Self checkout is terrible
Great place to get car damage from shopping carts.
On Sept. 1st, 2022 I went to the Kroger on Washington Road in Evans, GA. I did not use the self check out. I was using a United Healthcare 2022 OTC + Healthy Food Benefit card to pay for my purchases. I bought only food. After the cashier scanned my card I was told the was a $17 balance that the card wouldn’t pay for. I’m a 69 year old Social Security recipient that receives $877 per month. I didn’t have the the cash to pay the balance. I informed the cashier I didn’t have the money so I wouldn’t be able to complete the transaction. I had no idea why there was a balance that needed to be paid in cash. The transaction was still open on the screen so I asked that the entire transaction be suspended and I would leave my ENTIRE purchase. The cashier walked over to the service desk, then to an employee in the self check out area to speak to them. As there was a line behind me, I walked to the service desk, told them my situation and that I would have to leave everything there. I then told the cashier and the other employee I was leaving my ENTIRE purchase as I dint have any cash. I didn’t have a receipt as the transaction was NOT completed. I immediately went to my car, called customer service for United Health Care and explained the situation. The next day I saw that my card had been charged $85 by Kroger. I contacted United Health Care to rectify the situation and they contacted Kroger. Kroger sent United Health Care a copy of a receipt where I was charged $85 and the $17 balance was entered as CASH to close the transaction. My was denied my $85 credit. I can only assume that Kroger closed the transaction, took the $17 cash loss to keep my $85. I’m on a fixed income and without the $85 on the Benefit card I have spent the last 27 days borrowing from my daughter, and living on peanut butter, bananas, bread and milk. And I’ve been doing this because Kroger apparently needed MY $85 worse than I did.
I do like Krogers on Washington Road in Augusta. I do not like their new delivery service. I paid $59 for a year. Kroger's is now using instacart instead of their own people. I was supposed to get my groceries between 7 a.m. and 9 a.m.. now I am being told I won't get my groceries till 4:15 p.m.. I'm still waiting to find out if I do even get it. we're talking about $80 worth of groceries. I did find out that instacart is short on employees. Think twice before signing up for Boost delivery program. I'm sorry that I did.
the lady at self check out was rude and doesn’t need to work with the public. She could not do her job this morning and stood there while i struggled to use the self check out. I’m new in the area and we did not have a Kroger. Their kroger brand spring water is twice as high as Food Lions spring water I have never had an employer tell me if i didn’t like the self checkout i should go stand in the long line n get them to do it this is exactly what she said to me when i called to report it the manager is just as offensive and is not at all manager quality You need to train your employees

They closed the store down “forever” just recently
Every other Kroger is fabulous, but the one on wrightsboro road in Augusta is the worse shopping experience ever.
