“I've been here twice and had an excellent meal both times. The whole tilapia is beautifully presented, delicious and exceptionally fresh. Veggie fajitas and sides were also excellent. Kind of a hole in the wall type vibe, nothing fancy, but truly a gem.“

“All Southerners know that many gas stations are home to some of the best kept culinary secrets, and this is no exception. Although, technically a convenient store, the restaurant that operates here is superb. Hispanic dining options are plentiful in Clarke County, but this is easily one of the top three options for anyone visiting the area. The street tacos have reset my expectations for the dish, and the tortas are unrivaled. Do not sleep on this place.“

“I love hole in the wall spots like this. I've never been disappointed by gas station mexican food, and this time was no exception. The staff was polite, everything was clean, the menu was simple, and the food was great.
I was looking for a place to eat before going to the park. Lots of things were closed so I stopped here. Great place for excellent breakfast mexican food.“

“Costa Alegre Seafood and Grill was such a nice surprise the first time we went! Martha was so nice and took the time to tell us all about the restaurant and the vision of doing something different from just a Mexican restaurant! We love to try new things so we had seafood on her recommendation and it was wonderful! On our 2nd visit we tried the oysters and they were absolutely delicious! The margaritas are some of the best we have ever had…they make their own mix in-house and you can really tell the difference! So glad they decided to come to Watkinsville!!! This has quickly become one of our favorites! Highly recommend this restaurant….give it a try!!!“

“Apparently the restaraunt is inside the SHORT STOP EXPRESS Convenience Store. I decided to try this restaraunt because of the reviews and mannnnn am I glad I found this store - this was the most best Mexican food I have had in Barrow County. I had the steak tacos and they were delicious - I will be coming back!!
Parking: There is parking spots in front of the store and the right side of the store so there is plenty of parking from what I saw.
Kid-friendliness: Restaraunt was very kid friendly - the attendants inside the convenience store were very friendly and all of the people at the restaurant were super nice.“

“My fiancé and I have been coming in for the last 4 years and have received excellent service everytime! Today we came in after moving and not having visited for a couple months. One of our regular gentlemen recognized us and made sure to say hi and let us know he noticed our absence. “This is one of the best, if not the best, Mexican restaurants I have ever been to, and I have been to dozens. Food is always packed with flavor, empanadas are crispy and flaky, and the barbacoa is amazing. The salsa, guacamole, and additional salsas they give you are perfection. Would eat here every day if I had the money.“

“I am a South Georgia girl who has been waiting for the Athens, GA location to open. Let me just say that the workers at the Athens location were AMAZING!! I was so excited to eat Surcheros again, but now I can’t wait for a chance to dine in with them! I am almost positive I was greeted by every person working and they all were so cheery and had smiles on their faces. This is definitely an environment I want to eat in and people I want to talk to! Already planning my next stop in and maybe I’ll get all of my northern friends to tag along so that I can show them how us South Georgia folk do it!😋“

“We love this location and the people who work there!! I work a 4 week on / 4 week off schedule so I’m only home half the year; and we go here 2-4 times every time I’m home.. food is always fresh and amazing… Management is in a class of their own and shows with their employees and amazing customer service!! A+++ 5 star!!“

“The Chipotle sauce was more spicy than others, beware. I like a little kick in my food, I almost threw it away. It was way too spicy for me.
