We ate lunch at Southern Charm after arriving in town on vacation. The front desk person at our hotel recommended it to us and it was within walking distance. Service - excellent. (Even though they were very short staffed they managed to smile and we never felt rushed) Food - A+. Atmosphere - unique.
Had a late lunch on a Tuesday afternoon. A nice, spacious restaurant in the style of a southern mansion. About a 20 minute wait to be seated. (Many restaurants in Blue Ridge are apparently closed during the first part of the week.) Service was friendly and attentive. Food was a little slow coming out but was quite good. We had the fried catfish with okra and slaw and the southern fried chicken with okra and collard greens. It was all good. My spouse really liked the slaw. The biscuits and apple butter were a great start. We would go back.
We came here for the southern cooking and the dinner was delicious for all four in our party. It was quite a wait but everyone coming out told us it was definitely worth it. It was! The service was friendly and attentive, and we liked it so much we came back the next day for lunch as well. Highly recommend this charming place!
A beautiful building but bad food. Plate presentation is lacking to say the least. Thin slice of dry meat loaf on a big bun with an sold tomato and lettuce. My husband had the chicken breast with gravy. It was just alright. The collard greens where canned and the potato casserole was plopped on the plate with an ice cream scoop and was more like a ball of Luke warm mashed. Lunch was over $30 for two, drinking water, and we left hungry .we will not return.
Ate here on a pleasant Saturday lunch with my family due to several recommendations while visiting Blue Ridge. The food is the draw, and everyone seemed to enjoy their meals. But - the wait was excessive. Was told 30 minutes, it was nearly an hour, and when we walked in most of the tables were empty. Why? The outside building is charming, but there is zero charm inside. All sterile like a cafeteria as opposed to a homey vibe. The service was competent but not warm or personal. We felt like a customer here to pay a check, not to enjoy a meal. As a result I might order takeout from the restaurant again but won’t eat in.
We ordered takeout from here during our visit and everything was delicious. I had the pot pie and it was so good! The dessert was awfully small for the price but it was delicious!
We ate there on our first trip in Feb and again in May because the food was so good! I highly recommend the fried chicken, pot pie and meat loaf.
If Southern cooking as hospitality is your thing this is the place. Prices are fair and portions generous. The service is great Hometown friendly.
Friendly staff in a clean restaurant. Very good casual food- plenty of choices on the menu. We had salads and they were fresh and great. Ranch dressing was great.
Awesome surprise. Great food, not all fried, and very reasonable for downtown area! Nice that they stay open Monday thru Friday, many places closed on Tuesday and Wednesday.

The dining offerings on Main Street in Blue Ridge seem to be primarily high priced gourmet fare or bar/pub establishments. We were pleasantly surprised to find this restaurant one street over from the main tourist corridor. The menu was typical southern cuisine with plenty of deep fried delicacies. However, there was also plenty of non-fried choices on the menu too. Dezeray did a great job serving our large party. The prices were very reasonable.
I was born and raised in Georgia. So,, I know fried chicken. The chicken was a little tough, and underseasoned. The vegetables were pretty good (pintos and greens), and the mozzarella bites were good. The fried green tomatoes were just okay. Thr biscuits and apple butter were very good.. I was hoping for better results, but everyone was nice.
We had a group of 7. The food was good but it was just ok. There are many other choices in the area and I would not recommend this one to friends. I had chicken pot pie and it was just ok. It was notated as one of their specialties. I also got fried okra and it was not that great either, very heavily breaded. The chicken fingers were so big and had fat in them. Good idea for a meat and veggie restaurant, but I think just a few improvements in the food could be made to make this a great place to go!
Y'all we ate her on April 1 and it was a great choice! The atmosphere was great. The tables are spaced out. The service was awesome! Very friendly staff. The food was soooo good. The mozzarella bites are a must try! You can tell they are homemade. I had the country fried steak and my husband had the meatloaf. It was all very good. I will definitely eat here again when in the area. Thanks Southern Charm for a great southern meal!
We came here with our 5 year old to try and find something off the busy Main Street. The service was great and food was delicious. The fried green tomatoes were huge! My husband ordered the meatloaf sandwich and it was giant! Nice late lunch to rest for a bit before heading back out for a busy afternoon.
