I can not say enough about our dining experience! We have a Louisiana background and I chose the French Market Grille as my birthday venue although skeptical. Every dish was authentic and mouth watering! Our Non-cajun creole friends were blown away and there wasn’t a drop left anywhere! Customer Service and reservation requests for large group were on point! But our absolute highlight of the night was our waiter Dez (maybe not spelled right) but he definitely attended to our every need! The Landry’s
Steak and lobster tail special was delicious. Like the FMG of old. The peanut butter pie was the best we've ever had. No exceptions. The oysters Rockefeller, wish we had left off. Not sure if the strong fish taste overpowered the add ons, or the add ons lacked flavor. Those used to be the highlight of a meal at FMG. Not last night. Service was really good.
This was our first time dining at French Market Grille for our Saturday date night, and we had absolutely no regrets! From the moment we walked in, we were warmly greeted and immediately felt welcomed. The restaurant itself has such a beautiful, inviting atmosphere that set the perfect tone for the evening.
Our server, Sonja, was outstanding—attentive, kind, and made sure everything flowed perfectly. We started with a spread of appetizers: the marinated shrimp, Cajun wings, crawfish popcorn, and a half dozen steamed oysters. Every bite was packed with flavor and gave us high expectations for the entrées to come—and they did not disappoint!
For our main dishes, we ordered the West Bank Duo (Combination Plate) and the Crepes Louisiana. Both were absolutely delicious, but that Crepes Louisiana with the sauce was a standout—so rich and flavorful!
What really elevated the experience was when the owner, Shadrick, personally came over to greet us. He noticed we were new faces and made us feel like old friends. He even shared a bit about his other spot, Rae’s Coastal Cafe, which we are already planning to visit soon.
And just when we thought the night couldn’t get any better, we decided to try the Peanut Butter Pie for dessert. My husband usually doesn’t care for peanut butter, and I’m not much of a dessert person—but we both LOVED it. It was the perfect sweet ending to such an incredible meal.
From start to finish, everything about this visit was top-notch—the service, the food, the atmosphere, and the personal touch from the owner. My husband and I will definitely be back soon. If you’re looking for authentic Louisiana-style food with amazing hospitality, French Market Grille is a must-try!

Excellent food. I am very appreciative of getting tasty food the way I ordered it. My wife and I both had fish. Think mine was blackened grouper and Wife had trout. Both were hot and moist, tender and delicious. Vegtables were fresh, not overcooked and not salty. Delicious, just as ordered. Waiter was attentive without hovering. The resturant is 90 miles away, but I am looking forward to my next visit. Meal plus tip was $115. Dude had wine, i was designated driver. We had appetizer.

Love the food and service here. Consistency is key, and they've unlocked the door to creole cuisine in augusta

Food was delicious. Desmond was on top of things with our drinks and food. Desmond was extremely hospitable. They keep their beer glasses frozen and it made the taste even better. 10/10 highly recommend

French Market Grill has a wonderful selection of foods. They specialize in Cajun and Creole styles. I adore their seafood quiche! It's full of crabmeat and also has shrimp in it. It's a large size slice. Their salad is well made, and they make their own dressings. Also, try their fried green tomatoes. The batter is light and crispy.

I ate here with my MIL and aunts for Sunday lunch. The service was wonderful. The waiter even helped my MIL and aunt get their kabobs off the sticks carefully, so sweet. The food was excellent! The peanut butter pie was delicious. The music wasn't too loud. For a Sunday lunch they weren't crowded and we got right in. I do feel like the bathrooms could have used a deep clean. Like here's a nice restaurant with clean for the go, but neglected walls and sinks gave the impression that the bathroom didn't match the level of restaurant that it should. This restaurant has been here a very long time, that speaks to me. The food is still consistently good. I would 100% eat here again! Plus if you want to walk off the meal, there's nice shopping right there at you. 😉

The food is fabulous and the service is outstanding. I have never, ever had a bad meal. It is consistently excellent. For an added treat, do yourself a favor and have peanut butter pie for dessert. Perfection!
food was excellent, but we had a 6:30pm for two, two large parties and another 2-top was seated all before us, we weren't seated until i prompted the hostess at 7pm, and we were the last ones in the waiting area. no point of making a reservation if we had to wait on everyone else ahead of us. food was excellent and would come again.
We dined at French Market Grill during Master's week and had a relaxed, unpretentious experience. We were seated promptly and greeted by our friendly waitress, who answered our questions about the menu and accommodated our special requests. From the oyster po' boy to the steamed shrimp to the seafood au gratin, each entree was delicious. We topped dinner off with bread pudding and lemon pie. The check reflected what we already knew - it is possible to eat in Augusta during Master's week without breaking the budget.
Love this place. It's a local secret. Food is always good and the reservation was ready on time. Even in the middle of masters week.
Clay, our waiter, saw to all our needs and provided us with an exceptional experience. The food was great! Had a hard time keeping my wife out of my seafood stuffed trout. Love the New Orleans atmosphere. Try to come here once a week.
