My family and I absolutely LOVE the dime museum. We had just arrived in Augusta and stumbled in with another group. We were NOT expecting something THIS amazing. The best part isn't all the cool things you're seeing, it's the showmanship of Peter Pexcho. The family in general is really cool. At one point in Red's show, I turn back and saw Billy riding a unicycle, just because he can. Speaking of Billy, he is training to be the youngest sword swallower ever! How cool is that? I could go on forever about how cool everything about this place is.My sister voted everyday to make sure they won the title of Best Museum in Georgia. It truly is the BEST! Couldn't recommend it enough!

By appointment only, call ahead. Best guided tour we have attended. We travel full time and love guided tours. We called ahead, made reservations for Sunday at noon. Apon arrival we were greeted and the adventures began. Our tour guide wisked us away to the past. To the begging of the Dime museum, we were so captivated by the story we lost track of time, we didn't take a single picture. Best tour and tour guide yet.

What a lovely experience. My husband and I were walking down town and stumbled in on this delightful little place. We happened to have time to kill and happened to arrive just in time to slip in and join the show. I honestly expected the experience to be short and sweet, given the seemingly small space, but it was surprisingly jam packed with lots to see and talk about. I feel like we only got to look at a fraction of the displays and hear only a part of the stories. It was a great show and Peter has a great way with stories.

Pexcho’s was truly a magical experience from the second you walk through the door. Paul, the owner and guide, is a fantastic historian and storyteller lead us on a two hour tour that ended with Red the world renowned sword swallower doing what he does best. If you’re looking for an amazing experience look no further and go support one of the last dine museums in America.

easily the COOLEST place I have been in my entire life!!! it’s hard to even put into words how amazing this place was.the tour took about 2 to 2.5 hours but I could’ve spent at least 5 or 6 hours there looking at and learning about everything. there’s antiques and oddities everywhere, it’s incredible. everyone was super friendly and knowledgeable.I’ve only been in augusta about a year but I’m disappointed I waited that long to check this place out. If you’re from augusta and have never been you need to check it out asap and if you’re just visiting you need to put it at the top of your list of places to go.100000/10 experience and I’m so SO excited to visit again!!!

In a word.....Incredible! In this day and age of instant gratification, it was so refreshing to slow down, step back in time, and be entertained by true masters of the art..not once but twice. Mr. Pexcho and "Red" put on a show both informative and interesting. You learn everything, and I do mean everything about the obscure institution that is the American Dime Museum and Circus Sideshow. Please look him up on Facebook, and if you're in the area book a tour....you WON'T regret it.

It was a unique experience. Peter was very informative. Our tour took approximately 2-1:2 hours. It was worth every minute.

I took my family there not knowing exactly what it was going to be like. The cost was just under $18 a person and the tour was over 2 hours long. Peter the owner was amazingly friendly and thorough. He treated my 10 year old daughter like she was his. At the end of the museum tour there was a blockhead sword swallower (pun intended) that performed. The oldest living sword swallower jn the country from my understanding.Go there and support this wacky small business. Oh and he sells great coffee and espresso that crushes Starbucks and most definitely much cheaper.Call or email to reserve a spot on the tour.

Honestly, this was unexpectedly one of the best things I've done in 2023. My sister took me here when I was visiting from Charlotte, NC, and I love oddities, but I was absolutely blown away by the history lesson I got during my visit. The owner is amazingly knowledgeable about the history of Dime Museums, and was absolutely hilarious in giving us our tour. You may ask yourself, why would I ever want to know about the history of Dime Museums? The bigger question is, WHY DON'T YOU KNOW THE HISTORY OF DIME MUSEUMS!!! I am not going to spoil anything about the tour, because this is something you absolutely need to do yourself, and as far as history goes, if you have ever been to any Museum anywhere, you have Dime Museums to thank for Museums existing in general. Red the Sword Swallower is also an absolute killer part of the show and has some truly amazing stories and knowledge that we were lucky enough to get him to share with us.

I had family visit from Germany and since there isn't much going on in Augusta I googled for things we could do and came across this absolute gem. My husband called to make a reservation and two days later we went on our private tour. The stories were fascinating and everyone, including our 8 year old, learned so much. Red's show at the end was great. We will definitely be back. You won't see anything like this in Germany.
