0/5 stars. TLDR: CUSTOMER PHYSICAL ASSAULTED BY A VERY INTOXICATED MANAGER We arrived at Knuckle Sandwiches around 7:25pm (Jun 6, 2025). We walked in to place our order and immediately noticed that the manager on duty (split-dyed, bright, colored hair) who was operating the register was incredibly intoxicated. She couldn’t even take our orders appropriately or stand straight. While we were trying to order I noticed that she was struggling to continue to consider her beverage, which happened to be some kind of canned cocktail. I know this because the can read “+ vodka” on the side that was facing us. After ordering, we went to Westobu to await our orders being prepared, since it was First Friday. When we made our way back to the restaurant, the manager didn’t remember taking our orders about 10 minutes prior to our second entrance. Of note: I have bright pink hair…too many people remember me. But this manager was so intoxicated that they couldn’t recall customers, especially one with bright pink hair, that they saw 10 minutes prior? Additionally, this manager was failing to speak or stand up straight and couldn’t locate our order that was very clearly placed on the cooler. My partner reached out to help, where they were met with aggressive slaps (multiple), screaming, and cussing. My partner walked out because of this experience (rightfully so). I stayed to try to get our food since we already paid. The manager wouldn’t stop screaming and cussing, I took the food and left. On my way out I heard them slamming fists on countertops while the yelling continued. When we sat down to eat elsewhere, we noticed that we only received half of our order. So, I made the trek back to try to retrieve my food. Thankfully, someone else was at the counter and their service was fantastic and they took the time to listen to our previous experience (though this review isn’t about them). I once again returned to my partner to try to eat, but when I opened my box, my order was completely wrong (not surprising since the lady couldn’t stand straight). Now, I’ve made a THIRD trip to this establishment for one single order. At this point I requested a refund because I’m exhausted. Unfortunately, the incredibly intoxicated manager was back inside. I requested a refund from the other team member. The manager came to the front and verbally threatened to fight me for asking for a refund. When the other team member showed them that the order was incorrect, they conceded and gave me a refund. After this, I was met with yet another threat to leave. I found that owner’s card on a table and grabbed one. Gave them a call, which went to voicemail. However, when I started telling people about this situation, I quickly found out that this is FAR from a single incident and the owner willfully ignores the problem. Additionally, since a PHYSICAL ASSAULT was involved, I reported it to the Richmond County Dispatch. Granted, I have very little faith that RC Police did anything. Therefore, I turned to social media and leaving this review. Either the owner needs to get it together and actually care about their establishment, or the place needs to shut down before more patrons get physically assaulted and hurt. This is absolutely unacceptable.
Hidden gem alert! Knuckle Sandwiches is hands-down serving up the best sandwiches in Augusta. It’s a small spot, but what it lacks in size, it more than makes up for in flavor. Every sandwich I've tried has been packed with fresh ingredients, bold combinations, and serious creativity. Service is fast, the vibe is laid-back, and you can tell they care about what they’re doing. If you’re tired of the same old deli routine, this place will blow your mind. A must-try!
I ordered a grilled cheese and it was comprised of some shredded cheese on a hoagie bun. Not what I was expecting for $13.
very great and tasty food. great vibe and atmosphere! definitely recommend and definitely will be back soon!
We saw online that they were open a day after the storm ( hurricane Helene ) we waited over 2 hours in line and another 30 or more minutes for our food. It was worth it! Very good burgers and fries. Their sauce on the side was awesome too. I’ll definitely be back. Thanks for opening and serving the community during this difficult time. The employees were kind and patient and smiling.
2024-09: I've been back to Knuckle Sandwiches a few times over the years, and have always had a great experience and great food. The most recent was no exception, with the young lady working the counter and being completely awesome, and our food being extremely tasty.
2022-11: Knuckle Sandwiches is an unassuming sandwich shop that often has a line running out the door. Everything I've ever eaten here has been tasty and quickly devoured. Service has always been great and pricing very fair for what you get. Highly recommend.

It's a one of a kind treasure in downtown Augusta. The original sandwiches, made to order AFTER you order them, are amazing. I had the namesake "Knuckle Sandwich" and it was a wonderful smash of flavor to my mouth. Do yourself a favor and give them a try.

This is now my favorite food spot in the CSRA. I had the Thai Chili wings and the Philly. Both were amazing. Especially the wings. I’m from The A so I know. The fries are the best I have ever had, it is like Checkers fries on 10! The person at the counter said that “they are like Checker’s fries but your Grandma made them”, which I believe explained them perfectly. The Thai chili ranch compliments every aspect of their food. They pair perfectly with everything they offer… I dipped the wings, cheese steak, and fries in the ranch and it was all phenomenal. They have been there for 14 years and I am upset with myself for just now finding this spot. 10/10

The food is great, the service is fast and friendly. Don't let the small size fool you, there's obviously some serious talent at work here. Gotta recommend the devil dog.

This might be my new favorite spot for philly cheese steaks.. Went today for the first time and it fit the meaning of "best food comes from little hole in the wall restaurants" ?.. I had the uppercut philly cheese steak and it was delicious and huge... the place is very small so I would recommend getting the food to go and eating in your car but the cashier was very friendly, greeted me with a smile and the food was delicious..

Honestly, probably the best thing I have eaten in like a year. That sandwich was so good and flavorful. I would literally give this place 10 stars out of five , it was that delicious.

I wanna say Mitch but I’m not sure I’m spelling her name right was amazing. For one the food is always amazing. This place does not put out anything that’s less that their highest standard. But to top all of that off Mitch is an amazing person to order form. She is patient and very good at her job. Who ever is in the kitchen knows what they’re doing ofc, but the service puts it over the top. I would eat here every week if I could.
