“First and foremost, I observed a customer being extremely ill-mannered and rude to the cashier. Some customers think they are right, even in situations where they are blatantly wrong. The cashier handled the situation so professionally that it led me to do a review on the establishment. This restaurant is absolutely amazing. 10/10! Very friendly staff. She remembers our order every time we come. You can tell the food is cooked with love! Also, the food comes out in a timely manner, which can be really convenient.“

“I've been here twice and had an excellent meal both times. The whole tilapia is beautifully presented, delicious and exceptionally fresh. Veggie fajitas and sides were also excellent. Kind of a hole in the wall type vibe, nothing fancy, but truly a gem.“

“All Southerners know that many gas stations are home to some of the best kept culinary secrets, and this is no exception. Although, technically a convenient store, the restaurant that operates here is superb. Hispanic dining options are plentiful in Clarke County, but this is easily one of the top three options for anyone visiting the area. The street tacos have reset my expectations for the dish, and the tortas are unrivaled. Do not sleep on this place.“

The servers have always been great and given attentive and great service ! “We booked La Pa on wheels for our wedding and man they DID NOT disappoint. Taqueria La Parilla is mine and my husbands favorite Mexican place in Athens and it meant the world to us to have them cater our wedding. 10/10. Best service. Best food. Carlos was awesome and so communicative the whole year before our wedding!“

“This little hole in the wall is absolutely amazing. They gave great portions for a decent price. The owners are very respectful & always have a smile. I’ve been here a couple of times & it’s now my “go to” for lunch because the burritos are simply delicious! It’s all the way in the back of the store in case you get lost.“

“Visiting Athens and needed good food after checking into our hotel up the street, so glad we chose this place! Everything was so delicious and fresh - my favs were the chunky guacamole, fresh salsa, and quesabirria tacos. The quesabirria was out of this world, the meat was so tender. The fajitas and carnitas enchiladas were also super yummy, and the rice and beans were perfect. Everything also came out very quickly and our waitress (I didn’t catch her name forgive me!) was super kind and chatted with us about areas to check out during our stay. Will definitely visit this place again if we are back in town!“

“I am a South Georgia girl who has been waiting for the Athens, GA location to open. Let me just say that the workers at the Athens location were AMAZING!! I was so excited to eat Surcheros again, but now I can’t wait for a chance to dine in with them! I am almost positive I was greeted by every person working and they all were so cheery and had smiles on their faces. This is definitely an environment I want to eat in and people I want to talk to! Already planning my next stop in and maybe I’ll get all of my northern friends to tag along so that I can show them how us South Georgia folk do it!😋“

“We love this location and the people who work there!! I work a 4 week on / 4 week off schedule so I’m only home half the year; and we go here 2-4 times every time I’m home.. food is always fresh and amazing… Management is in a class of their own and shows with their employees and amazing customer service!! A+++ 5 star!!“
