This place is awesome! This history needs to be preserved and Mr Excho plus Red the Sword Swallower are doing a great job! I got a private tour which was educational, entertaining, unusual and fun! What more could you ask for> To me its the main attraction in Augusta and I went way out of my way to get there.

This place is amazing! Full of history, bad puns, and some of the coolest stories that are quickly being forgotten by time.

If you're a fan of sideshows, history, quirky exhibits, oddities, and museums, this is a MUST. I wish I could be more detailed, but you'll have to see for yourself!

I admit I was reluctant to come here. But my husband was so enthused I said ok.

To say I enjoyed this experience more than I could imagine. Peter and Red were outstanding and for you get so for the cost of admission.

In ATL the cost would be closer to 50 bucks a person.

Go, learn, explore. You won't be disappointed. 2 hours flew by.

Call first.

An engaging host, lost Americana, and funny stories! Wife and I had a great time here talking 1:1 with the host and getting some chuckles in too.

You get so much more value than you're actually paying for. Stories come in kid friendly and adult friendly varieties.

The last dying Musemum of its kind. Honestly, before stepping into this place I thought there wasn't much culture to Augusta, I do love being proven wrong. Pexcho is a collector of oddities and carnies that would take more than the 2+ hour tour to see and get though. A riveting storyteller to boot as well. The pictures below are just a HINT of what lies in this man's palace of oddities. Did I mention that the tour also comes with its very own sword swallower?

Please I implore you before you make your final judgment of Augusta, call ahead and make a tour of Pexcho's Dime Musemum. You won't be disappointed in being nickled and dimed by a master of the craft.

Me and my boyfriend went and we were amazed. Not only is it affordable but it is also a great 2 hr experience. We want to go back with our friends so they can also experience a dime museum. The guide will tell you about the amazing history of dime museums, make you laugh, and make you awe in wonder. I can now say after going here that we were able to see the oldest and the youngest sword swallowers in history!

My friend and I thoroughly enjoyed our time at the American Dime Museum. This was easily our favorite experience of our weekend visit to Augusta. Pete and his family are all very entertaining. Pete is a great story-teller and an effortless deliverer of "is it fact or is it fiction" tidbits. I recommend you visit if you live in or visit Augusta, GA.

My husband and I happened to stumble into this place while they were open, unaware of what it was. We were surprised at what a fantastic experience it was! Boasting to be one of the last dime museums in America, it's full of character through its many oddity exhibits, including a two-headed T-Rex! I was surprised at how informative it was as well! Many people have heard about Barnum and "Ripley's Believe it or Not", without knowing much more about the history of museums in the USA. The guide, Peter, was able to charismatically teach us a ton about the history of museums and side attractions through a variety of vignettes. The museum itself is full of personality, featuring many hidden doors and unexpected sights. Some of the comments and exhibits were hilarious! I won't give away any surprises, so you will just have to come to see. In the end, we were able to see a live sword-swallowing performance!
Overall, the museum has a lot of heart and is worth seeing. Its family-owned roots and passion from the team are very apparent. I'm really glad I was able to see this, and I definitely recommend scheduling a tour to anyone reading this!

Right out of Guillermo Del Toro’s ouvre, is the Dime store museum of Pexcho’s. Cash only guarantees flights of fancy. If facts are what you’re after, that duty falls to whatever research you do and not to the Mustachioed Pierced Proprietor. The shadowy history of something wicked this way comes carnivals and side shows is what Pexcho’s delivers. The 2 dimensional, top hatted barker painted on metal canvas, seemed to usher us into this colorful attraction. If we were fleeced, as is the tradition of dime store museums, it was with our consent. This was a taste of Netflix’s Nightmare Alley. Suspension of belief is a prerequisite to being entertained here. We were down with it and thought both time and money well spent. Freaks and Geeks, it’s all here.

Probably the most amazing place I have ever been. Well worth the nearly 800 mile drive.

2+ hours of entertainment that I can promise you won't find anywhere else!

A truly unique (look up the word) place . So much cool stuff, with a personal tour from the man who curated it. No matter your age or education level, you will leave knowing a dozen things you didn't know. And to top it off after the tour we were treated to a performance by Blockhead and Sword Swallower Red Stuart. A man who's lived a fascinating life (buy his book there, it's a great read).

If you find yourself anywhere near Augusta, Ga this is a MUST SEE!
