“Got good vegetarian options and the vegetarian burrito bowl was a blast. Esquites tasted very good. On a Thursday evening just before the college week, no big wait. Got the parking for which we need to pay. However, taking the car out was a nightmare. It took quite sometime to take the car out.“

“The customer service was wonderful. We had Amy as our server and Jaito as the chef. They were super sweet, patient, accommodating, and understanding of our specific dietary needs. We ordered the Pizza Birria, Blackberry Majito, and the Garden Fajitas. The food was amazing and flavorful. The drinks were fantastic. We would definitely come back again All around ten out of ten restaurant!!“

“Taqueria Del Sol is delicious! The service is quick. The only thing I was a little disappointed about this visit is dirty dishes were stacking up even though several servers went by. That usually doesn't happen.
Now to the food, we started with the cheese dip with jalapeños which was a very generous portion served with crispy chips. I ordered the roasted chicken enchiladas with the beef red chili. It had just the right amount of spice. It was delicious. also ordered the shrimp corn chowder and turnip greens. The shrimp corn chowder used to have more shrimp, a lot more shrimp. The last two times I ordered it the lack of shrimp was evident. I think my cup had three. This was a go to every time but I think that will be my last time ordering it. The turnip greens were delicious but a little salty. I will probably get those again. I did not finish any item on my plate because there was so much.
My Honey ordered the brisket tacos and the rice and refried bean combo. He said all three were very good.
We both took an orange home. Delicious.
I highly recommend Taqueria Del Sol for a date night or day and a delicious meal.
Pay attention to the hours as they close in the middle of the day and reopen at night.“

“Best Mexican food in Athens, hands down! The food was amazing, the prices were great, and the margaritas were excellent. The service really stood out too. Everyone was incredibly friendly and went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. They were especially sweet with my one-year-old and even brought her a little toy, which absolutely made our night. Great food, great drinks, and even better service. We’ll definitely be back!“

“Excellent restaurant for students looking for something different. The burrito/bowl bar is well-stocked and delicious, and the food will not disappoint, especially under $12 for a burrito and chips. Great place for small groups but the seating isn't so extensive for larger parties.“

“The assistant manager working there was absolutely amazing !! She was so helpful with our group in giving recommendations on what to do in the area. They have a cute little outdoor area with mini golf and seating. The food wasn’t bad I got just the steak quesadilla nothing special about it. Everyone else really enjoyed their food! We went around 3 so no one else was there so the food was super quick.“

“Second time I’ve been to this location & still love the food. I like the variety of tacos I can get (in a combo too!!) and their fries are delicious and unique. I love the fusion between asian & mexican and my family who got other menu items all loved their food too.
Only downside is the Athens downtown parking :(“

“I am a South Georgia girl who has been waiting for the Athens, GA location to open. Let me just say that the workers at the Athens location were AMAZING!! I was so excited to eat Surcheros again, but now I can’t wait for a chance to dine in with them! I am almost positive I was greeted by every person working and they all were so cheery and had smiles on their faces. This is definitely an environment I want to eat in and people I want to talk to! Already planning my next stop in and maybe I’ll get all of my northern friends to tag along so that I can show them how us South Georgia folk do it!😋“

I work a 4 week on / 4 week off schedule so I’m only home half the year; and we go here 2-4 times every time I’m home.. food is always fresh and amazing… Management is in a class of their own and shows with their employees and amazing customer service!!
