Just moved to the area. Glad I found this place. Food and selection was excellent.

This is a good place to visit it's a little bit on the expensive side if you go at night it's just about $20 per person but it is buffet they have a ride wide range of food from barbecue ribs to hibachi

The worst food I ever had in my life and gave my daughter food poisoning I understand that buffet is not supposed to be a five star restaurant but you at least expect the food to be edible then when we complain the waitress laughed snd stated “the employees don’t even eat here “

They don't change out the food often. Food is always old and dried out. If you don't want food poisoning I would think twice about eating here

Not a fan the food was not to my liking the fried chicken was not seasoned it was very much bland the white rice must have been sitting there because it tasted stail however the service was great & their was plenty of seats & the place itself was clean the food tho I most definitely wont come back 3.5 outta 10 go check this place out for yourself

Pre-Covid, it used to be a steady 4/5 rating at a good price. But the price has increased and food has not stayed at the same quality levels. It is now basically a pricey Express Line Buffet. So our 3/5 rating is a bit of a stretch. Many food Items are mislabeled on the buffet line Seeing increase delays refilling certain buffet line items. We noted the food seems to be fresher, hotter and done better (M-F) AFTER 12::30pm until about 1:30pm. M-F evening food time seems to be better after 4:30pm until 6pm Also note the last GA. Health State Food Service Inspection score for GREAT CHOW BUFFET & GRILL in Augusta, GA was 86 and was it done on: 05-05-2025.

Their food was so so the woman waiting tables did not check on or help any of her tables and when she brought my check before I even got desert after just 2 food plates she took my credit card, came back and stood there until I signed it but when I put NO TIP she pointed that out and told me to leave tip. I said no tip and she grabbed the ticket and pen out of my hand and muttered under her breath in her language €#%%£ I can only imagine. She didn’t fill my glass and no contact until she brought my check so why should I tip. I won’t be back and the company I represent will never eat here.
My daughter and I decided to eat here for dinner walk in wait to be seated…about 2 mins of waiting a chunky white woman proceeds to seat us in a crowded area in a booth…after about a min she comes back and says y’all need to get up y’all didn’t pay so we go back up to the front still not being directed and wait…as we are waiting no one is still not assisting us so 2 men come in behind us and the girl behind the window asks them how many people and proceeds to checking them out and they are seated so at this point I said to her now wait a min we were here been here for a while why have we not been seated and waited on yet…then a girl says I told you to come to the front and pay and I said no you didn’t neither one of you have we’ve been standing here and no one said nothing…at this point I have gotten annoyed so I ask to speak to the manager she’s sitting behind the desk at the window acting as if she didn’t care with a mask on saying she said she told you to go to the front…then proceeds to say it’s not my problem….i then said isn’t that your worker you hired her that is your problem I told her the customer service was poor and I wanted her name as a manager …she tried to go back and look at her camera to see if the girl said something and then tried to justify and say she said something with no audio…at this point I had no longer wanted to eat here I told the manager I was dis satisfied with the service and the way we had been treated and I wanted her name as a manager she didn’t give me her name kept on trying to apologize and gave me the worker name Dede…yall please don’t waste your time going here this was so wrong and ridiculous and I will not patronize this establishment ever again
2 hour time limit, does not matter if you just sitting there talking or waiting on a cab…the manager will ask you to leave. Which is what happened to us on our last visit while we were waiting on a cab…please note, the restaurant was almost empty and there was no need to ask us to leave to open up a table…just rude! Food has been a hit or miss after pandemic, this place is going downhill fast! Every visit has been one unpleasantry after another. The last was the final straw for us.
Lying Hostess and management. Hostess told me two hour eating window, or they will charge extra. Nobody else was told this.They accused me being with being in a group the day before. I tried to tell them that wasn't me. I left when the owner told me to leave. Piss poor Hostess and Owner. Watch out they have a very small sign to charge you extra.
