie, collard greens, wonderful Mac and cheese and good cornbread. Even the tea was great. I felt like I had stepped back in time and was eating at my Mothers table. The dining rooms were attractive and spotlessly clean. The staff was friendly and efficient. We met the cook who was delightful in addition to being talented. “I remember hearing about the Boll Weevil cafe from classmates when I was a student at Augusta University but didn’t have the chance or time to go. While visiting the Augusta a few days ago with my mother, we decided to have lunch at the cafe. We were quite impressed with the restaurant being located near the waterfront. We both ordered the Salmon Meridian which was a grilled salmon placed on top of fried green tomatoes. We then had the option of a soup or salad with the course. I chose the Tomato apple soup and my mother the corn chowder. The tomato soup was a quite the surprise with the Fuji apples giving a sweet aftertaste along with the savory taste of the tomatoes. My mom’s corn chowder was creamy and as it said on the menu had a little kick to it! As for our main course, the salmon was tender with the fried green tomatoes adding some extra flavor to the dish. We also had excellent service from the staff who were kind enough to let us know what soups/salads were available for lunch. With excellent food, service and a welcoming atmosphere, this restaurant gets a big recommendation from me!“

“Had a 10/10 experience for dinner. We didn’t have a reservation, which we can see why it is preferred, but the staff was still able to find us a table since we got there shortly after opening hours. Our server, Kiersten, was super friendly and knowledgeable with the menu and recommendations. I ordered the filet medium and it came out perfect! Appetizers, oysters, drinks, main course, and dessert were all phenomenal and we will definitely be back to dine again!“

“Went to visit Papa's Kitchen for the first time today! It was a cute little "hole in the wall" restaurant, which is something I absolutely LOVE! They had specials on a board featuring several options including a hot bar and many side choices. I chose the Sweet Heart Shrimp Wrap Special with Mac N Cheese and my Husband chose the Chilli Cheeseburger Special with Mac N Cheese. The food was DELICIOUS!!!! Also got the coffee which was so good as well (good coffee is so hard to find in restaurants!) We got red velvet cake to go which was also fabulous as well! We will for sure be back again!“

“We went on a Monday night and it wasn't crowded at all. It still took a little bit for our food to arrive since they were short staffed but I'm glad the food was hot when we finally received it. Everything was delicious! Someone was always checking in on us which I appreciate. The food was really good. The cheesecake was the best part. It was really rich with a HUGE marshmallow topping. It definitely reminded me of the Cheesecake Factory. Their Christmas decorations were a nice touch as well. I give it 4/5 stars. The only disappointment to knock down a star was that some of the games were broken and most of the balls were missing from the hippo game. That was one of our favorites. Ultimately, I enjoyed my experience and will definitely be coming back for the cheesecake!“

“This is my first time here at this cute little hole in the wall restaurant I was referred here by a good friend of mine who says they have some wonderful baked loated potatoes so we are here getting a steak loaded potato and some french fries and some other food. this food right here is delicious. The lady at the window was very nice as well polite and very courteous she spoke to me calmly and knew the menu very well. She had a big smile on her face the whole time she was taking my order and explaining some stuff to me as I've never been here before. If you're not interested in coming in at least doordash this food to your house it's very good.“
