After waiting half an hour, we were seated in the basement section near the bar and server station. That portion of the restaurant was nearly empty - only 3 other seated tables. We sat a good 10 minutes before a server approached our table (only after checking with someone else as to “is this one mine?). For the rest of our time there we watched as waitstaff moved at a glacial pace and waisted time away in the corner. As someone who has worked as a server, I have both high standards and a lot of grace for those who work in food service. What I saw here was very unimpressive.

Ate here 2x this week. Both on patio, once on walkway at bistro table (enjoyed more there). 1st Lunch was not as expected. Slow service , not much attention to us. Busy Thursday. Food was good. Had a special (Mahi Mahi). Took a bit to check out for some reason . Saturday late lunch, early dinner 4pm. Very good. Sat at small bistro table off deck. Nice spot. Quick service. Ryan was attentive and helpful. We knew what we wanted . Enjoyed the Bang Salmon. Flavorful and very good portion. Trout was cooked and seasoned well. Nice sides of sweet mash and a thin green bean. Very good meal.

Parking: Oct and Nov very busy . Just Pay the small fee to park and enjoy the day.

Burgers were good. Tomatoes had stems we had to cut out.

Server must have been having a bad day. We had to ask for mustard and ketchup.

One and done!

Arrived at 4:30 pm with no reservation. Were told their next reservation was at 6 so we’d have to sit outside. Dining room 3/4 empty. Were told they like to allow 90 minutes for dining experience. 4:30-6: do the math. We were done in 60 minutes. When asked how our food was we said “fair”. Server who’d taken good care of us said “oh, good”.? Inside of building (seen enroute to/from restroom) was beautiful.

The hamburger was good, BUT the service was horrible. Server threw things on the table, rude and there had to be better places to eat in B

Very expensive for supar food.

After being turned away the first night for not having a reservation, despite multiple open tables and over an hour until closing, we made a reservation for the following night. My husband ordered the pork chop which was insanely overcooked. It was hard to cut and painful to watch him eat, but he was hungry so ate it anyway. The carrots it came with looked like a bag of boiled carrots on the plate, the meal did not look very appealing. I ordered the shrimp and grits, which was ok, but nothing to write home about. My daughter had the kids mac n cheese which was the best thing we ordered. It was baked, nothing boxed or basic. We also ordered the garlic bread, which was 3 slices of the free bread they give you at the table with no real seasoning. I definitely wouldn't recommend this spot and will look up other spots my next time in town.

Nice place with good food and even better service. The salmon and trout spread was great. Wi come back.

Parking: Busy Sunday afternoon. Parking wasnt horrible, but wasn't exactly easy. Figured it out, found a spot to park for free about 3 blocks from restaurant.

Really great place to eat in Blue Ridge. Don’t skip this place. Pork chop plate was awesome. Try the apple/onion soup. It’s very unique and delicious. Staff were super friendly and very helpful.

Last year my girlfriend and I took the Blue Ridge Scenic Railway and stopped here afterwards for dinner and loved it. So, this year after doing the same thing we decided to stop in again. The restaurant was obviously very busy and many of the reservations were booked. However, we were able to be seated at the chefs counter and did not have a wait. Our server and the other staff members were nothing but kind and incredibly friendly. After being seated and ordering our appetizers, the chef who was working began a conversation with us and some of the other fellow diners at the counter. My girlfriend and I don't mind as we enjoy talking to people. However, this conversation would very quickly turn unpleasant. The chef tried to bait us into engaging into political discourse over our meal and called us, "a lazy generation". He would also be seeming nice to us then turn to the couple to our left and bad mouth us. Just spit in my food and slap me across the face instead of being so two-faced. I do not go out to dinner to be berated and looped into politics, especially during election season. This by far the most unprofessional and unpleasant dining experiences I have had in a very long time. If you cannot be professional with your guests who you are interacting with please seek a different line of work. This establishment needs to do better with who they choose to hire and who will be interacting with customers. Keep your nasty opinions to yourself next time. There are many fantastic dining options in Blue Ridge and the surrounding areas who will offer a far better experience than childish banter. Next time I am in Blue Ridge I will be highly considering another dining option. I hope to see this establishment improve in the next year.

We made reservations for the inside main dining room a few days prior. (For a monday) We showed up a few hours early to check in since we were already in town. We were told they were very busy so we came back right at our reservation time (7:15) We waited another 15 minutes to be seated in which we were seated downstairs directly next to the very busy downstairs bar/kitchen door. Normally we don't leave before being served, but we weren't seated where we had requested and since this was supposed to be an anniversary dinner we decided to leave due to the uncomfortable atmosphere. If you want to be seated in the main dining area, you may need to call and specify, otherwise you may be seated downstairs. I have rated their food as 5 stars, because we did not eat here so I did not want to affect their rating in that way.

We waited 30 or 40 minutes for our food, which would have been fine if the place was packed. But there were plenty of empty tables around us. The food was very bad for the price. The pork was extremely bad, raw, and tasteless, and the duck was also really disappointing. You could get a similar meal at any other restaurant for half the price because there was no difference in flavor. We were with friends, and we all left with our plates almost full; I don’t know how they didn’t ask us if the food was alright. The waitstaff was lovely and friendly. My issue isn’t with them but with how bad the food was and how long it took. It was also so expensive and not worth the price. I deeply regretted it; the worst thing in the world is to pay a lot for bad food
